Luciano's POV.
"Ok sir, I've got it lined up already." She paused as she turned to look at John, who was taking pictures of her and other things. "Alpha Luciano... Who's this guy? Are you the one that permitted him to take pictures?" She asked, curiosity etched on her tone.
"Yes, I permitted him to take pictures for some certain reasons," I said, with a firm voice.
She nodded, "Ok, sir... Let's proceed with today's work, sir. She said,
The paparazzo guy dropped his camera, waiting for me to get up so we could move to other parts of the building.
"Sir, we're having a lot of board meetings today, so we have to start now," Clara said. I exhaled and left the window side, walking towards the door.
"Ok, let's go," I said, making Victor immediately stand up from the sofa as he straightened his suit.
We all left the office walking towards the elevator. Just then the elevator door opened, revealing Henry's smug face.
"The traitor is back," Victor whispered.
"How are you, Alpha Luciano? I mean, those paparazzi really like your work," Henry said; the sarcasm in his tone was obvious.
Clara scoffed. We walked into the elevator, the five of us, and Victor's hand reached for the button taking us to the 15th floor.
John raised his camera up as he continued to take pictures; he looked up, seeing a camera on the edge of the elevator space. He raised his camera again and took a picture of it.
At least that would go well in the newspapers.
As we stayed in the elevator space without talking, the only sound we could hear was the sound of John's camera.
Henry turned to look at him with a disgusted expression, "Will you stop already? The sound of your camera is annoying," Henry said.
He dropped his camera down and turned to me, thinking I would tell him to continue, but I didn't say a word.
The elevator door slid open, and we all walked out of it.
Then I realized we were too much to go in a board meeting; I paused, making all of them stop too, except for John, who continued to take pictures.
They all looked at me, curiosity etched on their faces. "Sir, what's the matter?" Clara asked.
"We're too much to go in a board meeting... If we go in like this, it'll look so unprofessional," I said. They all nodded in agreement.
"Okay, so I'll choose between you guys." I said I was already thinking of picking Henry because I need his help even though it looks like I'm falling into his trap, which I'm unaware of.
"Ok, since I've already promised John that he can take pictures of every detail that's going to happen today, he's coming with me, and Henry is coming too." I said,
"Victor and Clara, you guys can go to my office to help me record some paperwork," I said, their eyes lit up in confusion.
But they obeyed and left, walking towards the elevator. I sighed and walked towards the door.
I opened the door and entered inside; all the people in the board meeting greeted me, and immediately as we sat down, they all started praising Henry.
As we sat down, I couldn't help but notice the way everyone was fawning over Henry. It was like they were all under some kind of spell, and I couldn't understand why.
"Alpha Luciano, we're so glad you're here," one of the board members said, smiling at me. "We've been discussing the latest financial reports, and we're all very impressed with the progress we've made."
I nodded, trying to focus on the conversation, but my eyes kept drifting back to Henry. He was sitting across from me, a smug look on his face, and I could tell he was enjoying every minute of this.
"Yes, Henry has been a huge asset to our team," another board member said, nodding in agreement. "His insights and expertise have been invaluable."
I felt a surge of anger at this, but I tried to keep my cool. I knew that Henry was trying to manipulate me, to make me think that he was more important than he actually was.
"Thank you, everyone," Henry said, smiling at the board members. "I'm just trying to do my part to help the pack succeed."
I rolled my eyes, trying not to let my emotions get the better of me. I knew that I had to stay calm and think clearly if I was going to figure out what Henry was really up to.
The rest of the meeting was a blur, with everyone discussing financial reports and marketing strategies. I tried to pay attention, but my mind kept wandering back to Henry and his motives.
Finally, the meeting adjourned, and everyone started to leave the room. I stood up, trying to stretch my legs, and noticed that Henry was lingering behind.
"Alpha Luciano, can I have a word with you?" he asked, his voice low and smooth.
I nodded, trying to keep my guard up. "What is it, Henry?"
He smiled, his eyes glinting with amusement. "I just wanted to thank you again for the opportunity to work with the pack. I'm really enjoying it here."
I raised an eyebrow, skeptical. "I'm glad to hear that, Henry. But I have to ask, what's really going on here? You're not just here to help the pack, are you?"
Henry's smile faltered for a moment, and I saw a flash of something else in his eyes. Something that looked almost like fear.
But then the smile was back, and he was laughing. "Oh, Alpha Luciano, you're so paranoid. I'm just here to help the pack, I swear."
I didn't believe him, of course. I knew that Henry was hiding something, and I was determined to figure out what it was.
"I'll be keeping an eye on you, Henry," I said, my voice low and menacing.
He nodded, still smiling, but I could see the fear lurking behind his eyes.
"I wouldn't have it any other way, Alpha Luciano," he said, and then he turned and walked away, leaving me to wonder what he was really up to.
I turned to John, who was watching the whole drama, "I think that's enough for today." I said.
He nodded, "Yes, I'll take my leave now... I need to clean up from the bloodstains," he said and handed my suit jacket to me.
He exited the room, leaving only me in it.
