"Jessica, have you ever made bubble tea before?"
I shook my head. "No, but I'm a fast learner."
Especially when it comes to you—I'd learn anything in a heartbeat.
"Alright, you start tomorrow. Salary's three grand a month."
My heart leapt—not because of the money, but because this was my chance to be near Ryan. Just the thought of seeing him every day sent butterflies swirling in my stomach.
That night, even the shower couldn't wash away my excitement. My hands trembled under the warm water, imagining what tomorrow would bring.
The next day at the shop, I swore Ryan had been waiting for me. My pulse spiked as I slipped into my uniform, trailing behind him like an eager shadow. My first attempt at making bubble tea was a disaster—clumsy, messy, all wrong.
"Take it slow," he said, voice steady. "Start with coconut milk and ice, then stir gently."
I tried, but the ice either refused to break or shattered into slush.
"Here, let me show you."
His hand covered mine—warm, firm, sending an electric jolt through me. His body pressed close, the heat of his abs searing through my clothes. And that scent—raw, masculine, intoxicating.
My face burned.
"Boss..." My voice came out breathless, barely a whisper.
Something flickered in his expression—his pulse jumped. Then, without warning, he leaned in, lips grazing my ear as his arms wrapped around me. The warmth of his chest melted into my back, and my thighs clenched instinctively.
This is too much.
What if I lost control right here?
"Jessica, gentle strokes. No need to force it. See how the ice breaks evenly?"
His words barely registered. All I could think about was the way his body molded against mine—how badly I wanted more.
His hands guided mine, adding pearls to the cup before sealing the lid. "Don't stir too hard, or they'll crumble."
But by then, his voice was just background noise. My heart hammered wildly, like it might burst from my chest. His deep breaths, that dizzying scent—I was completely under his spell.
"Now, try it yourself."
"Okay~"
I mimicked his movements, but my mind was elsewhere. Nothing worked. I couldn't even meet his eyes—I knew he expected better.
"Sorry, Boss. I messed up."
"It's your first day. No pressure."
His patience only made my heart race faster. And with every second, the craving grew stronger.
A dangerous thought crossed my mind—if Ryan ever tried anything, I wouldn't stop him.
"Boss, I'll do better tomorrow!"
"Go home and rest." He flashed me a smile that sent my stomach into flips. "Be safe."
He cares about me.
At home, I tossed my damp clothes into the washer and collapsed onto my bed, drowning in thoughts of him.
"Boss... help me..."
Even in my dreams, I called for him.
I was already in too deep.
