Luciano's Pov.
"Let's get going I'm very sure Victor will be there doing some investigation about Clara's whereabouts" Laura said with a reassuring smile on her face.
"Ok lead the way" I said, as we both walked out of the room walking towards the exit door. I could feel a smile forming on my lips as we walked.
We came out of the exit door, and I held my waist as I tilted sideways feeling the fresh breeze hitting my face.
"So are we coming outside the gate?" I asked,
She didn't answer, but her hands were locked on her chin as if she was thinking of something.
"Let's follow here instead" she said, pointing the garden gate. "Ok?" I replied unsure of what to say as I waited for her to take the first step.
We walked towards the gate, and I pushed it open. We walked inside the garden closing the gate behind us.
She stood again holding her chin with a unsure expression on her face. I was forced to ask, "are you sure you know the place?"
She turned to gaze at me, "yeah I do" She paused and took a step to the left, "I want us to go around, cause if we follow the normal road we might get ambushed by his men" she said. My eyes lit up, "men? What men?" I asked, "I only know that Victor only keep one man as his most trusted and must reliable agent?" I added.
"One? He has up to 15 others... But I know about the guy you're talking about." She said.
"Ok, Victor is really secretive" I said nodding my head, "since childhood" I said as a frown formed on my lips.
"I agree to that" Laura said with a smile. We arrived at the bushes. I couldn't see straight cause of the trees that blocked the way and both the sunlight.
Laura walked towards a tree and looked at it, "this is definitely north, the breeze is so cold around here, even the trees are freezing" she said.
"Ok? So what's the next step?" I asked.
"We keep going north" she said and we continued walking.
This place is really far, I remember when she had said but I didn't think this far.
"This place is surely the short cut" she said walking pass the trees, my mouth dropped, "short cut?" I asked, "walking to this place is about a thousand miles" I added.
"This place is actually short compare to the other road" Laura said.
"If I knew the place I should have use lycanthropy to super speed out of here and then I would tell you to go home... But I don't know the place" I said.
"We could race... But I can't use lycanthropy In day time so you'll probably win me and it'll be unfair" she said.
The fog inside the forest was so thick, that we could hardly see where we were both going. If not of Laura tracking instincts we'll probably be lost by now.
"There it is" she said, stretching her hand forth pointing the fog. But I'm sure she could see something else.
"What's that?" I asked.
"The cottage it's right there" she said, pointing it.
I walked forward into the fog, "oh yeah I see it" I said, staring at a small cottage ahead of us.
We walked towards the cottage.
"Wait" I said holding Laura back.
"Something is not right Laura... There are codes" I added.
Laura eyes lit up, as she turned to look at me, "what's not right?" She asked.
"The codes" I replied.
"What codes?" She asked.
"Can't you hear the howling?" I asked her.
"Yes but the howling are faint" she replied.
"Yes faint howling are codes for you're passing territory" I said, "which means someone is watching us... And warning us not to walk Forward" I added.
Her eyes lit up with enthusiasm, "how do you know?" She asked "you'll teach me all about it when we reach the pack house"
"Ok, any more step with lead to an ambush... Stay back I need to tell them something" I said.
"No! I'm not afraid me and Trent have been ambushed at this same spot before so I'm not afraid of ambush" Laura said.
"I don't think it's safe" I said, "just wait here" I added and began to walk Forward.
As I proceeded the howling became louder and louder. I could feel a thousand eyes gazing at me.
"I come in peace" I said raising my hand up in surrender, "I'm Alpha Luciano I'm here to see Victor, the beta of this great pack" I said, and turned to look at Laura.
She shrug and whispered, "go on."
"We have a problem, I want me and him to talk more on it" I added.
The howling immediately stopped, as a figure jumped down from the trees.
The and walked towards me and immediately stopped.
"Luciano behind you" Laura yelled. But before I could react I was knocked out.
"Thud!" I fell to the the ground, as the trees spun around. I shifted my gaze to Laura and saw her struggling from the restrains of the men. Her voice was inaudible but her mouth was opened wide, yelling for help.
Then my mind flashed back to what she had said, "No! I'm not afraid me and Trent have been ambushed at this same spot before so I'm not afraid of ambush."
But now fear was etched all over her face. Or was it worry. Worry for me that I've fallen to the ground knocked unconscious.
A smile formed on my lips, so it's not Trent after all she does like me alot.
Then a man walked up to me looked at me in the eyes and was about to land another hit to make me completely unconscious.
He hit me, and all of a sudden time seemed to pause, as I gasped for breath, the man froze with a grin on his face.
Then everything went black.
