Tammie and I walked to the training field together in silence. I was upset because of the argument I had with Ethan. I couldn't believe he got so upset over what I was wearing and yelled at me because I wouldn't change. He walked around with just a pair of shorts on, but you don't see me yelling at him, telling him to put on a damn shirt.
"Are you alright? I can tell something is bothering you. I want you to know you can talk to me about anything," Tammie said before we made it to the training field. Even though Tammie was Ethan's mother, I trusted her and knew I could talk to her.
Ethan and I got into an argument. He told me to change my outfit because it was too short, and I told him I wasn't going to change. He yelled at me and told me that I was his and nobody was allowed to look at what was his. He was acting like I was his property," I said. I was so upset because the morning had started out so great, and then Ethan had to go and act all crazy.
"I understand that you are upset, and I am happy you took up for yourself and let him know he can't boss you around, but I want you to understand that werewolves are very possessive and protective of their mates. Especially the males. The higher the rank, the more possessive they will be. Ethan is the soon to be Alpha King," Tammie said
"So that means he is going to always yell at me and boss me around when I don't do what he says?" I asked
"No, that is not what I am saying, sweetheart. What I am saying is that Ethan wants to protect you and let other men understand that they can't have you. His wolf doesn't want anything bad happening to you or nobody taking you from him. It doesn't help that he hasn't marked you yet. Werewolves usually mark and mate within a day or two of finding each other, but Ethan knows that he has to take his time with you because you are new to this world, and he doesn't want to do anything to hurt you. It isn't easy for him to wait. The longer it takes for an alpha to claim their mate, the weaker their wolf becomes," Tammie said, shocking me. I had no idea Ethan's wolf was getting weaker the longer he waited to mark me.
"I didn't know that," I said, and Tammie smiled at me
"Look, I know you are upset with him, but please try to understand where he is coming from. My son really loves you, and he is afraid he will lose you. He has loved you for a very long time, and I have never seen him as happy as he is now after discovering you are his mate," Tammie said
"Okay, I won't be too hard on him," I said and Tammie hugged me
"Thank you, Sweetheart," Tammie replied, and we continued our walk to the training field. When we got there, Ella walked over to us.
"Good morning. I am happy to see you woke up on time," Tammie said
"I am not always late," Ella said. At that time, Ethan walked into the training field with his dad, Jace, and some of the other warriors. Of course, he only had a pair of shorts on; his chest was bare for everyone to see. I didn't miss the way some of the females were checking him out just like every other day, and I hated it. As soon as he spotted me, he walked over to where I was standing with Tammie and Ella.
"Let's go say hello to your father while they talk," Tammie said to Ella
"Um, okay," Ella said. I knew she was confused.
Ethan wrapped his arms around me and inhaled my scent. I thought about pulling away from him, but I couldn't, and I honestly didn't want to. "I am sorry, Love," Ethan whispered in my ear. I could see that everyone was looking at us.
"I know. We will talk about it later. Right now, you have to run training," I said
"Okay," Ethan said, and he kissed my lips softly before telling everyone what they had to do today. Because I hadn't shifted yet, I was training with the others who didn't have a wolf. We were working on getting our bodies in shape. The trainer had us do push-ups, sit-ups, jumping jacks, and running. By the end of the class, I was exhausted.
"Okay, that is it for today. See you tomorrow morning," Ethan said, and I was happy that it was over. Everyone started to leave, and Ethan walked over to where I was standing.
"You did good, Love," Ethan said
"Sure I did," I said sarcastically. I was sure I did a terrible job at training.
"I am serious Sof. You are doing well. The trainer even told me you are doing very well for someone who hasn't trained before. You are doing better than some of the werewolves that have been training for years," Ethan said. I wasn't sure if I believed him. I didn't feel like I was doing well. "I was wondering if you wanted to go out for breakfast before we head to school so we could talk about what happened earlier?" Ethan asked
"Sure, that sounds great," I said, and Ethan smiled at me.
"Great. Let's go to our floor and change and then we can go out for breakfast," Ethan said. I was about to agree with him, but then Cindy, one of the females who went to school with us, walked over to where we were standing. She used to hang out with Jane. Now that Jane was on the run, Cindy had taken over as cheerleading captain. She was wearing a black sports bra and shorts that were way shorter than mine. I was sure if she bent down, you could see her panties. I knew Cindy liked Ethan because I had heard her speaking to some of the students at school about it.
"Alpha Ethan, do you mind if I speak to you about something important?" Cindy asked, and Ethan looked at her.
"Um, sure," Ethan said, and then he looked at me. "I will meet you in our room in a few, Sof," Ethan said
"Okay," I replied, and I walked to our room. All I could think about was what Cindy wanted to talk to Ethan about. I was sure it wasn't that important and that she was up to something.
