The next day, Serena dutifully cleaned the house.
Sebastian didn't spare her a single glance, staying with Aveline the entire time.
That evening, he gently handed her a glass of milk: "Babe, your wounds just healed. Drink some milk to help you sleep."
Aveline sensed something was up and secretly poured out the milk, pretending to drink it.
Sure enough, that night after she "fell asleep," Sebastian kissed her forehead and got up to open the door.
"Honey, can you really fuck me in front of Miss Hart?"
Serena's excited voice drifted over.
"Silly girl, when have I ever broken a promise to you?"
Aveline's eyelashes trembled violently. She opened her eyes and through the floor-to-ceiling windows, saw Sebastian pressing Serena against the wall behind her, kissing her inch by inch until they became one...
Her palm ached from her nails, but her heart felt nothing anymore.
Because he didn't deserve it.
The next morning, Sebastian went to the office and Aveline stayed in her room designing.
She didn't want to see Serena, so servants brought her breakfast and lunch.
When knocking came again that evening, it was Serena at the door.
She held a tray, her tone both challenging and smug.
"Aveline Hart, I saw you outside the conference room at the hotel that day. I never thought someone as proud as you would lose all your fight after losing one hand. You can actually put up with this?"
"Makes sense though. You're just a cripple now, dependent on Sebastian for everything. So you don't dare oppose anything he does."
Seeing her made Aveline physically sick. She asked coldly: "What exactly are you trying to say?"
"I'm saying that even if you become a complete doormat, you still can't keep Sebastian. I'll corner you step by step until you have nowhere to run and disappear completely. Sebastian belongs to me alone!"
Aveline clenched her fist, then abandoned the idea of slapping her.
Hitting her would only dirty her own hands. She'd get her revenge in other ways, with interest.
Aveline didn't want to engage. She was about to close the door when she heard familiar footsteps.
Serena immediately switched to a pitiful expression and fell backward.
Rice and soup from the tray spilled all over her. She raised her reddened hand, saying mournfully: "Miss Hart, I know you're still angry with me. As long as it helps you feel better, I can endure however many times you push me."
A flash of heartache crossed Sebastian's eyes.
Aveline felt disgusted: "I didn't push her. She's putting on an act."
Serena cried even harder: "Miss Hart, if saying that makes you feel better, then let's just say I fell on my own."
Sebastian's expression shifted slightly. Finally, he looked away with restraint and turned to Aveline: "Babe, I believe you. Since you two can't get along, I'll send her away right now."
"What?" Serena looked up in shock, tears still on her face.
Sebastian said coldly: "Don't say anything else. Go pack your bags now."
Serena was stunned for a moment, then bit her lip and held back her grievance: "Yes, I'll go right away."
"Okay, babe, don't get upset over irrelevant people. I came home early today to spend time with you. Let's go out for a nice dinner."
Sebastian took Aveline's hand and led her to the walk-in closet, personally selecting a dress and matching jewelry for her.
"You get dressed first. I'll go throw that woman out."
He sounded ruthless, but through the ring, Aveline heard him gently coaxing Serena.
"Wife, I'm sorry you had to endure that today. Of course it hurt me to see Aveline push you. But this was all part of my plan. Her accepting that I'm sending you away means you're completely free from now on."
"What... what do you mean?"
"I mean go back to the villa for now, but from today on, you can go wherever you want. Text me when you get there to let me know you're safe."
Serena was so moved she choked up: "Honey, you're so good to me."
Sebastian just chuckled: "We're husband and wife. If I'm not good to you, who should I be good to?"
