"So, what do you have in mind?"
My body was ringing that this couldn't possibly be a good idea, especially when I saw her smile, but my curiosity overrided all those thoughts.
"How about you tell me a little something about what you were thinking, and I will tell you a little something of what you want to know in return?" She suggested, and again, my head was ringing blaring warning signs that Trini would probably try to trick me... Again.
I still cringed at how she had gotten me so good that time.
"... Okay." my voice dragged out, and it was clear I was feeling skeptical, Trini only smiled.
"It's okay, gee. I'm not tricking you again," she said, and that did nothing for me whatsoever, "at least not now," she added, and the little trust in her I had tried to build crumbled before it could form a sturdy foundation.
"That is not helping," I snapped.
"Ugh, you're no fun," she let out, sticking her tongue out at me. And I did the most childish thing in response, I stuck my tongue out back.
"We're losing track of what we were taking about," I pointed out, and her face went back to serious mode, at least as serious as it could be when you were Trini. Her shoulders straightened and she looked at me with a blank expression.
"Right," she breathed out.
Getting her attention, I took a deep breath and said, "okay, you first."
My words caused her blank expression to crack, and I saw the corner of her lips lift into a subtle smile.
"Ugh fine," she muttered, before shuffling closer to me like she was about to whisper the world's biggest secret in my ear.
I leaned up slowly, and brought my head closer, holding my breath as I was eager to here what she was about to say.
"Woah, someone's excited," she chipped when we had settled down and I glared at her.
"Don't change the subject."
"I'm not... I'm not, I"
"... Trini," I drawled and she shrugged her shoulders, and waved both her raised hands.
"Ugh, anyways, about why I can't tell you anything," she paused, and I mmhmmed to let her know I was listening and she could carry on.
"The truth is that I would love to spill the beans, I mean that much should be obvious because I'm me," she said, and I agreed with her because it was a valid point. She was Trini, and though I had known her for a short while, it was blazingly obvious that she loved to tell people things.
"The thing is, who wants to meet you asked that no one tell you who they are," she finished, then sat back. I blinked, more times I should have, then leaned back.
"That can't be it," I muttered in disbelief, then added again, "please tell me it's not," I pleaded.
"Sorry to burst your bubble but-"
"Oh, come on, why would that be it?" I mumbled. She told me next to nothing.
"But do I know this person at least?" I asked as a last ditch attempt to pry some more information without her noticing.
"Nice try," she added dryly, and I sighed. Trini was probably a lot of things, but being stupid or gullible wasn't one of them.
I whined a bit more until her cutting voice pierced through me, mid whine.
"Okay, enough of all that sulking, it's your turn to spill something, I'm waiting," she said, her tone demanding.
"Yeah, yeah..." I went quiet trying to decide what to share and what to keep to myself while Trini tapped her foot impatiently.
"I'm waiting," she huffed and I rolled my eyes.
"I know, I'm may be bedridden, but I'm not blind," I let out, my tone matching hers perfectly.
She stayed put after that until I got tired of keeping her in suspense.
"So... I was thinking about a close friend of mine who... Left my... Old pack not long before I did," I told her, wincing at my broken up answer. I still kept to myself that I had been banished, and that my "friend" had been banished along with me.
It was still a hard pill to swallow, and talking about it would make the pill choke me. And plus, I didn't want to open up old wounds, even though they were still fresh.
"A friend huh?" Trini asked, smirking in that way that suggested I meant more than friends, and I had to stop her right there.
"Yes a friend, a dear friend," I said, taking my time to let the word "friend" roll from my tongue to get the point across.
"A friend, nothing more, nothing less."
She shrugged, quickly losing interest in that before her eyes lost focus for a minute.
"So, that's all you are going to tell me?" She voiced after a good minute, and I nodded.
"I think we should change your middle name to petty."
"I don't have a middle name," I replied, not missing a beat.
"Well then, I'm giving you one."
"If you want to know something else so bad, I don't mind doing another trade of information," I suggested even though I knew that wouldn't be happening.
"I mean, who doesn't love trades," my voice dripped with sarcasm and Trini's eyes narrowed as she pursed her lips.
"Nice try, but that's not happening."
"So I guess that's going to be all for today," I muttered, my eyes downcast as I tutted, and Trini's nostrils flared.
"Ugh, stop that."
"Stop what? I don't know what you mean?" I said innocently.
I most definitely knew what she meant.
"Stop acting like... Me. It's annoying," she let out, clearly frustrated to admit it, as I saw her face scrunch up.
"Oh, so it's annoying when I do it?"
"Wyn!"
"Ugh, you are no fun," I said, throwing her words right back at her as the final straw, and she glared at me.
"Fine, you got your point across, now stop," she groaned, and I smiled.
"Great... But no!"
"Spill, what do you want?" She asked, her tone defeated.
"Take me out of this room," I said, but I think I blurted it out too quickly because her mouth parted in shock.
"Wait, what? Where did that come from?"
"It's been here the whole time. I'm sick of seeing these four walls everyday, so pretty please, can you take me to explore?" I begged, putting on my best pleading face, and Trini sighed.
"You're insufferable."
"So are you."
