When he saw the words "Tyson Godard" on the caller ID, Edmond frowned. He couldn't believe that Tyson would call him at this moment.
At first, he thought it was just Max trying to delay things, but Max was right here, and no one was holding a phone.

Edmond froze, unbelieving, and snatched the phone from the assistant. "Is that you, Tyson?"
"What? Now you're throwing a tantrum and don't even recognize me as your brother?" Tyson's voice sounded again, and just from his tone, the pressure of an authoritative figure could be felt.
Edmond's head buzzed, his lips trembling. "You-you're still alive?"
"So, you really want me dead that much?" Tyson asked.
The question froze Edmond in place.
"N-no way! This must be fake." Edmond looked at Max. "What kind of trick are you pulling? AI or a voice changer?"
With how advanced technology was now, it wasn't a secret that voices could be altered. In fact, some people used this method to scam others. In any case, Edmond wasn't going to believe it until he saw Tyson with his own eyes.
Tyson's voice came through the phone again. "Max, tell Edmond to come upstairs."
As soon as Tyson finished speaking, one of the guards stationed upstairs came rushing down.
When he saw Max, his face lit up with excitement. "Boss, Mr. Godard asks everyone to go upstairs."
If a phone call could be faked, then with Max's trusted people coming down to deliver the message, it was definitely real.
"Sir's awake!" Ocean, who was closest to the stairs, dashed upstairs first.
Max followed closely behind, pushing open the door, and immediately saw Tyson leaning against the headboard, his eyes clearly open.
"Dad..." he called softly, unsure for a moment if he was dreaming.

Tyson looked at Max and nodded, acknowledging everything Max had done. "I'm awake."
Ocean leaped to Tyson's side, crying like a child.

Ocean wiped his tears, not caring what Tyson said. As long as Tyson was alive, that was enough for him.
Edmond led the group up to the third floor. When they were on the first floor, the smell of food had masked the scent, but as soon as they reached the third floor, the smell of medicine hit him.
His eyes narrowed. "What's going on? Why does it smell like medicine?"
