                    Sofia's Point of View
"I came here to apologize to you for the way I have treated you. I know I wasn't the best mother, and I am truly sorry. I was hoping you would give me a chance to make it up to you," my mom said
"Why? Why do you think I should give you a chance? Why would you want to be in my life? My entire childhood, you told me that I messed up your life and that if you didn't have me, you would be living well. So, why not live the life you always wanted without me in it? I know you don't care about me," I said
"Sofia, that is not true. I love you. You are my daughter," my mom said, causing me to look at her with a shocked expression. I don't remember her ever telling me that she loved me.
"You have never told me that before," I said and my mom sighed.
"I know, and I am sorry. I meant what I said, Sofia. You are my daughter, and I love you. I have always loved you. I just never showed it. Every time I looked at you I saw Don. I couldn't stop thinking about Don when I looked you in the eye. You look so much like him. I hated that every time I saw you, I saw him. It brought back so many memories that I wanted to forget, but I couldn't do it because of you," My mom said, and then she was silent. I didn't know what to say, so I stayed quiet.
"I had been in love with your father for a long time. I thought we might end up as mates. He was always nice to me and treated me well," My mom said, and then she started to frown. "But then he discovered that Stacie was his mate. He started spending all of his time with her. I was furious that she took him from me. I felt he only cared about her because of that stupid mate bond. To be honest, I still feel that way. I feel that if they weren't mates, he would have chosen to be with me. That's why I asked you if you thought you and Ethan had feelings for each other because of the mate bond," My mom said. I just watched her, waiting for her to continue.
"I know that I don't deserve to ask you for another chance, but you are my daughter, and I don't want to lose you. I feel terrible for leaving you for a man that didn't really care about me. I never should have done that, and I promise that if you give me a chance, I will do my best to make everything up to you. I will be the mom you deserve," My mom said. I thought about what she was saying and if I wanted to give her a chance. I had always wanted my mom to love and care for me. I have always wanted her to treat me the way she should. So, I decided that giving her a chance wouldn't hurt. Either she would be a good mother to me, or she would mess up again, and I could kick her out of my life for good.
"I want you to be in my life," I said, and my mom looked at me with a smile on her face.
"Really?" My mom asked
"Yes, but I am only giving you one chance. If you mess up, there will be no other chances," I said, and my mom shocked me by hugging me. After a few tense moments, I hugged her back.
"Thank you so much, Sofia. I promise you won't regret this. I am going to be the mother I always should have been," My mom said. I hoped she was telling me the truth.
Ethan's Point of View
"So you are telling us that Vera's helped one of the werewolves that lived in this castle mask her scent so that she could get rid of your mate, escape one of the cells, and is hiding her in her coven. Also, the she-wolf mom is the one who told Vera to help," one of the ladies who was a part of the witch's council asked.
"Yes, that is what I am saying, and my son and I want you to let us go into the coven and bring the she-wolf back so that she can be punished. Also, we would like to punish Vera for her involvement in helping the she-wolf Jane try to kill the future werewolf queen," my dad said, and the lady sighed.
"Okay, I guess with all the evidence you have provided, we don't have a choice. We will grant you access to Vera's Coven so that you can bring Vera and the she-wolf back to punish them for their crimes. We only asked that you don't hurt anyone else in the Coven."
"We won't," I replied. I was happy that the meeting went the way I wanted it to. I was sure it would because the witch's council didn't want to go to war with the wolves. Once the meeting was over, I went back to Sofia and my room. I had been worried about her talking to her mom alone because I didn't want her to say something to my mate that would upset her.
Once I got back to our suite, I could hear Sof and her mom laughing in the kitchen. I went inside to see them cooking together with smiles on their faces.
"Hey, My Love," I said, and Sof looked at me with a smile on her face.
"Hey, Ethan," Sof said. She walked over to me and hugged me. I inhaled her scent and hugged her back. We went to our room to talk alone.
"So I take it your talk went well," I said
"Yes, it did. My mom asked me for another chance, and I said yes. I hope it is okay for her to stay for dinner," Sof said excitedly. I was worried because I didn't trust her mom, and I didn't want to upset her. She seemed happy
"Of course, it's okay," I said. I was going to give her mom a chance, but I would be watching her and making sure she didn't hurt Sof. If she did, she would pay.
