Luciano's POV.
With a satisfied smile on my face, I closed my eyes, finally free from Henry. And I liked that I gave him a sweet taste of wickedness and betrayal, the way he had betrayed me in the past.
I opened my eyes. "I'm so uncomfortable," I said, and stood up from my bed.
I went to my wardrobe and pulled off my nightwear. It was already too tight for me, so it was making me so uncomfortable.
"Seems like I need to do some shopping," I said to myself as I held my waist, bending sideways. After all that hiding today, my waist was actually the one suffering it, because I had to bend behind a bush to hide.
I walked into the bathroom and took a cold shower. When I was done, I reached for my toothbrush and brushed my teeth.
"Brushing in the night gives you good breath," I said; I just remembered how my mom used to say it.
I scrub my teeth and spit it out. I took a glance at myself in the mirror. Then I started remembering fragments of my past with my mom.
"Growing up usually comes with a lot of consequences," I muttered to myself and rinsed my mouth. I came out of the bathroom and used a small hand towel to clean my mouth.
I sighed and walked towards the wardrobe. I took out a more free nightwear and put it on.
I drifted to sleep again, but I couldn't. I opened my eyes and sat straight on my bed. I rubbed my eyes.
"Hope I'm not having insomnia..." I said, "Or maybe I'm not just tired enough to sleep quickly?" I said, and stood up from my bed.
I left my room as I had an idea, a perfect one.
I reached the kitchen and pushed the door open. I walked to the coffee dispenser. I made a decaf coffee, the one that'll knock me out just good.
I waited for a moment to let the coffee brew. I brought it out from the dispenser and took a sip.
"Hmmm." It wasn't tasting so sweet; I didn't want to drink something that'll spoil my taste buds.
I reached for the cabinet and took out 2 cubes of sugar; I crunched them into my coffee and stirred it with my finger.
I washed my hand, and then I took a sip; I liked it, so I just gulped everything down.
"Ahh, so refreshing," I said and left the kitchen, but I didn't forget to shut the door.
I reached my room and entered it. I could already feel the effect of the coffee.
I staggered to my bed and slept.
Next day
I slowly opened my eyes, seeing myself halfway lying on my bed.
I was kneeling while my rest body was on the bed.
"Uhhh?" I said shocked; I rubbed my eyes and sat straight. I felt something on my face; I raised up my hand to my face.
"Did I drool?" I asked, confused. And yes, I did drool.
"Seemed like that coffee knocked me out good," I said, and chuckled.
I stood up from my bed to do some stretches, I did a little workout, and went to bathe.
I took a melodious bath; I felt like I was injected with energy boosters.
I howled and brushed my teeth.
When I was done, I wore my clothes. I was already getting ready for work; I checked myself out in the full-size mirror.
I was looking nice; I reached for my tie and adjusted it well into my collars.
I sprayed some perfumes and shoved my phone into my pocket.
I smiled and opened my door to leave; I saw Victor standing by the doorstep.
"Hey," I said.
"Good day, our strong and well-known Alpha Luciano," Victor said. I smiled.
"Good day, Mr. Beta, of our old, well-known, popular pack," I said, and closed my door.
"Let's go to work," I said, but Victor shrugged.
"I'm having breakfast first." He said, "Okay... You'll need all the strength to do some paperwork today," I said. He walked downstairs, and I followed him.
He went to the kitchen, and then after some minutes, he came out of the kitchen with a flask.
"So you're taking all this to work?" I asked with a mild disgust expression.
He nodded, "Yeah... breakfast is very necessary to start your day," he said, smiling.
I nodded, "Okay?" I said, "So where will you eat that in?" I asked curiously. He couldn't eat in the office; if he ate there, he would eventually stain some important paperwork.
"It's my lunch; I'll eat it by break," he replied. In my company we do have break times for workers to rest.
"Okay, let's go," I said; he nodded.
We walked towards the exit door; before we reached there, I took a look at Lunawyn's room.
I haven't seen Lunawyn in a while now.
We walked out of the packhouse building.
We reached the parking lot and entered a car; this time I was driving.
I held the steering wheel and turned on the engine; I stepped on the gas. And we drove out of the pack house compound.
We drive through the highway, maneuvering some cars and other vehicles like a race.
Soon we reached the company; we parked the car and came out of the car. We straightened our suits and walked towards the company's door.
As we walked past the door, we were hotly greeted by the securities standing nearby. We waved with a warm smile on our faces as we made our way towards the elevator.
We entered the elevator, and I tapped on its button, taking us to the last floor.
As we were in the elevator space, I reasoned about something.
"So, Victor, it's true that you weren't dead?" I asked, and he smiled, "You're back with that topic again," he said.
"No, like the death and everything looked so real. If not for customs, I should have done your funeral," I said. He chuckled softly.
"Thank goodness you didn't do it."
