Sofia's Point of View
I woke up hearing voices. Sparks went through my hand, and I knew the person holding it had to be Ethan.
Ethan, just thinking about him made me remember what happened. I was talking to Ella, and suddenly, my chest started hurting. I remember falling on the ground and hearing Tammie and Ella whispering something about Ethan cheating on me and how that was the reason I was in so much pain. Just thinking about it makes my chest hurt, and tears come from my eyes. I open my eyes and see Ethan, Ella, and Tammie talking to the doctor. A gasp escapes my lips, causing everyone to look at me.
"Sofia," Ethan said
"Hello, Luna Sofia. How are you feeling?" The Doctor asked
"My head and chest are hurting," I said, and Ethan's hand tightened over mine.
"That is expected. I will get you something that should ease the pain. Once that dose of IV is finished, we will give you another one, and after that, you should be able to go," The Doctor said
"Okay, thanks," I said
"Thank you, Doctor," Tammie said
"Of course. One of the nurses will be in here in a moment to give you some pain medicine," The Doctor said
"Thanks, Doc," Ethan said, and the Doctor left the room.
"I am so happy you are awake. I was so worried," Ethan said, and then he sighed when I didn't say anything. "Love," Ethan said, and I removed my hand from his.
Tammie cleared her throat and then began to talk. "Ella, let's go get something from the food court," Tammie said. I knew she was trying to give Ethan and me some privacy to talk.
"Okay," Ella replied, and they got up and left the room. Ethan and I stayed silent for a few minutes. I didn't know what to say to him. I was hurt, and I didn't want to talk to him.
"Sofia," Ethan said
"I don't want to talk to you," I replied softly. Before Ethan could reply, the nurse walked into the room, causing Ethan and me to look at her.
"Hello, Luna Sofia, Alpha, Ethan. I have some painkillers," The nurse said with a warm smile.
"Thank you," I replied, and the nurse walked over to me with the two painkillers and a cup of water. I took the painkillers and placed them in my mouth before taking the cup, drinking the water, and swallowing the medicine.
"It looks like that IV is almost finished, so I will go and get the other one," the nurse said
"Thanks," I replied, and the nurse left the room, leaving Ethan and me alone.
"Sofia, I know you think I cheated on you with Cindy, but I didn't," Ethan said, and I looked at him.
"Then why did I feel so much pain in my chest? I heard your mom and Ella talking, and they said the only reason I would feel that badly is if you were cheating on me," I said
"I promise that isn't what happened. I would never cheat on you. I love you, Sofia. Cindy kissed me out of the blue, and it shocked me. I quickly pushed her out of the way and told her never to do anything like that again. I told her that I loved you and you were the only woman I wanted to be with. I guess when she kissed me, it made you feel like I was cheating on you, and that was why you felt so much pain," Ethan said
"If that is what happened, then why did you lie and say you just talked when I asked you?" I said
" Because I didn't want you to get upset. I know I should have told you, but you were already upset with me, and I didn't think it was a big deal because I pushed her away and told her never to do it again or she would be punished for her disrespect," Ethan said. Something inside of me told me he was telling the truth. I knew I could trust him.
"You should have told me what happened," I said
"I know, and I am sorry. I promise I will never keep things from you again," Ethan said
"You better not. Why did you think I wouldn't find out she kissed you when you knew I would feel pain from it?" I asked
"That is another thing. Mates that aren't fully mated don't normally feel as much pain as you feel from someone kissing someone else. They do when a mate has sex with someone else but not from a kiss. It would be normal for you to feel the pain if we were fully mated. The Doctor believes that we have a stronger bond than most mates. My dad is looking into it now," Ethan said
"Do you think our bond is stronger than other mate bonds?" I asked, and Ethan smiled at me
"I have loved you since the fifth grade and have never wanted anyone else. What do you think?" Ethan replied, and he bent down to kiss me on the top of my head. "I love you so much, Sof," Ethan said, and I knew deep down that he did.
