                    Victor's POV
I sighed and let go of his chin, standing up. “Alright then,” I muttered. “Suit yourself.”
I turned toward the door, taking slow steps just to see if he’d break.
And then—
“… I told him something I wasn’t supposed to.”
His voice was so quiet I almost didn’t hear it.
I stopped. Turned back around.
“What did you tell him?” I asked, my tone sharper now.
The guy swallowed hard, his throat bobbing. He hesitated. I could see the war happening inside his head, debating whether to speak or not.
“I—” His voice cracked. He exhaled shakily. “I told him about the shipment.”
My whole body went still.
I blinked. Once. Twice.
“The shipment?” I repeated slowly.
He nodded weakly.
I took a step closer. “What about the shipment?”
He hesitated again, and I could feel my patience thinning.
I crouched down in front of him, grabbing his face roughly this time. “Listen to me very carefully,” I said, voice low. “If you’re playing with me right now, if you’re wasting my damn time—” I squeezed his jaw tighter, enough to make him wince. “I will make sure Luciano wasn’t the worst thing that happened to you today.”
He shut his eyes tightly, sucking in a sharp breath. Then—
“I told him where it was coming from.”
My grip loosened just slightly.
My stomach twisted.
“You… what?”
“I didn’t mean to,” he rushed out. “I swear, I didn’t mean to. He—he kept pushing, kept asking questions, and I panicked—”
“Where?” My voice was ice now.
He swallowed again, his breath shuddering. “North side. Near the docks.”
I let go of him, standing up fast.
North side.
That was a problem. A huge problem.
I ran a hand down my face, already feeling the headache forming. This wasn’t just some minor slip-up. This was dangerous. If Luciano knew about the shipment—if he knew what was inside—
I cursed under my breath.
I needed to find him. Now.
Without another word, I turned and stormed out of the room, my boots heavy against the concrete floor.
The moment I stepped out, my eyes landed on Luciano. He was standing with Laura a few feet away, drinking from a bottle of water like he hadn’t just tortured someone minutes ago.
He noticed me immediately, his expression unreadable.
I didn’t stop walking until I was right in front of him.
“You knew about the shipment?” I asked, voice quiet but firm.
Luciano lowered the bottle from his lips, licking the water off before meeting my gaze. He didn’t look surprised. Not even a little.
“Yeah,” he admitted simply.
I clenched my fists. “And what exactly do you think you’re going to do with that information?”
A slow smirk tugged at the corner of his lips.
“I don’t know,” he mused. “What do you think I’m going to do with it?”
I exhaled sharply through my nose. He was playing games, and I wasn’t in the mood.
“This isn’t a joke, Luciano,” I snapped. “That shipment isn’t just some random cargo. You know that, don’t you?”
His smirk didn’t fade. “I do.”
“Then why,” I said through gritted teeth, “did you go looking for answers you had no business knowing?”
His eyes darkened slightly.
“I have business in everything that concerns my people,” he said, voice calm but firm. “And if you think you get to decide what I should and shouldn’t know—” He took a slow step toward me. “Then maybe you don’t know who you’re talking to.”
I held his gaze, my muscles tensed. The air between us felt heavy. Charged.
Laura shifted beside us, looking between the two of us warily. “Guys, maybe we should—”
“Stay out of this, Laura,” I muttered, not taking my eyes off Luciano.
"Those goods are stolen goods from another pack, Henry had sent them, so if the pack finds out, they'll attack us," I said.
"And yes, we'll give them what they want," Luciano said, looking around his fist.
Those packs are this pack's rivals, and they've been looking for everything to go in a war with us, and Luciano didn't seem to hold back.
"Luciano, do you know that pack will attack us?" I said.
"Just what I've been looking for," he said.
Laura's eyes widened. I could probably predict what was going through her mind right now.
She hasn't seen this side of Luciano before.
"I was going to send those goods back... Henry had already had this as his backup plan already, just as he always did, teaming up with rival packs to attack us," I said, pointing into nothing, less like if I was pointing into the past.
And then, he chuckled. A low, quiet laugh.
“You’re tense, Victor,” he said. “Relax.”
“Relax?” I repeated, narrowing my eyes. “You think this is something to relax about?”
His smirk widened slightly. “I think you should trust me.”
I let out a humorless laugh. “Trust you? After what you just did to that guy in there?”
Luciano shrugged. “He shouldn’t have run his mouth.”
I shook my head. “You don’t get it, do you?” I said. “That shipment if it gets into this pack successfully. It'll cause life's"
“It won’t,” he cut in smoothly.
I stared at him, searching his face.
He was too calm. Too sure.
And that’s when it hit me.
“You already made a move, didn’t you?” I asked, my voice quieter now.
Luciano tilted his head slightly. “What makes you say that?”
I inhaled deeply, my jaw tightening.
He had.
This wasn’t just him fishing for information. He had already done something.
I took a step back, exhaling slowly. “You better hope you didn’t just start a war, Luciano.”
He just smiled. “I guess we’ll find out.”
