Sofia's Point of View
"Sofia, My Love," I heard as I opened my eyes.
"Thank the Goddess you are alright," Ethan said
"What happened," I asked
"You passed out for a few seconds. How are you feeling?" Ethan asked
"I am tired," I said honestly as I yawned and Ethan sighed
"I think I took it too far. I am sorry. I shouldn't have taken you that many times at once. You had your first shift, and that took a lot of strength. I am going to get you home and call the Pack Doctor to check on you," Ethan said. He put on his shorts and put his T-shirt on me. Then, he picked me up bridal style and started walking toward the Castle.
It didn't take the Doctor long to meet us on our floor after we made it back to the Castle.
"Is there anything wrong?" Ethan asked. He was sitting in a chair by the hospital bed I was lying on, holding my hand. I could feel through our bond that he was really worried about me.
"Luna Sofia will be alright. There is nothing wrong with her healthwise to be worried about. I know you shifted today for the first time at the challenge. Did you rest after?" The Doctor asked
"Not really," I said
"Did you do anything active that might take up a lot of energy?" the doctor asked, and I couldn't help the blush that came to my face.
"Yes," Ethan answered for me.
"Then my guess is that you passed out because of exhaustion. You need to rest for the rest of today," The doctor said
"Thanks, Doc," Ethan said. I could feel through the bond that he was relieved that nothing was wrong with me.
"Of course. I would recommend you stay home from school tomorrow. Just to make sure you get enough rest," The Doctor said
"But I have a big test tomorrow," I replied. I had a test in Mr. King's class that was worth fifty percent of my grade.
"It was just a suggestion. I am sure going to school won't hurt. I just thought a little extra rest would do you some good, Luna," The Doctor said
"Thanks, Doc," Etahn said again
"The nurse will be in with your discharge papers," the Doctor said and left the room.
"I think you should stay home from school tomorrow. You need extra rest like the doctor said," Ethan said for the hundredth time since we left the Pack Hospital.
"I can't. I have that test in Mr. King's class. If I don't pass, my grade will go down, and that means my grade point average will be affected. I can't let that happen" I replied
"You could always make it up later. I am sure King Lestat would understand. Besides, you don't have to worry about getting a scholarship anymore," Ethan said
"Ethan, I can't let you..." I started to say, but he cut me off.
"I don't want to hear that, Sofia. You are my mate. We are fully mated now, which means we are basically married. Well, more than married because we are mates and that means forever. Which means that what's mine is yours. My money is your money, and I am going to pay for your education," Ethan said, and I just looked at him. "Why is it hard for you to let me take care of you financially?" Ethan asked. I could feel the hurt in his voice.
"I don't want you to feel like I am with you for your money. I have always had to work hard for everything I get. I don't want everyone to think I am using you," I said, and Ethan laughed, causing me to look at him with a frown on my face. "Why are you laughing," I asked annoyed
"I am sorry, My Love. I just don't understand why you would think that. You honestly think that I would think that you wanted me for my money or that anyone else would think that," Ethan asked
"I mean, some people want others because they have money," I replied
"I have always known you, Sof. You have never been the type of woman that would get with someone because they have money. Plus, we are fully mated. I can feel your emotions and how much you truly love me. Everyone in the werewolf community knows we are mates, so you don't have to worry about them thinking you want me for my money. Even if someone out there thought that was why you were with me, their thoughts don't matter. I know you have always worked hard for what you got. You are one of the hardest working people I know. That doesn't mean you don't deserve to be taken care of. I want to take care of you Sofia. You are my mate and I love you," Ethan said
I thought about what he was saying and came to the conclusion that I was overthinking everything. I could tell how badly Ethan wanted to provide for me and that it hurt him when I refused. We were fully mated which meant we were more than married.
"Okay," I said
"Really," Ethan replied with a smile and I nodded
"Thank you, My Love," Ethan said. He pulled a folder and two cards out of the nightstand drawer and held them out for me to take.
"What is that?" I asked as I took the folder and credit cards out of his hand.
"I added you to our bank account. That is your bank and credit card. There are checks with your name on them and some other information about our account is in the folder," Ethan said
"You added me to your bank account?" I asked shocked
"Our bank account, and before you say anything, remember you agreed to let me take care of you just a moment ago," Ethan said, and I nodded, causing Ethan to smile.
"Thank you, My Love," Ethan said as he wrapped his arms around me and hugged me tight. I could feel through our bond how excited he was that I agreed to let him provide for me.
"Shit," Ethan said suddenly.
"What's wrong?" I asked
"My dad just mind-linked me. He wants to see us in his office, now," Ethan said
"Okay, let's go," I replied
"You are supposed to be resting. I will go," Ethan said
"No, I will be fine. I want to know what your dad wants to talk to us about. It has to be important," I replied
"Okay, let's go."
