Linda was in high spirits, humming a cheerful tune as she watered the flowers.
'Jocelyn would be home soon.' Linda thought, 'Sienna, you won't be able to act so arrogant for long. Your good days are about to come to an end.
'Don't worry. I'll get rid of you and Vivian for good. You'll never set foot in this house again, and you'll learn the price of crossing me.'
As Sienna walked past, she shot her a glacial, indifferent glance.
Linda turned pale with fright. The tool slipped from her grasp, hitting the ground before landing painfully on her foot.
Sienna said nothing, indifferently looking away.
Linda gritted her teeth. 'Damn bitch. She did it on purpose just to scare me. She meant every bit of it,' she thought.
Lana placed the documents she'd found on Sienna's desk. As she watched Sienna pick them up, she felt nervous. 'I hope Miss Enna doesn't get mad after reading this,' she thought.
Sienna's gaze darkened as she scanned every word on the document. 'Jocelyn?' she thought. 'When I left, Amber wasn't even eight. A decade has passed.'
"Lana, this information is far from complete," Sienna said with a slight frown.
Lana immediately bowed and explained nervously, "Miss Enna, it's my fault. Since Miss Amber has been staying with Jocelyn all this time, many details were—"
Sienna set down the documents. "And the other one?"
"Miss Enna, regarding Miss Winifred—" Lana answered, trembling. Before she could finish, a knock came at the door.
It was Reno. "Miss Enna, emergency. Miss Vivian is in trouble."
Sienna shot up from her seat and strode out. "What's going on?" she demanded.
Reno reported anxiously, "Anya took Miss Vivian to a business conference. Everything was fine, but on the way back, something must have triggered Miss Vivian.
"She bit Anya. Now she's in the hospital in critical condition."
Sienna immediately called Jason and rushed to the hospital. Jason was already waiting outside the ward when she arrived.
Just as Sienna was about to enter, Jason stopped her. "Enna, Vivian is not doing well. Please be careful when you go in."
Sienna nodded and opened the door. There, in the corner, sat a disheveled girl with unkempt hair, her arms covered in scratches, trembling uncontrollably.
At the mere sight, Sienna's eyes welled up with tears. This was the same sister who had once been so proud and vivacious.
"Stay away." Just as Sienna moved closer, Vivian lashed out, flailing her arms wildly in panic.
Jason grabbed Sienna's arm. "Wait. I need to talk to you."
Sienna turned to Lana and Reno. "Keep a close eye on Vivian. Don't let her harm herself."
"Yes, Miss Enna." They nodded.
Once outside, Jason removed his glasses, wiped them clean, and put them back on.
Sienna grew impatient and snapped coldly, "Stop wasting my time."
Jason felt awkward. Sienna had seen right through him.
"Enna, when I conducted her psychological evaluation earlier, I could tell she was deliberately hiding something. Given her current condition, I'm now almost certain what that was," he said.
"Speak," Sienna demanded.
Jason took a deep breath and uttered, "Sexual assault."
Sienna's ice-cold, ruthless gaze faltered at those words. Her pupils contracted sharply as she stared at Jason in stunned silence.
Jason instinctively recoiled. Enna's presence was as chilling as ever.
Sienna demanded sharply, "Chances?"
Jason replied, "One hundred percent."
Sienna closed her eyes briefly. When she opened them again, she strode into the ward without hesitation. Jason stood by the door, sedative at the ready just in case.
Vivian's eyes were hollow, brimming with boundless terror. She tried to claw at herself again, but Reno and Lana swiftly intercepted her.
Both were highly trained. When Vivian lunged at them, snapping and trying to bite, they dodged with practiced ease.
Vivian was like a caged beast now. She'd lash out recklessly at anyone who came near her.
Sienna gently cupped Vivian's face in both hands, gazing into her terrified eyes. "Vivian, it's okay," she soothed. "It's me, Sienna."
Vivian stared blankly at Sienna, dazed. After what felt like an eternity, recognition finally dawned in her eyes. In a weak whisper, she called out, "Sienna?"
Sienna signaled for Lana and Reno to release Vivian. Though hesitant, they let go, and Vivian immediately threw herself into Sienna's arms, sobbing, "Sienna?"
Sienna gently stroked Vivian's head and softly ran her hand down her back. "It's me. Don't be scared," she whispered soothingly. "Vivian, tell me. What's wrong?"
"Sienna, they didn't touch me. They didn't." Vivian let out a heart-wrenching scream.
Sienna just held her tight, silent and unwavering.
Jason administered the sedative injection.
Vivian gradually grew limp, and within moments, passed out in Sienna's arms.
After settling Vivian into bed, Sienna commanded icily, "Get Anya here."
Anya had just finished dressing the bite wound on her arm when Sienna arrived. She hurried over. "Miss Enna, I'm so sorry. This is all my fault. I shouldn't have taken Vivian to the conference."
Sienna glanced at the wound on her arm and stepped aside. "Tell me exactly what happened, from the beginning," she demanded.
Anya had striking crimson hair and wore a tailored suit that accentuated her slender yet curvaceous figure. She pushed her glasses up the bridge of her nose as she said, "Miss Enna, I stayed with Vivian throughout the business conference.
"We never left each other's side. She showed no signs of distress during the event. But after we left and got in the car, she took a phone call, and within half an hour, she had a complete mental breakdown. I rushed her to the hospital immediately."
"She took a phone call?" Sienna cut in, zeroing in on the key detail.
"Yes, Miss Enna. When I pulled the car around, the call had already ended. I admit I failed to notice Vivian's expression at that moment," Anya explained.
"Reno?" Sienna commanded.
Reno immediately got the hint. She pulled up her laptop and, in no time, tracked down the person behind the call to Vivian. "Miss Enna, this guy's called Dash, a notorious punk from Weststreet. He usually stays at—"
Sienna commanded sharply, "Let's go."
Lana and Reno eagerly followed. When Anya tried to join them, Lana stopped her and said, "You stay here with Miss Vivian. Call us immediately if anything happens."
Anya finally stopped in her tracks. When Jason returned to the ward, he saw a red-haired woman. Frowning, he walked in and asked, "Who are you?"
Just one look and Jason froze. 'Damn, she is so stunning,' he wondered.
Her perfectly tailored black suit hugged her curves, the jacket straining slightly across her ample chest. Gold-rimmed glasses perched elegantly on her petite face and high-bridged nose.
Behind the lenses, her eyes gleamed with intelligence and a razor-sharp edge, radiating the allure of a mature woman. Her long, silky crimson hair cascaded smoothly over her shoulders, each strand shimmering faintly in the light.
Her immaculate yet subtle makeup complemented her poised demeanor, a perfect balance of sophistication and seriousness.
Jason was an avid anime fan, and to him, this woman looked like an elite queen straight out of an anime. Her presence wasn't as icy and formidable as Sienna's, but she was still nothing to scoff at.
Anya sized up the man before her, her tone cool and clipped. "I'm her supervisor. Is there something you need?"
Jason withdrew his gaze. "I'm the doctor. Where's Enna? I need to discuss Vivian's condition with her."
Anya folded her arms across her chest, her injured hand not bothering her in the least. "Miss Enna is handling something right now. You'll have to wait."
"Oh, so you're Vivian's supervisor? What's your name?" Jason asked.
Anya said icily, "I don't owe you my name."
Jason was speechless for a moment.
