Sofia's Point of View
"That dress looks so pretty," Stacie said
"I agree. You look so pretty," Tammie added
"You think so?" I asked. We were at the dress shop for over an hour. Every dress I had tried on didn't seem right but the light blue dress was beautiful. It looked like the dress Cinderella wore before she went to the ball.
"Yes, you look beautiful," Stacie said
"You do look beautiful, Sof. Ethan isn't going to take his eyes off of you," Ella said
"I don't know. You should try this dress on. You would look hot in it," My mom said and she held up a short red dress, way shorter than I would be comfortable with.
"Don't you think that's a little too short?" Stacie said
"No, it is perfect. Try it on, Sof," My mom said.
"Okay," I said and went into the dressing room to try it on. Just like I thought it was shorter than I would be comfortable wearing. It barely covered my ass and chest. There was no way I was wearing it.
"Come on out so we can see," My mom said. I took a deep breath and walked out of the dressing room.
"I knew it. You look hot," My mom said with a smile. I wanted to tell her that I looked like a hooker but I didn't want to offend her.
"It is too small," Stacie said
"No, it's not," My mom said as she glared at Stacie
"Can't you tell that Sof is not comfortable in that dress," Stacie asked
"Stop acting like she is your daughter. She is not your daughter she is mine," My mom said
"Stop," I said louder than I meant to causing everyone to look at me. "Can you please stop arguing," I said
"I am sorry, Sof. This is about you. What do you think about the dress," Stacie asked
"This dress isn't me. I am going to pick the blue dress. I feel comfortable in it and I feel it is the one," I said
"Okay, if that is what you want," my mom said. I could tell she wanted me to pick the dress she had chosen, but she didn't say anything about it, which made me happy.
We paid for the dress and then we headed to an Italian restaurant to eat. I didn't have an appetite because I was missing Ethan terribly but I knew I needed to eat to stay healthy.
"Hello, Ms. Jones." I looked up to see Mr. King standing by our table.
"Hello, Mr. King," I said
"Hello, Luna Queen," Mr. King said
"Hi, King Lestat. I am shocked to see you here," Tammie said
"I am here with some of my men. We decided to come here for lunch," Mr. King said
"Oh, that's nice. This is Tina, Sofia's mom, and Luna Stacie, Sof's stepmom. I am sure you already know Lacy and my daughter Ella," Tammie said
"Yes, it is nice to meet you both. You must be happy to have a smart girl like Ms. Jones as your daughter," Mr. King said
"Yes, she is a great girl," Stacie said
"She is my daughter," My mom added and Stacie rolled her eyes but didn't say anything.
"Well, I will leave you to eat. It was nice seeing you Sofia. I hope you think about working with me in school," Mr. King said
"It was nice seeing you too," I replied
"Luna Queen," Mr. King said
"King Lestat," Tammie said, and Mr. King walked away
"What is he talking about you working with him?" My mom asked
"Mr. King wants me to help him in his class during my free period. At first, he asked me to work with him after school, but I told him it wouldn't be a good idea. Then, he asked if I would work with him while I was at school," I said
"That sounds like a good idea. Wouldn't that look good to colleges," my mom asked
"Yeah, but her mate doesn't want her working with him," Lacy said
"Why," My mom asked
"He thinks Mr. King likes me and he doesn't trust him," I said
"It sounds like he doesn't trust you," My mom said
"That is not true, Tina. My son does trust Sof. He just doesn't want anything bad to happen to her. You know King Lestat is the Vampire King and we barely know him," Tammie said
"I guess, but if he wants to work with her while school is in, what is the worst that could happen? I think you should decide what you want to do and don't let someone else make up your mind, not even your mate," My mom said
"I am not letting him make up my mind. I have thought about how I would feel if the tables were turned and realized I wouldn't want him working with some female that I thought had a crush on him so it wouldn't be right for me to work with Mr. King," I replied
"I guess, it is your choice," My mom said.
