A week passed and it was already evident that the pack was preparing for a celebration. The pack especially the maids and other workers had been running around like headless chickens all in the name of my parents 's anniversary.
My parents, well my father had been especially civil and had even asked me to start having meals with them. I declined of course but it was shocking all the same.
Lykania had been... Herself but I avoided her like the plague because I still hadn't forgotten she made me wash all the guards's uniforms and clothes. She had even tossed out the stupid dress that caused everything. My blood had boiled when I saw it in the trash three days ago but I didn't say anything about it.
I lounged on my bed enjoying the morning until someone started pounding on my door. And they wouldn't stop.
"What the- it's just eight in the morning what did someone want to tell me so early anyway?" I grumbled, throwing on a robe as I made my way to the door. I wasn't locked in my room anymore, courtesy of my father and I used it to my full advantage.
No one could come in or out without me knowing about it.
The knocking increased and I swore if it were Lykania coming to gloat as usual I would punch her face in. Consequences be damned.
"Look Lykania, it's too early for-" I started to say as I swung the door open but it wasn't Lykania standing in front of me.
"Trent, what the hell! It's eight in the morning. Couldn't you wait until I came out before saying whatever is is you want?" I let out as the annoyance that had built up in me fizzled down.
He breathed heavily as he looked down at me.
"Were you running?" I asked and he nodded, still catching his breath.
"It's your father and your sister, they are arguing about some Alpha not coming to the anniversary and it's a disaster." He let out.
"What are you waiting for, get dressed. You're father sent for you and you definitely need to hear this." He added then ushered me back into my room even as I stood frozen.
I hadn't thought about Luciano. I didn't let myself because it would hurt too much.
He hadn't gotten in touch with me again after he dropped the fact that he had someone else and I wasn't able to either because of this damned house arrest I was under.
I couldn't even step out of the pack house without my father losing his marbles.
My heart ached and I stood rooted to the spot even as Trent tried to get my attention.
"Hey, what's wrong with you? Hurry up and get dressed, we don't have time for thinking right now. You can do that later." He rushed out then pulled me towards my closet.
I still didn't move.
"Hey..." His voice had dropped to a whisper.
"Why do you look so spaced out anyway? Is it because of the Alpha your Father and sister are arguing about? Do you know him?" He asked, his gaze flicking across my face with worry.
Did I know him? My wolf twisted in me at the very thought of him.
"Or do you want me to get you dressed instead?" Trent said again with a slight smirk on his lips.
That broke me out of the trance I was in and I smacked his arm.
"Don't get ahead of yourself, you couldn't handle me if you tried." I told him with a smirk of my own and he gave me a full smile.
"Oh, are you sure?" Trent continued to play along and I raised my hand to smack him again causing him to back up.
"I'm sure, now get out of my room so I can get dressed." I told him and he raised his hands in a "surrender" position.
"Alright, alright, sheesh. It's about time." He said before strolling out of my room and closing the door behind him.
I put on the first thing I could find and ran a brush through my hair before I strolled out of the room.
"Better?" I asked Trent then gave him a twirl.
"Better." He replied, giving me a thumbs up.
Trent hadn't been wrong because when we got close to my father's office, Lykania's and his voice were so loud that I winced.
"Wow, they really are going at it."
"See, I told you."
I walked in leaving Trent at the door and saw my father and sister having a screaming contest while my mother held Lykania and tried to placate her.
"Lykania honey, you'll get another chance to go there." Our mother told her but she shrugged our mother's hands off her.
"No Mom, I don't want to wait. Don't you get it?"
"Wyn are you going to keep standing there or are you going to join in on the conversation." My Father called me from the door where I was standing and I moved forward.
Lykania's head snapped in my direction and she openly glared at me.
"And what are you doing here?" She spat, her eyes boring into mine.
"I called her here." My father stated sounding every bit as calm as he looked.
"What, why? This doesn't concern her." Lykania argued.
"But it does." My father fell back on his chair and regarded me through hooded eyes.
"I thought you would like to know that Alpha Orion will be coming a day early for the anniversary so you better prepare what you'll say to him when he arrives." My father said to me.
"Oh... Of course."
"Wait, that's what you wanted to tell her? You could have just said that you know." Lykania said in her screech worthy voice and my father glared at her.
"Don't forget who you are talking to?" He said and Lykania's eyes flashed.
"I'm sorry father." She apologized and our Mother came to her side again and patted her back.
I rolled my eyes at their exchange.
I was fully prepared to hear news on Luciano and my heart sank that I hadn't.
"Is that it?" I asked, hiding my disappointment well.
