Sofia's Point of View
I couldn't stop looking at the time on my phone. It was already after eleven at night, and Ethan was still gone. I was missing him like crazy. We talked earlier for a moment and he told me he would be a few more hours. He said he had gotten some information about where Vera was and he was on his way there to get her. I couldn't wait until her got home.
I felt a someone tap me taking me out of my thoughts. I looked at Ella to see her looking at me.
"Sorry, did you say something?" I asked
"I said it is getting late and we should get to sleep. You are going to have along day tomorrow with your party and all," Ella said
"I don't think I can sleep," I said. I knew I wouldn't be able to sleep without Ethan.
"You should try," Ella started to say but then the front door opened causing Ella and me to look over to see Ethan walking into the room.
"Ethan," I said without thinking I ran over to him. He instantly wrapped his arms around me. "I missed you so much," I said
"I missed you to, My Love," Ethan said. I pulled away from the hug and looked at him. He looked tired and worried.
"What's wrong?" I asked
"Nothing is wrong," Ethan said and I crossed my arms
"No secrets, remember?" I said and Ethan sighed.
"Okay, I know you are right," Ethan said and we walked over to the couch to sit down. Ella was still sitting on the other couch in the corner of the room.
"I didn't want to tell you until after your birthday but remember when I told you that we got information about where Vera was hiding?" Ethan asked and I nodded. "Well, we got it from an Alpha named Alpha Thomas. Well, a used to be Alpha because my dad stripped him of his title after we found out he had been hiding her," Ethan said
"Are you talking about the Alpha of the Midnight Pack? I heard he is a terrible Alpha," Ella said
"Yeah, and you are right. The Pack Members in his Pack have been living horrible. The only nice place in the pack was the packhouse. Dad and I plan on going back there and figuring out how to fix the place. Dad feels guilty because of how bad it was. He feels he let them down," Ethan said. I felt bad for Eric. I knew he was a good king. He has done alot of good from what I have seen since being there. He needed to know that he can't be everywhere at once and all he can do now is make it right.
"That's sad," I replied
"Yeah, I am going to talk to dad. He needs to know that he is a great King and has done a lot for everyone," Ella said
"I agree," I replied
"So, what happened with Vera?" Ella asked and I looked at Ethan waiting for him to answer
"When we got to the house she was supposed to be in. We walked into the house to see her body on fire," Ethan said shocking me
"What?" I asked
"Yeah, she ended up burning to death," Ehtan said
"That's so crazy," I said
"Yeah, who would burn her to death? Are you sure it was her body and not someone else. She could have been trying to trick you into thinking she was dead," Ella said
"I thought about that so we brought Tabatha. She told us that it was her body," Ethan said
"Well, at least we don't have to worry about her anymore," Ella said
"We don't have to worry about her but now we have a bigger problem," Ethan said
"What is that?" I asked
"Tabatha said her body was burned with dark magic. That means another evil witch burned her body. One that has to be stronger than she was. Now I am worried about why they would want to kill her," Ethan said. I thought about what he was saying and then realization hit me.
"You think whoever it was might be after me?" I asked and he nodded
"Yeah, I think someone wanted to hide something from us. I think they want to hide their identity and we don't know why," Ethan said. I was afraid. I didn't know who would want to hurt me.
Ethan pulled me onto his lap and wrapped his arms around my body.
"Hey, don't worry. Everything is going to be okay. I won't let anyone hurt you, okay?" Ethan said
"Okay," I replied. I believed he would never let anything happen to me. That was one thing I was certain about.
"Now let's get some sleep. You are going to have along day tomorrow."
