Luciano's POV.
"Board meeting?" I asked with a surprised expression, "Yes sir, there is a board meeting, and it holds one minute from now." She replied.
She took a quick glance at the board. She held 8 in her hand, "And that's not all, sir; there's more activities you have to fill in today.
"Her voice resounded in my ears. I was not lazy, but this meeting came unexpectedly; I was not ready for it.I've not been active in this company that much because of some certain things, but right now I'm not even prepared for what to say.
I turned to look at Victor. "Victor, let's get ready," I said. He nodded and waited for the woman to finish looking at what she was looking at.
"Sir, the meeting starts now..." she said with a calm voice and walked towards the board meeting hall. We followed her, and she opened the door and bowed slightly, gesturing for us to go in.
I scanned everyone's faces before walking to my seat; Victor took a glance at the men and went to sir too.
"Good day, Alpha Luciano," they all greeted in unison. I waved and dropped my hands on the table.
After some minutes we were done with the meeting. I sat on my chair and watched everyone leave; it was remaining me, Victor, and the lady.
I don't know her name yet, but I intend to ask. I don't even know all my employers names, because I didn't employ them; some were not even employed by my manager; they were here before me. My father had employed them.
"Ok Luciano... let's go." Victor said, standing up from his seat, I let out a long sigh, because I was done. I know I had about a few more works left.
"Ok,... but what's next on the list?" I asked, referring to the lady, "You have to do some signatures and fill in some documents... and look into the employees list and select the ones you want," she said.
"Ok... that's a lot of work." I had to act cool so she wouldn't think I'm a lazy boss.
"And ma, what's your name and your post here?" I asked with a straight face.
"My name is Clara... and I'm the co-manager," she replied, with a professional look.I actually love her professionally, her looks, with her big glasses that sat properly on her nose, and her straight face.
"You have a good professional spirit," I complimented. Victor stood there, not even talking in our conversation.
"Thank you, sir.... I depend on this company, so if it goes down, I will too," she said and straightened her glasses.
She held the board and took another glance at it. "Sir, I think it'd be better if you started other things now," she said, still keeping her professional face on.
"I think I'll promote you... you deserve to be assistant CEO," I said. I could feel Victor's shocked gaze on my skin.
"C- CEO?" She asked, her voice shaking with excitement, "Yes, I love your professional spirit and professional looks... and you fit the position a lot," I remarked.
"Thank you, sir.... I won't fail you and continue working with this spirit," she said.
We exited the room, and Clara's face was still lit up with excitement.
We reached my room and I opened the door with my thumb. Like I had said before, the door was a fingerprint lock.
We got inside, and the annoying smell of paperwork filled my nose. "Bring the paper work that needs signing.... and bring the database of the new employees. Let Victor look into them." I said and sat on my chair.
"And please bring a cup of coffee for me," I added. My coffee machine hasn't been refilled since I don't come to work always.
"And me too," Victor said.
"Sir, what type of coffee do you like?" Clara asked.
"Americano," I replied; she tilted her head to Victor.
"What about you, sir?"
"I'll take the same thing... Americano," he replied. She left walking confidently; her new position is surely giving her a superior feeling, I thought, but she shouldn't be liking it now because I did it because I saw she had the power to work, so she could fill in for me when I'm not around.
"So just like that, you just made her the assistant CEO?" He asked with sarcasm in his tone.
I looked at him for a moment before replying, "You know I don't like work that much, so she could fill in for me when I'm not around, and I'll give her a fingerprint to the door sensor so she could access the room." I finally said my evil intentions.
"You might regret this later," Victor said. Whatever. I don't care for now.
Just then a lady came in holding both coffee in a tray and a paper
"Sir, here is the coffee.... Miss Clara sent me to bring it.... and she said you should sign this document saying that she was the assistant CEO...." She said, handling the paper to me and clearing the space on the table to drop the coffee.
I took a quick glance at the paper and signed it, "Take it, and tell her that she should print her fingerprint out." I said and took a sip from the coffee,
"Ok, sir," she said and left the room. Soon Clara came holding a lot of paperwork. This time she didn't come with her board; maybe we were done with the stuff on the list.
She said it among I and Victor, "Sir, take this, and Sir Victor, take this." We took it from her hands, but it turned out that she didn't give Victor any paperwork but instead gave him a flash drive.
"Sir Victor, insert it on the laptop, and all the database will upload," she said.
"All this paperwork for me?" I asked, and she nodded with a warm smile and left the room.
Victor inserted the flash drive into the laptop and opened his eyes in shock.
"Your cousin that just left prison applied for a job."
