Luciano's POV
Next day.
I slowly opened my eyes, taking in my surroundings. I yawned so hard my jaw cracked. "Time to get up, Luciano," I muttered to myself. Swung my legs over the side of the bed and stood up, my vision all blurry from the sleep crap in my eyes. "Okay, let's get movin," I said, shaking off the sleep.
Staggered to the bathroom, flipped on the sink tap, and washed my face. Cool water helped clear my head. "Ah, that's better," I sighed. Grabbed my toothbrush and started brushing my teeth. Once I finished, I wiped my mouth with a small white towel. "Now let's get dressed," I said, pulling off my shorts and slipping into my white bathrobe.
Secured the robe at my waist and stepped into the shower, turned on the hand shower, and washed my body. "Ahh, refreshing," I breathed. After my shower I started getting dressed. I picked out a crisp white shirt and paired it with a tailored black suit. Adjusted the cuffs and made sure the fit was perfect. "Perfect," I said, adding a slim black tie and a pair of polished black shoes.
Slipped on my watch and gave myself a once-over in the mirror. "Looking good, Luciano," I said, satisfied with my appearance. Walked over to the window and pulled back the curtain, letting the sunlight stream in. "Beautiful day," I said, gazing out the window.
I turned to the door and slowly pulled the doorknob, seeing Victor's face. "You never stop surprising me," I said. Two minutes ago I thought of going to wake him, but now he's already at my door. He gave a warm smile before replying, "Let's go; remember we have a lot of work to do today.".
I shrugged. Before walking out of my door, I locked the door and shoved the key into my pocket. "Have you been standing there?" I asked as we descended down the stairs. "No, I just came when you opened the door," he replied briskly.
As we walked down the hallway, I shifted my gaze to Lunawyn's room; the door was still locked. A smile formed on my face. "Lunawyn loves to sleep a lot," I said. Victor turned to look at me. "Yeah, she does," he said.
"Good morning, Alpha Luciano and his Beta." Two guards greeted us at the pack house exit door as they bowed down. "Good morning," I replied. As I was about to proceed, I held back as my head tilted to gaze at them. "Who did I send to pick up the art I bought from the art gallery?" I asked. They bowed again. "Sir, the person is already on his way here... He had left early this morning to get it," one of them replied.
"Okay," I said and walked towards Victor, who was already opening the car door. We entered into the car. Victor was the one on the steering wheel today; maybe he wanted to drive. He started the engine and revved it a little before driving off to the gate. The gatekeeper opened the gate, and we drove out of the pack house, driving through the private road.
As we drove, I turned to Victor and said, "You know, those paintings I bought from the art gallery yesterday." Victor glanced at me before focusing on the road again. "Yeah, I know," he said.
"I was surprised to see that the person who drew them was my grandfather's brother," I said. Victor's expression didn't change, but I noticed a slight twitch in his eye.
"You knew, didn't you?" I asked, my voice a little sharper. Victor nodded, "Yeah, I knew.".
I was taken aback. "How did you know?" I asked, my curiosity piqued. Victor shrugged. "I just know a lot about this pack, Luciano. More than you think".
I raised an eyebrow, intrigued. "What do you mean?" I asked, but Victor just shrugged again and didn't say anything else.
I was left wondering what he meant, but before I could ask any more questions, we arrived at the company. Victor pulled over and turned off the engine. "We're here," he said.
We came down from the car and walked into the building. We walked through the door, and the two guards at the other end of the door bowed slightly before greeting us. I waved my hands as we exited that floor entirely.
The elevator had dropped us on our floor, but we didn't go to our offices, shocked that Clara had moved to my floor. She turned her gaze to look at the door and gasped, "Good morning, Alpha Luciano," she greeted.
"Good morning, Mister Victor." She greeted us both,
"Good morning," I said briskly. "I saw this free space on this floor and decided to move in here," she said and straightened her glasses.
"Ok," I said, nodding nonchalantly, "Sir, there's a lot of work today, but there's no board meeting," she said and collected her board from her table.
I nodded and left. I opened my door. I actually wanted to give her my office, but it seems like she wants me to work.
I had employed her because I saw her zeal for working, so I employed her so I won't have to keep on coming to this company. But now it seems like she wants to build me into a person that will come to work every day. Just like the movies when the slave girl will turn her Mafia boss into a good person. Nah, I don't want anything like that.
I got distracted from my thought when the sun reflected into my eyes; I turned in the direction and saw that Victor had opened the windows.
Just then Clara briskly walked past the door. "So, sir, which one do you want to start with?" she said and dropped the board on the table.
My eyes widened, seeing the numerous tasks we had to do today; I could feel Victor's smug gaze on my skin. "I'll start with looking into the new employees."
