                    Sofia's Point of View
I was so happy when the bell rang, signaling the end of history class. There was so much tension between Mr. King and Ethan. I knew Ethan didn't like Mr. King's comments about someone taking me from him or the way Mr. King kept calling on me to answer questions and staring at me. To be honest, it did seem weird.
"Okay, look over chapters twenty-five and twenty-six. I will be talking about those chapters tomorrow. Have a good rest of your day," Mr. King said, and everyone started to leave the room.
"Ms. Jones. Can I speak to you for a moment," Mr. King said and I walked over to where he was. Ethan wrapped his arm around my waist and walked with me over to where Mr. King was sitting at his desk. " I asked to speak to Ms. Jones only. You can go to your next class," Mr. King said
"No, I will stay with my mate," Ethan said and Mr. King was silent for a moment before he replied
"Very well then," Mr King said and then he looked at me
"I have gone over your grades and you are doing very well. I see that you are in the run to become Valedictorian. It looks like you will win if you keep up the good work. I know you are looking for an activity where you help others. I know they look good to colleges when you volunteer. I have an afterschool class where I help those who need extra help. I was wondering if you would like to be my assistant since your grades are so good," Mr. King asked.
"That would be great," I replied with a smile. I knew that if I volunteered that would help me get into the colleges I had applied for. It would even help with the scholarships. College wasn't cheap.
"My mate will not be assisting you in any way, King Lestat," Ethan said causing me to look at him.
"No offense, Alpha Ethan but I think Sofia should be the one to make that decision," Mr. King said
"I have already told you she will not be your assistant. Now, if you would excuse us, my mate and I need to get to our next class before we are late," Ethan said, and we walked out of the room.
"What was that?" I asked him once we were at my locker
"What was what?" Ethan asked
"You telling Mr. King that I couldn't be his assistant," I said as I folded my arms
"Because you are not going to work with him," Ethan replied
"Don't you think that should be my choice?" I asked
"I am not going to let you work with him. He was flirting with you all throughout class," Ethan said
"No, he wasn't," I replied
"Really, You didn't notice the way he was staring at you and kept calling on you to answer the questions. He wants you Sofia," Ethan said
"That's not true, and even if it was, I am with you. I don't want anyone else," I said
"Still you are not working with him," Ethan said
"Why? Is it because you don't trust me?" I asked
"What? That is not why. Of course, I trust you. It is him I don't trust. He is the vampire King and very strong. What if he tries something with you?" Ethan said
"I can take care of myself. I am not weak," I replied
"I know that, Love, but he is very strong, and I don't want anything to happen to you. Look, When my dad told me he was coming here I had a feeling he was up to something. Now I am sure whatever he is up to has something to do with you. He could be working with Jane and the witch," Ethan said
"I think you are overthinking and I am sure he doesn't have a thing for me. Working with him would help me get scholarships and get into the colleges I want to get into. You know college is not cheap," I said
"You don't have to worry about that anymore. You know I will pay for your college. What's mine is yours remember. You don't have to worry about money anymore," Ethan said
"I don't want a handout, Ethan. I have worked my butt off to get into a good college. I don't want to get in because you have money. I want to get in because I deserve it," I replied
"You are going to get in because you deserve it. The only difference is you can afford it without a scholarship now," Ethan said
"It doesn't feel right taking your money," I said
"It isn't my money. It's our money," Ethan said and I stayed silent for a moment.
"I don't see what the problem is with me helping Mr. King after school," I said
"I don't want you anywhere near him, Sof. I don't trust him," Ethan said
"Are you sure that's the reason, or is it because you don't trust me," I said
"I told you I trust you," Ethan said and the bell signaling class was about to begin rang. "We need to get to class before we are late," Ethan said
"Okay," I replied and he wrapped his arm around my waist and we walked to class. I would let it go for now but this discussion wasn't over.
