The Paris Design Competition was global, with contestants from around the world.
The early favorite to win was already decided—a local Parisian contestant named Vivian.
Vivian had a face like a national sweetheart, a supermodel's figure, and came from a prestigious family.
Her superior conditions attracted countless fans.
Rumors said that someone as excellent as her wouldn't normally enter such competitions, but she'd made an exception for someone she had feelings for.
Like all the other contestants, Aveline was curious about her.
But Vivian was rather arrogant and never looked at people directly.
The competition began quickly. When only one advancement spot remained, two contestants hadn't yet presented their work.
Aveline and Vivian.
For dramatic effect, the organizers had them appear together to showcase their pieces simultaneously.
Aveline took a deep breath and walked onto the stage. Looking at the packed audience below, she wasn't overly nervous, and even smiled slightly when she spotted Lyra cheering for her in the front row.
But when she saw the judge sitting in the center, she nearly lost her composure.
Caspian Saintclair.
He was actually the head judge of the Paris Design Competition.
But for Aveline, this was just a brief moment. She quickly composed herself and explained her design concept.
"I designed a T-shirt. It looks simple, but I follow the principle that simplicity is the ultimate sophistication. Good design paired with appropriate materials will make this garment flow like water, highlighting everyone's best features to the fullest while not constraining them, giving them free and uplifting energy..."
She spoke in fluent French from the start.
She'd studied French while preparing to go abroad, and had continued practicing while learning to design with her left hand over the past three years.
Now it seemed effortless, but only because she'd worked hard in private for so long.
Through her eloquent presentation, not only the judges but many audience members were moved.
Vivian beside her frowned slightly and made a contemptuous sound through her nose.
But when she looked at Caspian, her usually proud light blue eyes held hints of tenderness.
Vivian held up her piece, looking only at Caspian throughout her presentation.
"I designed a wedding dress. My greatest dream is to wear it and walk into marriage with my beloved. Tell me, will my wish come true?"
Her long lashes fluttered like a graceful fairy.
Caspian's expression remained calm, his gaze professional.
"That question isn't within the scope of this competition's judging criteria, but my verdict is: eliminated."
"Why?" Vivian seemed surprised. She looked hurt and angry, her tone turning accusatory.
"Isn't my work perfect enough?"
Caspian: "At least in my view, it's too crafted and lacks soul. My choice for advancement is: Autumn."
After all nine judges made their choices consecutively.
Aveline advanced.
Vivian's face completely darkened. For the first time, she looked directly at Aveline.
"First, I don't accept that her work is better than mine. Second, I even doubt that such work was created by her personally. Haven't you all noticed? Her right hand is fake! An unknown newcomer making it to the semi-finals with her left hand? Sorry, but I question the fairness and integrity of this competition."
