Sofia's Point of View
"I wish you didn't have to go," I told Ethan as I walked with him downstairs.
"I wish I didn't have to leave either, but it is important that I find Vera and Jane. I hate knowing they are out there somewhere and can strike at any minute," Ethan replied. It was Saturday, and my birthday was a day away. Ethan wanted to go out and see if he could find Vera and Jane before then. I knew he was worried they would try and make an appearance on my birthday, and so was I. I was sure Jane wasn't going to rest until she got rid of me.
Ethan wrapped his arms around me and hugged me tightly. "I will be home soon," Ethan said, and he kissed my lips softly.
"Okay, stay safe," I replied
"Always," Ethan said, and then he looked at Nick, who was staying at the castle instead of going with them. Lacy ended up staying the night at the castle because the people who were supposed to take her back to the Wolf Fang Pack couldn't make it until later on in the day. Ethan didn't like the fact that she was going to be in the castle with me, so Nick said he would stay.
"Make sure nothing bad happens," Ethan said, and Nick nodded
"I got you," Nick replied. We said goodbye to Jason, Don, and Eric, and they all left with the warriors and trackers. Tammie and Stacie were also outside, saying goodbye as well. It was still dark outside because it was only a little over four in the morning. I watched as the car drove away from the house, and instantly, I missed Ethan.
Stacie put her hand over my shoulder, causing me to look at her. "I know how you feel. It is hard being away from your mate, even for a short period of time. Just remember that he will be back soon," Stacie said.
"Come on. How about we go to my room, and I make us some tea," Tammie said, and we all headed to the Alpha and Luna Floor. Once we got inside, we went to the kitchen. Stacie and I sat at the table while Tammie started making the tea.
"I wanted to say I am sorry for what Lacy did yesterday. I don't know what got into her," Stacie said
"Me either. She was always a nice person. I never knew she could act like that," Nick added.
"You have nothing to apologize for. You aren't the one that made her act like that. It was her choice," I replied
Tammie poured everyone some tea and started to make breakfast. Stacie helped while Nick and I talked about nothing important. After we finished breakfast, Nick went to the room where Lacy was in to check on her. She would be picked up in a few hours, and he wanted to make sure she was ready to go.
"Are you excited about tomorrow?" Tammie asked after Nick left
"Yes, and I am a little nervous. Ethan truly believes my wolf will surface tomorrow but I am not so sure. What if the potion my mom gave me all of those years killed her? I don't want Ethan to be disappointed if I don't get my wolf tomorrow, or ever," I said
"You don't have to worry, Sof. I am sure you will get your wolf and even if you don't, Ethan wouldn't be upset with you. He loves you for you, okay?" Tammie said
"Okay," I replied.
"So what do you plan on doing today since we have everything ready for your party tomorrow?" Stacie asked
"I don't know. I will most likely hang with Ella when she wakes up. I am sure she is still sleeping," I said and Tammie laughed
"She is definitely still sleeping. You know Ella is not a morning person," Tammie replied
"I had one more question. Do you still want your mom to be at your party after what happened yesterday?" Tammie asked
"I don't know. Ethan doesn't trust her. He believes she is working with King Lestat and they are planning to do something with me. I honestly don't know what to think about the situation. I hope my mom wouldn't do something like that but after what happened I don't know. Anyway, she probably isn't going to show up anyway. I am sure she is upset about what happened yesterday and my mom isn't the type to let things go so easily," I said and then I stood from the table. "I am going to go to my room and rest for a while," I said
"Okay, see you later," Stacie said and I left the room
When I got to my floor I saw Lacy standing at the door. "What are you doing here? How did you get out of your room wasn't Nick watching you?" I asked
"He was but then he left and I snuck out so that I could speak to you," Lacy said
"We have nothing to talk about," I replied and Lacy grabbed my arm before I could walk past her.
"Please let me explain why I did what I did," Lacy said and I thought about it for a moment. I did want to know why she went after Ethan.
"Fine, you can come in for a minute just to tell me why," I said as I opened the door and we walked into the room.

When I got to my floor I saw Lacy standing at the door. "What are you doing here? How did you get out of your room wasn't Nick watching you?" I asked
