                    Luciano's POV
Henry raised up his head to gaze at me. "Can I be in this meeting? Like I said before, I want to be more closer to you," Henry said and lowered his gaze.
I was left speechless; each time I opened my mouth to speak, I couldn't just find the right word.
I turned to the men who came to the meeting; their expression was like they'd seen a ghost. They looked at Henry in absurd disbelief."What manner of disrespect is this?" One of the men in the board meeting said with a disgusted expression on his face.
What's this? What's Henry doing? I thought and stood up from my chair. Victor stood up too, waiting for me to make my next move.
My mind raced back to what Victor had done. my eyes closed and squeezed as I felt anger surging through my veins as my mind thought of what he's done
Letting him be part of this company was a hard choice. Now he's come here asking to be part of the board meeting. I didn't even give him a post like that to be part of a board meeting; even the manager can't be part of a board meeting, let alone a normal worker.
My eyes lit up in confusion, not knowing what to do. "......." I tried to speak again, but the right word didn't just pop out.
Victor's gaze was still on the floor. I looked at the ground below him, and it was wet with tears, making my anger suddenly change to pity.
What if this is just another of his plans to get closer to me again? I thought Henry was tricky, very tricky. I can't be too gullible for him to deceive again. I can't let my guard down.
"Henry, get ...." I stopped as I was caught off by one of the men: "I'm out of here. I can't stay here and watch a family reconciliation." the man said and picked up his briefcase and left. He wasn't the only one; other men still followed about two
With all the dropping venomous quotes before exiting the door, I wonder what will be going through this devil's mind now, I thought, referring to Henry.
Victor tried to hold the men off, but they were all pissed. I looked at Henry with pity etched on my face. He was actually the only family I had left. There was nothing I could do... I've forgiven him already, so I should just let him stay close to me. I thought and walked towards him and knelt down. He noticed my presence but still dropped his gaze.
I shoved my hand into my pocket, bringing out a white handkerchief. "Take this, Henry; use it to wipe your face," I said, handing the handkerchief to him.
He looked at me. his face rough with dried cry etched on his face as he took the handkerchief from my hands. "You can be among the meeting... After all, you're the only family I have left," I said and dragged him up.
He hid his face, being shy of the drama he had caused lately. At least not all of the men that had gone; there were still about 10 men at the table. All their expressions from disgust suddenly changed to awe; smiles were fixed on their faces, except from Victor, who still had his suspicions about Henry.
They all clapped. I just seized the opportunity to give a quick speech saying that no matter all that has happened between you and someone in the past, there's always a gateway to forgiveness in your heart.
An hour later we were done, and all the men had left. "Well done, Henry, you really outdid yourself," I complimented, because actually today he did splendid work. In fact, all the men that left earlier won't benefit from the new development, and it was going to yield money a lot, and it was Victor's idea.
He smiled. "Thank you. I had all this idea after years of suffering after I was released," he said. "I always thought of being with you again, so I knew bringing up new strategies for business would make me close to you again," he added.
Victor just ignored us and shoved his hand into his pocket, bringing out his phone as his hands flew across his phone. "Good one, brother," I said and paused as my sentence echoed in my head, brother, I thought. Looks like I'm getting too attached to him, I thought.
"Victor, let's go," I said. He raised up his gaze to look at me. "I'm actually the one waiting for you," he said and stood up from his chair.
As we walked out of the meeting room, I turned to Henry and complimented him again: "You did great today. I'm impressed."
Henry smiled, looking relieved. "Thanks, Luciano. I've been thinking a lot about how to make things right between us."
We walked to the elevator and stepped inside. As the doors closed, Henry turned to me and said, "I'm really sorry again, Luciano, for everything."
I looked at him, seeing the sincerity in his eyes. "It's okay, Henry. I've forgiven you. Let's just move forward."
The elevator stopped on the last floor, and we stepped out. We walked to my office, and I opened the door, gesturing for themfor them to enter. Victor walked in first, followed by Henry. I closed the door behind us and walked around my desk, sitting down.
Henry sat down in one of the chairs in front of my desk, looking around my office. "You've changed the decor," he said, smiling.
I chuckled, "Yeah, I thought it was time for a change."
Henry nodded, looking around some more. "It looks nice. You've got a good sense of style."
Victor sat down in the other chair, still looking at his phone. I raised an eyebrow at him, but he just ignored me.
"So Henry, what made you think of this new strategy?" I asked, leaning back in my chair.
Henry leaned forward, his eyes shining with enthusiasm. "I've been thinking a lot about how to make things right between us, Luciano. And I realized that the best way to do that is to prove myself to you.
I raised an eyebrow, intrigued. "Go on.".
