"What did you just say? This can't be happening," I screamed at my second in command, Stephen. I couldn't believe what I was hearing
"We have gotten word from one of our spies that the girl is planning on completing the mating process with the Future Alpha Ethan," Stephen said, and I couldn't help but throw my desk into the wall.
"That girl is your future Vampire Queen and my beloved," I yelled. I was so angry that I could feel my fangs extending, and I knew my eyes were red.
"I am sorry, My King. I meant no disrespect," Stephen said as he bowed his head.
"She is supposed to be mine. I am not going to let that Dog take her away from me. I know he is tricking her into believing they are meant to be," I said
"That isn't what it looks like, My King," Stephen said
"What did you just say to me," I growled. I wanted to rip Stephen's head off
"What I am trying to say is that it doesn't seem like he is playing a trick on her. They are always together, and from what I have seen, he treats her like a queen. You won't know if she is your mate until her birthday. I am just saying maybe you made a mistake and..." Stephen started to say but I cut him off.
"I didn't make a mistake. The witch told me that my beloved would be strong and unique. Sofia is the most unique being in the world. She is the only being that is part witch, vampire, and wolf. I know she is my beloved. Her birthday is only two days away," I said
"Well, then, we will find out in two days. They plan on completing the process on that day. If you are right about her being yours and not his, then she will know the moment she turns eighteen," Stephen said. There was a knock on my door, and two of my men came in with Sofia's mom. I had sent them to pick her up because I needed to talk to her about everything.
"Thanks. You can leave us now," I said, and then I looked at Stephen. You can leave too," I said, and Stephen bowed before walking out of my office.
"You could have just come to my place to talk to me. You didn't have to send your men to drag me here," Tina said, and I could feel my eyes turning red again from anger at how she was talking to me.
"I would watch the way you speak to me, Tina. You wouldn't want to lose your head, now would you?" I said, and Tina gulped from fear.
"I am sorry, Your Highness. When your men dragged me here, there were people outside watching the scene. What if Sofia had seen it? She would have had questions.
"If they dragged you, that means you were refusing to come with them, so if she did see anything, that would have been your fault," I said, and Tina stayed quiet. "I summoned you because I wanted to ask you about your progress in getting your daughter to trust me and turn against that dog, but now I have gotten news from my second letting me know that my beloved plans on becoming fully mated with that Mutt. Did you know about that?" I asked
"No, I knew they were getting closer, but I didn't know they were planning on completing the mating process so soon," Tina said
"Well, they are. I need you to keep them apart on that day. They plan on doing it on her birthday. Whatever spell he has placed on her to believe that they are mates should wear off by then.
"Why would I need to keep them apart? You said if there was a spell on her to make her think Ethan is her mate, it would wear off on her birthday," Tina said
"Because I don't trust him. He might try to claim her against her will. I won't let that happen," I said, and Tina stayed silent for a moment, just staring at me.
"And what about you?" Tina asked
"What about me?" I replied
"What if you are wrong and my daughter is not your beloved? Would you claim her against her will?" I asked
"She is mine no matter what," Was my answer.
"So you would?" Tina asked, and I stayed silent. "I won't let you do that. King or now," Tina said. I was by her side within a second with my hand wrapped around her neck.
"And who are you to tell me what I can and can't do? You are not perfect. You drugged Sofia's father and had your way with him, causing you to become pregnant with Sofia," I said. I took my hand off Tina's neck and threw her to the ground.
"I can't do this to her. She is my daughter," Tina said
"You will do everything that I say, or you will die," I said, and then someone knocked on the door.
"Come in," I said and Stephen walked in with the girl. Tina looked at the girl with a shocked expression on her face.
"What is she doing here?" Tina asked
"I am here to help."
