                    Dorian’s POV.
Trini’s head was bent, her gaze fixed on the floor, as if the words she was about to say weighed too much for her to meet my eyes.
“I think I’ve decided,” she said, her voice steady but laced with something I couldn’t quite place.
A knot tightened in my stomach.
I exhaled sharply and turned to Luciano, Victor, and Marcus, gesturing for them to leave. This wasn’t a conversation I wanted an audience for.
Victor, ever the perceptive one, gave me a knowing look before nodding. “I think we should give them some time.”
Luciano and Marcus exchanged glances, straightening their suits like proper gentlemen before stepping away.
As soon as they left, Trini finally moved.
She walked toward me, slow and deliberate, like she was still figuring out if this was the right decision.
I was still sitting at the dining table, watching her closely.
Then she stopped, just inches away.
I reached out and gently took her hands in mine.
“Hey, Trini,” I said softly.
She didn’t look up right away. Her fingers twitched slightly in my grip, and her head remained lowered, eyes locked onto the wooden tile beneath us.
“I’ve made my decision,” she repeated, but this time, her voice had lost whatever hope it carried before.
I swallowed, my heart pounding so hard I was sure she could hear it.
Everything in me was bracing for rejection.
I didn’t want to hear it, didn’t want to face it.
“Tell me,” I said, though deep down, I already knew I wouldn’t like what was coming.
Trini took a deep breath, finally lifting her gaze to meet mine.
A soft blush tugged at her cheeks.
And just like that, the storm inside me stilled.
For a second, I thought I had misheard her.
Then she said it—clear as day.
“I accept you as my mate.”
Silence.
I blinked, my brain taking too long to process what had just happened.
She… accepted me?
My wolf stirred inside me, howling in triumph, but I forced myself to stay composed.
I exhaled, gripping her hands a little tighter, grounding myself in the moment.
“I accept you as my mate too, Trini,” I murmured, my voice rough with emotion.
She smiled—a small, almost shy thing—and before I knew it, we were hugging.
Tightly.
Like we had been waiting for this forever.
I held her close, breathing in her scent, feeling the warmth of her body against mine.
For a moment, I wanted more.
But I forced myself to pull back, my hands still resting on hers, my thumbs softly tracing circles on her skin.
She chuckled, her eyes dancing with amusement. “This actually feels good,” she admitted.
I smirked. “Yeah. I’m feeling it too.”
We stood there, lost in the moment.
But we weren’t alone.
I could feel them.
Luciano. Marcus.
Peeking.
Eavesdropping like a couple of pups sneaking out of training.
Trini must have felt it too because she let out a soft laugh and stepped back.
“I think I’ll catch you later,” she said.
I nodded, unable to stop the smile tugging at my lips.
“Yeah, no problem,” I murmured.
She turned and walked out, her dress swaying with each step, her scent lingering in the air long after she was gone.
I didn’t move.
Didn’t look away.
Even when she disappeared from sight, my eyes stayed locked on the doorway.
Then—
Luciano and Marcus practically jumped out of their hiding spot.
“Did you mark her?” Marcus asked, grinning.
I rolled my eyes. “No, I didn’t. And you should know that, considering you were right by the damn door, peeping into my conversation.”
They both laughed, raising their hands in surrender. “We’ve been caught!” Marcus said dramatically, nudging Luciano.
I shook my head. “You two are worse than pups.”
“So… how did it go?” Marcus pressed, still grinning.
I paused, pretending to think. Then, with a smirk, I said, “You were watching. I’m sure you got all the details.”
Luciano and Marcus exchanged a glance before bursting into laughter.
Victor reappeared then, leaning against the doorway with an amused look on his face.
“You guys are ridiculous,” he said.
Marcus shrugged. “Hey, this was a big moment. We had to witness it.”
Victor smirked at me. “So? How do you feel?”
I thought about it for a second.
I felt lighter, like the weight I had been carrying all day had disappeared. I had spent so much time worrying about this moment, replaying every possible outcome in my head, and now that it had finally happened, all I could feel was relief. And happiness.
“She’s mine,” I said simply, a small smile creeping onto my face.
Victor nodded approvingly. “Yeah, she is.”
Marcus groaned, rubbing his stomach. “Alright, now that the love story is over, can we eat?”
Luciano shook his head with a laugh. “You never change.”
We finally sat down, digging into our meals. The food was warm, rich, and comforting, but for once, it wasn’t the highlight of my night.
Every time my mind drifted, it went back to Trini.
To the way she looked at me.
To the way she said those words.
To the way, for the first time in a long time, everything felt right.
After dinner, the conversations slowly died down, and one by one, we all went our separate ways. My mind was still replaying everything that had happened with Trini, the way she looked at me, the way she said those words.
I made my way to my room, shutting the door behind me. The moment I hit the bed, a deep sigh left my lips.
For the first time in a long time, sleep came easily. No overthinking. No tossing and turning. Just the quiet satisfaction of knowing that tonight, everything had finally fallen into place.
