Crazy? The comment would have flown over my head, but it didn't because of who the statement was coming from.
Orion stood besides Lykania, a protective arm over her as he looked at me, his eyes glinting in malice and no sign of the faux confident expression he had had when he thought I would beg him to take me back.
"If you want to see crazy, I'll show you," I said, completely throwing away any inhibition i might have had about going after him as well.
"Calm down Wyn," Trent said as he held me in a strong protective hold, Varin and Simon at his side. I didn't know if he was protecting me from them, or protecting me from doing more damage, especially to Lykania whose face was steadily swelling and I felt delicious satisfaction zing through me at the sight alone.
"Have you gone mad?" His words did nothing to me at all, but what riled me up was when he turned in the direction of my Father and said, "there's something wrong with her because I don't recognize her at all."
"You don't recognize me at all? Well who's to blame? Did you think I would be the same after you so brazenly cheated on me with Lykania? I'm just glad I caught the two of you sooner because only the moon goddess knows what would have happened if I ended up being shackled to your sorry ass." I didn't mean for it to happen, but my words struck a nerve in both Orion and Lykania.
Orion released Lykania from his hold, and stomped towards me, his eyes blazing. Before he could reach and grab a hold of me, Trent flung himself between us, his arms outstretched as he tried to play peacemaker. Varin had quickly taken his spot and stood sharply to protect me.
"Woah, that's enough, you know you can't attack her Orion," Varin said, as he tried to talk some sense into Orion but his words were flowing like a river through him.
"Oh, I can't eh? Watch me rip this damn bitch's head off." He bit out, his gaze very much trained on me and I stared back, stubbornly refusing to look away.
"Come over here and see if you can try," I spat back, my words dripping with as much venom as his and his eyes flared wildly.
"Wyn! You're only making him angrier," Simon scolded, but I didn't care. What I cared about is sinking my claws into the prick that has cost me mine and my child's life. Hell, I didn't even cared that he cheated anymore, the two of them deserved each other and I wished them all the worst.
A broken roar left Orion's lips as he harshly flung Trent off of him like he didn't weigh anything.
"Get off of me you stupid pup."
Free, and with nothing holding him back, he stalked towards me and Varin stepped forward to defend me- or at least he tried to because one moment, his back was blocking my view of Orion, but the next, he was rudely snatched away by some of his Father's associates who held him away from me in a vice like grip.
"Fuck! What the hell is wrong with all of you, can't you see she's in trouble!" He struggled against their hold but went rigid when his Father's firm hand rested on his shoulder.
"Think about your mate." Alpha Vincent's words were low but that didn't stop me from hearing it, and I watched as Varin's body slackened, his eyes filled with sorrow as he fazed at what was a disaster waiting to unfold.
I didn't blame him, but my heart stung none the less. With just a few words, his Father had wiped out someone who was willing to defend me.
The same thing has happened with Simon too. Though, this time it wasn't his Father's associates that has held him down but mine's. My throat clogged up as I really saw where I stood in my parents minds. I was all alone now.
I blinked and Orion was before me, his claws digging into the smooth skin of my arms as he glared down at my face.
"I dare you to insult me again, but this time, have the guts to do it to my face." As he spoke, little flicks of saliva landed on my cheek and I almost wanted to gag. But I held it because getting under his skin was far more important than any discomfort I was getting.
"Read my lips, you're a prick who gets joy from overpowering a shewolf. I'm sure any old alpha can take you and you would lose without a doubt," I told him, then smirked when his face twisted into an ugly expression, his fsce burning red with a ferocious intensity.
A hiss left my lips when he claws dug deep but I didn't let any other look show on my face. I couldn't give him the impression that he was hurting me.
"You can dig your nails in me all you want, it just goes to show that I was right. My point was proven." He let go of me, amidst the shrieks and yells from the crowd to let me go but he didn't back away.
His hands lifted up, and I caught the movement before anything happened.
"Fucking asshole," I muttered.
His hands moved to strike, but I saw it coming, delivering a heavy blow on his cheek much like I had done to Lykania much earlier.
The room that was somewhat quiet went deathly still. It was like all the air had left the room because everyone was holding their breaths waiting for something to happen.
My hand burned as it stung from the force of my hit, but I didn't dwell on it. I was too busy relishing in the welt steadily forming on the side of his face.
Orion's face was still bent to the other side, whether from shame or from the fact that he was stunned at my slap, I couldn't quite tell.
"I will fucking kill you!"
