'Before, Vivian would never have dared to speak to Jocelyn like this. It's all Sienna's fault. Who knows what poison she's been feeding them?' Jocelyn wondered, 'Now they've all become so bold and rebellious.'
Jocelyn seethed with rage inside, yet was forced to maintain an innocent facade. "Vivian, I just can't bear to part with Amber. I never used her as an excuse. I've always treated her like my sister. How could you think of me like that?"
Vivian snapped, her voice dripping with contempt, "Enough already. Just looking at that face of yours makes me sick. I'm not like some people, dumb as a rock, can't tell right from wrong. You're just a plain, shameless idiot."
Hearing this, Amber stiffened. Vivian was mocking her.
Amber lifted her tear-filled eyes to Vivian, biting her lower lip so hard it nearly bled, her cheeks flushed as tears streamed down her face.
Seeing Amber's tear-streaked, flushed face, Vivian felt the words she meant to say catch in her throat. Her tone softened involuntarily.
Vivian glared at Amber and snapped, "Amber, she's a Turner and you're a Hart. You're not even related. If you still want to be used as a pawn, then just go. If we didn't share a drop of blood, I wouldn't bother warning you, idiot.
"If you go with her, you'd better change your surname to Turner. That way, you'll have nothing to do with us, and any embarrassment you cause won't be our problem. Go on. Be her sickeningly sweet sister forever."
Amber clenched her fists and shouted at Vivian, "I'll never take the Turner name. I hate you, Vivian. You're horrible, a vicious, scheming witch."
Amber's face flushed crimson, her cheeks puffed up in anger, the flames of fury dancing in her pretty eyes.
With that, Amber dashed upstairs, nearly colliding with Sienna in the hallway. Sienna reached out and pulled her into a tight embrace.
Amber froze for a moment as Sienna's gentle warmth washed over her, carrying that unique scent only she had. Then, all her pent-up grievances surged like a rising tide.
With a choked sob, Amber buried herself in Sienna's arms and finally broke down, weeping.
Lana relaxed slightly with relief as she quietly let out a sigh.
Vivian crossed her arms, feeling a pang of bitterness as she watched the scene unfold. 'Given today's special circumstances, I'll let it slide this time,' she thought to herself. 'But tomorrow, I wouldn't let Amber keep playing the victim.'
Jocelyn watched as Amber threw herself into Sienna's arms. Digging her nails deep into her thigh so hard it hurt, she used the sharp pain to keep herself grounded, her eyes burning with jealousy, resentment, and bitter envy.
The pawn she had so carefully cultivated had been effortlessly swept away by Sienna.
Jocelyn seethed inwardly, 'How dare she. What right does she have?'
Sienna gently patted Amber's back and gave Lana a meaningful glance. Lana immediately understood, grabbed Jocelyn, and threw her out of the Hart residence, delivering a couple of satisfying kicks to vent her anger.
Jocelyn shrieked, "How dare you treat me like this? Just wait. I'll be back, and I swear I'll make you all pay for this."
Lana fixed Jocelyn with a cold, piercing stare that made her hair stand on end. "Miss Turner, you'd better start worrying about how you're going to survive tonight."
With that, Lana strode off, her heels clicking sharply on the floor, leaving a fuming Jocelyn behind.
Sienna gently lifted Amber's face, taking in her tear-streaked, mascara-smudged appearance. She pulled out a handkerchief and delicately dabbed away her tears.
"Don't cry," Sienna murmured soothingly. "As long as I'm here, no one will ever make you leave."
Amber looked up, pouting as she mumbled sulkily, "Really?"
'But you didn't even try to stop me from leaving. In your heart, is Vivian your only real sister?' Amber wondered.
Sienna smiled faintly, her aristocratic features softening with tenderness. The radiant expression left Amber momentarily spellbound. 'She's so beautiful,' Amber thought, utterly captivated.
But then Amber noticed the damp spot on Sienna's blouse. Her tears had soaked through. Instantly, a wave of embarrassment washed over her.
"Amber," Sienna said softly, "I know you've spent these ten years with Jocelyn. I won't ask you to change overnight, nor will I stop you from seeing her.
"But remember this. No matter when or where, the Hart family will always be your one true home, and we, your blood relatives, are your real family."
Sienna knew that if she interfered too much, it would bring out Amber's rebellious streak, and she might even end up resenting her. That was not the kind of relationship Sienna wanted with her.
They were family, and it was Sienna's job to help Amber change gradually, to let her open up. Step by step, Amber would see people for who they really were.
It was not because Sienna forced Amber, but because she realized it herself.
Amber was deeply moved, etching those words in her heart. At a loss for words, she could only nod.
Sienna gently ruffled Amber's hair and praised her, saying with a soft smile, "Good girl. Want a piece of candy?"
Amber's cheeks instantly flushed crimson, her rebellious lock of hair springing up as she clenched her empty fists. She pouted, "I'm not a kid anymore. I stopped eating candy ages ago."
Upon seeing the candy, Sienna held out, Amber's hand instinctively reached for it, only for it to be snatched away at the last second by Vivian.
"Sienna, if she doesn't want it, that's her loss. She just doesn't appreciate kindness. Yeah, so sweet," Vivian said, already unwrapping the candy and popping it into her mouth with a triumphant grin.
Vivian's smug, triumphant expression instantly made Amber see red. Amber shouted, "Vivian, I'm going to get you. Give me back my candy. That's mine. Give it back."
Amber lunged at her, trying to make her spit it out. Realizing she couldn't stop her, Vivian bolted.
"No way. What do you mean, your candy? Didn't you say you didn't want it? Well, it's already in my mouth, Amber. Serves you right for being such a stubborn brat," Vivian called back as she ran.
Vivian grabbed her stuff and dashed out of the Hart residence without a backward glance.
Amber stamped her foot in anger, wishing she could just beat Vivian badly.
'Damn you, Vivian, I'll never rest until you're destroyed. We're sworn enemies,' Amber wondered.
"Here, all for you. Just have a few each day, okay? Now go get ready. We're off to the amusement park," Sienna said.
Amber looked at the jar in her hands. This time, without her usual pretenses, she hugged it to her chest, took out candy, and popped it into her mouth.
'So delicious, absolutely divine,' she thought, her eyes lighting up. She had never tasted candies like these before.
Lana watched as the rebellious lock of hair on Amber's head swayed from side to side, her eyes sparkling with affection. She just wanted to ruffle Amber's hair.
"Miss Sienna, Miss Amber really loves the custom-made candies you ordered from Frandell," Lana reported.
Sienna looked at Amber's retreating figure and smiled gently, "As long as she likes them, that's all that matters."
Lana asked, "Miss Enna, what should we do about Jocelyn and Linda?"
Sienna's gaze grew cold and detached. "No rush. Let Jocelyn show her hand first. I want to see how long the mastermind behind her can remain hidden."
"Yes, Miss Enna. One more thing. Mr. Preston requested to see you tonight," said Lana.
At the mention of Ethan, Sienna turned, sat down, and took a composed sip of coffee. "Not seeing him."
"Understood, Miss Enna," Lana said.
In the Preston residence, Nora had a dream about Sienna. Staring vacantly at the ceiling, tears streamed silently down her cheeks. She had no idea how long she lay there, but by the time she stirred, half her pillow was already soaked through.
'Enna, is this your way of telling me to get a divorce?' Nora whispered to herself. 'I think it's time for me to let go, to end this marriage and move on.
'Thank you, Enna, for coming to see me in my dreams and talking to me, even if just for a moment. This afternoon, I'll visit your grave and bring your gifts. No matter where you are, please don't let yourself suffer.'
"Nora, you're awake," a voice sounded.
