At lunchtime, the crew took a brief break.
Sheela walked over holding her low-fat meal, looking at Paisley's boxed lunch with longing eyes.
"Do you want some?" Paisley asked.
Sheela pursed her lips and finally shook her head. "I'll just eat mine."
"Alright." Paisley didn't insist, as she took her lunch and walked outside.
"Nion, where are you going?" Sheela asked.
"I'm going to eat outside so you don't get jealous looking at my food." Paisley teased, then headed toward a deserted prop storage area where hardly anyone came.
She randomly picked a spot that seemed clean enough and sat down on the ground. When she opened the lunchbox, the delicious smell wafted out.
She thought, 'Hmm, today's lunch isn't bad.'
However, before she could take a bite, her unusually sensitive nose picked up a sour, sweaty smell.
It was the smell of sweat from intense physical labor, a result of excessive perspiration.
As the scent grew stronger, Paisley's peripheral vision quickly caught sight of a figure.
Just as the man was about to rush toward her, a tall figure from another direction came speeding over.
In the next moment, the sweaty man was knocked to the ground by a strong, long leg.
Then, a group of people rushed out from all around and quickly restrained the man.
"Paisley, are you an idiot? Going to such a remote place to eat by yourself?" Dominick's furious voice came from above her head. His eyes were bloodshot, staring at her with a look of intense fear.
Paisley stood up. She hadn't seen Dominick when she came in earlier, and she had thought he wouldn't show up anymore.
"What are you doing here?" she asked.
Dominick was almost burning with rage. "What do you mean? If I weren't here, you'd be dead!"
He thought, 'Knowing that someone was scheming against her, she's still so unaware as to go alone to a secluded place to eat. Where's that boyfriend of hers? Why that Max didn't protect her?'
"As long as I'm here, my teacher won't die." A lazy female voice came from the corner, and Linna slowly walked out, her eyes full of dissatisfaction with Dominick.
Linna thought, 'It's all this man's fault. He made it so I couldn't perform in front of my teacher.'
Seeing Linna, Dominick paused for a moment, thinking, 'Calling Paisley that way? Does that mean she is Paisley's disciple?'
While Dominick was sizing up Linna, Linna had already shot out with a powerful punch to the man's stomach who was trying to attack Paisley.
With that punch, the man's face instantly twisted, and in the next second, he threw up.
"Damn, that's disgusting." Linna glared at the man in disdain, then threw another punch, this time directly hitting his cheek.
The man's face jerked to the side, blood and teeth scattering all over the ground.
The few of Dominick's guards around them couldn't help but gasp at how ferocious Linna was.
'This woman's punches are way too brutal,' he thought.
Seeing the man about to die, Paisley quickly stopped her. "Alright, Linna, don't kill him."
Linna grinned and pulled back her hand. "Don't worry, Paisley. I know what I'm doing. I only hit places I can hit."
Dominick finally realized Paisley wasn't stupid; she was just playing the bait.
He scratched his nose awkwardly. "I didn't mean to follow you."
He had truly just wanted to quietly observe Paisley from a distance until he saw her walking alone with a lunchbox to a secluded place, followed by a strange man, which made him suspicious.
Sure enough, just as he arrived, he saw the strange man approaching Paisley with a knife. At that moment, he couldn't think much. He just rushed out immediately.
Paisley could hate him, but he didn't want her to die.
Paisley didn't have the mood to deal with Dominick. She walked up to the man, who was beaten beyond recognition by Linna, stared into his eyes, and slightly curled her lips. "It's Christina again, isn't it? She sent you to kill me, didn't she?"
The man's face, swollen from Linna's punch, immediately tightened when he heard Paisley's words.
Especially when he heard the "again" part.
Seeing the man tight-lipped and unwilling to speak, Paisley said, "It's fine; you don't have to speak now, but you'll speak sooner or later."
"Christina?" Dominick recalled the name and looked at Paisley in shock. "Isn't Christina your mother?"
At the mention of her mother, Paisley's eyes darkened.
She let out a light laugh and turned to Dominick. "Alright, Mr. Vanderbilt, thank you for your bravery today. I'll take this person with me now."
Dominick thought Paisley might say something to him, but instead, she really left without even looking back.
Dominick thought, 'Paisley, you don't have a heart. No, she has a heart, but her heart has long since stopped being with me.'
