Sofia's Point of View
"So, how do you really feel about everything, Sof?" Ella asked. We were on Ethan's and my floor, sitting in the family room watching TV. Ethan was working on some Pack Business with his dad. We were supposed to have dinner in about an hour with Don and his family.
"I am doing okay," I replied, and Ella just looked at me for a moment before responding.
"Are you sure?" Ella asked. I could tell she was concerned about me by her facial expression.
"Yeah, I am doing okay, really. I am taking everything fine," I replied
"Sof, you have been through a lot of changes in such a short time. I mean, you not only found out that werewolves were real but also that you are the mate of the future Werewolf King. You also found out that you are a half-witch and half-werewolf. It would be understandable if you were overwhelmed, and I want you to know that you can talk to me if you need to. I am your best friend, slash sister, and I will always be here for you no matter what, Okay?" Ella said. It made me happy knowing that Ella was worried about me.
"Thank you so much for caring about me, Ella. To be honest, it is a bit overwhelming, especially meeting my dad. I am happy that he and his family seem happy to meet me. Even Stacie seemed happy to meet me, which was very surprising to me. I am a little worried that it is too good to be true. I am worried that something bad might happen," I said truthfully.
"I understand why you are worried, but I want you to know that you have me, Ethan, my parents, and this entire pack by your side now. We are your family, and I can tell you that Alpha Don and his family are good people. My mom grew up with them, and Ethan and I have been around them our entire lives," Ella said
"I hope you are right," I replied, and then I sighed. "Thank you for being my best friend, Ella. I don't know what I would have done without you in my life all these years. You have always been there for me since we were in the fifth grade, and I want you to know I am so grateful for you," I said
"Oh, Sof. There is no reason for you to thank me. Like I already told you. You are my sister. I have seen you like my sister even before learning you were my brother's mate. I will always be there for you, and I know you just like you have always been there for me," Ella said, and we hugged.
"Um, am I interrupting something?" Ella and I turned to see Ethan standing there.
"No, you didn't interrupt anything, brother. We were just talking," Ella said as we pulled away from our hug. Ethan walked over to where Ella and I were sitting, and he sat beside me on the couch. He took my hand and put me on his lap.
"Did you and your dad get everything done?" I asked as I got comfortable on his lap.
"Yes, we got everything situated," Ethan said, and he pulled me to him so that his head was in the crock of my neck. I knew he was inhaling my scent. "It is almost time for dinner. We should get ready and head to mom and dads floor," Ethan said
"Okay," I replied.
"I am going to go and change, and I will meet you two there," Ella said, and she left. Ethan and I got up from the couch and walked to our room.
"How are you feeling about dinner?" Ethan asked as I walked to my closet to get my clothes
"I'm okay. I'm a bit nervous," I said, and Ethan walked over to me and wrapped his arms around my body, pulling me closer to him.
"There is nothing to be nervous about, Love. I will be with you the whole night," Ethan said
"I know. I just can't help but feel nervous," I replied
"I understand. I just want you to know everything will be okay," Ethan said, and I smiled at him. I knew with him by my side everything would be fine.
Once Ethan and I were ready, we headed to his parents' room. When we walked inside, Don and everyone else were sitting in the living room talking.
"Hello, Everyone," Ethan said, causing everyone to look at us.
"Hello, we have all been waiting for you. How about we all head into the dining room? The food is already done," Tammie said, and we all walked to the dining room. Ethan held my hand and smiled at me, reassuring me that everything was going to be okay. I just smiled back and hoped that nothing bad would happen.
