Lately, it's been helping but after a few days, I realized that I was running quite low on ingredients. I look in my drawers, wondering if perhaps I still had a bit just lying around. "Deek?" I called out.
Just seconds later, I hear the pattering of his footsteps coming down the stairs. "You called?" he asked. I nodded. "Do you happen to know if I left any Lacewing flies Toadstool caps around here somewhere? Maybe I misplaced them somewhere and you caught a glimpse of them?" I asked.
Deek hummed, looking around the room and wondering if he'd remember any he might have seen. "I don't believe I have, Miss Y/L/N. Would you like me to take a trip and grab some for you?" he asks. I always appreciated Deek's help.
I shook my head this time. "Thank you, Deek, but I'll go ahead and do it myself. I'll be out in the Forbidden Forest if Professor Weasley asks for me, alright? If she comes by, let her know for me," I tell him, picking up my bag and getting ready to go. "Of course, miss y/l/n."

I didn't want to go to a creepy forest all alone, so I figured I'd ask one of my friends.
Who better than Garreth Weasley?
I entered the Great Hall, knowing his schedule and where he might be during this time of day. I stood at the entrance, scanning for his fiery red hair. I caught him sitting with Sebastian, Ominis and Amit, in a seemingly rowdy conversation.
I approached them at the table, standing behind Amit and Garreth, who sat next to each other while Sebastian and Ominis sat with each other just on the other side. "Hello, Y/n," Ominis greeted. I smiled at him.
I remember the conversation we had during History of Magic just the other day, where I told him I was always impressed how he could tell I entered the room. He went on to tell me that I had this sort of bright energy and unique pleasant smell he could sense that let him know I was around.
"Hello Ominis," I greeted back. "And Amit and Sebastian." Garreth turned around with a a drumstick of chicken in his hand and his mouth full of it. "What about me?!" he mumbled with food in his mouth. I scrunched my nose, not amazed by the sight of it.
"Actually... I'm here for you. I need more potions ingredients and I don't really want to go into the Forbidden Forest all alone," I awkwardly chuckle. Garreth darts his eyes to the side, feeling a bit embarrassed about having a mouth full of chicken while I asked him to accompany me.
From the corner of my vision, I can see Sebastian frown slightly. "Garreth's busy," he blurted, quick on his feet as he put his food down and wiped his mouth. Garreth's brows furrowed, his mouth still filled with chicken. "I am?" he mumbled.
"Garreth, I think you should finish chewing," Amit said, his face washed with disgust.
"Yes. You are now," Sebastian said, seemingly annoyed. He makes his way around the table and walking towards me.
He had this sudden firm energy to him that I've never seen before. And I feel like I should have by now since we were best friends. Had I offended him somehow? Had I made another joke that hit his unusually sensitive heart?
Sebastian places his hand on my lower back and leads me out of the Great Hall, pulling me to the side where all the house points were. I looked at him with curious eyes, wondering what his odd behavior was about. "What the hell, Y/n?" he whispered harshly to me.
I shook my head in confusion. "What?" I asked. Sebastian's face was fading into a light red, a vein nearly popping out of his forehead. "You're going to ask Weasley to go with you, but not me? I'm your best friend!" he spat. I scoffed. "Well, I'm sorry! I needed to go because I need more potion ingredients! It makes sense for me to ask Garreth, I'm not going to ask Ominis to help me with stargazing now, am I?!" I fought back.
Sebastian rolled his eyes. "You think I give a shit that you need potion ingredients or something? No! You should always ask me first!"
"Fine, let's go then. I don't have time to deal with your shit right now. I have potions to brew and if you don't shut it, I'm going to use you as an ingredient. See, how you like being brewed..."
At that moment, I regretted not letting Deek go out for me.

We made it the dark depths of the forest, creepy as ever. But I knew that the sooner I got my ingredient, the sooner we could get out of there. "What do you even need anyway?" Sebastian asked. By the tone of his voice, I could tell he wasn't over our stupid little dispute.
"Lacewings and Toadstool Caps," I said flatly, dragging myself over the rocky trails of the forest. I scanned the land surrounding me as I walked, appreciating the silence Sebastian offered me.
At first, I thought he felt bad about blabbering at me, but then I realized he was never quiet for that long. I glanced at him, wondering if something else was going on.
I noticed his head darting to every sound he heard, his face tense. "You alright?" I ask. Even though he annoyed the living shit out of me, I still somewhat cared for his wellbeing. "Mhm," he gulped.
In my next few steps, I found myself snapping an unexpectedly thick branch, creating a loud snap. Sebastian jumps and gasps, looking at me after he realized it was just a twig.
It was then I realized.
"No way," I say, a hand resting on my hip. Sebastian glares at me, trying to turn away as he crossed his arms. "Are you... afraid of the Forbidden Forest?!" I exclaimed. Sebastian kept quiet, perfectly answering my question.
I felt myself go hot. I couldn't believe he wasted my energy just for me to find out he was afraid of the Forbidden Forest.
"So, here's what I'm getting from you right now. You made this whole ordeal about me not asking you to come with me... you made me stand there and take you yelling at me because of that, just for me to find out you're afraid of it?! What in Merlin's name is your beha-"
Before I could even think, Sebastian's hand found its way around my neck, gently hugging it while his lips sealed mine.
His lips were soft as I taste the juices of the apple he was snacking on earlier. He leaned me against a tree bark, refusing to part.
My anger slowly left my body. I had no idea what was happening, but I knew I didn't hate it.
He pulls away, an invisible string tugging me with him, almost as if I was stuck to him. He looks deep into my eyes, an apologetic look on his face. His hand trails down from my neck to my hand, holding it softly.
"I just really didn't want you to go with him," he whispers to me.
