Luciano's POV.
*Next day*
I slowly opened my eyes, groggily taking in my surroundings. My bedroom was quiet and still, the only sound being the soft hum of the air conditioner. I rubbed my eyes, trying to shake off the sleep.
I sat up, swinging my legs over the side of the bed. My feet dangled in the air, and I felt a slight chill run down my spine. I yawned, stretching my arms above my head.
I got out of bed, stumbling slightly as I made my way to the bathroom. I flipped on the light, squinting at the sudden brightness.
I walked over to the sink, turning on the faucet to splash some water on my face.
I looked up at my reflection, rubbing the sleep from my eyes. I looked a bit disheveled, but a shower would fix that. I brushed my teeth, feeling the cool water and toothpaste on my teeth.
After brushing my teeth, I stepped into the shower, letting the warm water wash over me. I closed my eyes, feeling the tension in my body start to release. I stood there for a few minutes, just enjoying the warmth of the water.
Finally, I turned off the shower and got out, wrapping a towel around my waist. I walked over to the sink, looking at my reflection again. I looked more awake now, and I felt more alert.
I got dressed, putting on a crisp white shirt and a tailored black suit. I looked at myself in the mirror, adjusting my tie. I looked professional and put-together, ready for another day of work.
I turned to gaze at the door, expecting a knock from Victor, but the door was still and quiet. I shrugged and walked to the bed. I turned around, looking for my phone.
"There you are," I said. It was on top of the shelf. I walked towards the shelf and grabbed my phone. I shoved it into my pocket.
I turned to the door again, expecting a knock, but there was no one. I raised my hand up to my face to see the time on my wristwatch.
"He ought to be here by now," I said worriedly. "Anyways, let me just use the opportunity to eat breakfast," I thought, and opened my door.
I saw a maid coming from the opposite side. When she reached where I was, I called her, "Hey, go get me my breakfast," I said with a commanding voice.
"Good morning, Alpha Luciano..." She said, "I'll do just that.".
I walked back into my room. I had kept the door shut, not locked, so she'll be able to come in if she's here with the food.
I sat on my bed, looking around my room. From the chandelier to the wardrobe to the air conditioner. I smiled, feeling content; just then, I heard a knock on the door.
"Come in, the door is not locked," I said; the door opened, revealing a trail of food. She walked towards me and handed the food over to me.
"Sir, here's your food," she said politely and bowed slightly before leaving, but she shut the door.
I glanced at the food and smiled as I felt the aroma going up my nose.
I took the first bite, and it was good; I continued to eat, making sure I savored every taste of it.
After some minutes, I was done; I wiped my mouth with the napkin. When I was phone-wiping my mouth, I put the napkin back on the tray.
I glanced at the door with a mildly confused expression, "Why isn't Victor back yet?" I asked myself and stood up, wanting to go check up on him.
I came out of my room and took a few steps, then arrived at his room door. I knocked very hard because I was feeling angry.
There was no response; I knocked harder, still no response. Then I knew something was up. "This guy had knocked himself out with all that alcohol," I said.
"Why will he do this now?" I said, "Not that, why even on weekends?" I added.
I shook my head in disappointment and brought out my phone. I dialed his number, but there was no answer. I continued dialing and dealing till I was tired.
I could feel beads of sweat form on my face; I brought out a handkerchief and wiped my face.
I gave him a last call, but he still didn't pick up. I gazed at my phone in confusion, "Where is he?" I wondered.
I left his room and walked back into my room. I grabbed my briefcase and headed out the door, locking it behind me. I walked down the hallway, nodding at the other people I passed.
I reached the parking lot and entered one of my cars; I turned the engine on and drove off.
I got to my company and parked the car; I came down, straightened my suit, and walked towards the exit door.
I entered the door, and it scanned me before opening on the other side. The two securities at the door bowed slightly and greeted me; I waved at them. I waited for the elevator.
When the elevator came, I stepped inside, pressing the button for the last floor. I leaned against the wall, looking at my watch. I was running a bit early, which was good.
The elevator stopped on the last floor, and I stepped out, looking around. The office was bustling with activity, with people typing away on their computers or talking on their phones. I walked over to Clara's desk, where she was typing away on her computer.
"Hey Clara, have you seen Victor?" I asked, looking around the office.
Clara looked up at me, a hint of surprise on her face. "No, Alpha Luciano, I haven't seen him. Is everything okay?"
I nodded, trying to reassure her. "Yeah, everything's fine. I just needed to talk to him about something."
Clara smiled, relief written all over her face. "Okay, Alpha. I'll let you know if I see him."
I smiled back at her, greeting her properly this time. "Good morning, Clara. How's it going?"
Clara's face lit up with a bright smile. "Good morning, Alpha Luciano! It's going great, thanks for asking."
I nodded, smiling back at her. "Good, good. I'm glad to hear that."
I walked away from Clara's desk, still thinking about what had happened to Victor. Where was he? And why wasn't he answering his phone?
I walked into my office, closing the door behind me. I walked over to my desk, sitting down in my chair. I looked around my office, trying to clear my head.
