Gregory was still in shock from everything that had just unfolded when Paisley handed him the document. Staring at the bold title "Paternity Test Report" on the cover, he felt completely lost but still turned the pages.
The unease in Christina's heart grew stronger. With every page Gregory flipped, the anxiety within her intensified. When she saw Paisley's ambiguous smirk, her uneasiness peaked.
"Paisley, what dirty tricks are you planning against me this time? I'm not afraid of you." Christina forced herself to stay calm.
"When it comes to being dirty, no one beats you." Paisley had always preferred open schemes.
Christina looked at Paisley's confident expression and Zain's increasingly violent struggles beside her. At that moment, she finally realized something.
She suddenly looked up at Gregory and screamed hoarsely, "Gregory, don't look! It's all Paisley's trick! Don't look! Don't fall for it! Gregory!"
But it was too late. Gregory had already flipped to the last page of the report and read out the results word by word. "According to the DNA analysis, Zain is confirmed to be Brittany's biological father."
"What-what does this mean?" Gregory stared blankly at Paisley.
"It means that not only am I not your biological daughter, but Brittany isn't either," Paisley explained with a feigned kindness.
"You! Paisley, you're spouting nonsense. I'll kill you!" Christina was seething with rage, her eyes burning with fury. If she weren't restrained, she would have lunged at Paisley.
Gregory looked at Christina's furious reaction and then down at the report in his hands.
He quickly processed the reality—neither of his two daughters was actually his.
By now, he fully understood. Paisley was never his and Christina's biological daughter. She was actually Enya and Tyson's child.
It was all because Christina had been jealous of Enya back then. She had secretly swapped their children.
Later, after Tyson left, Enya raised her child alone, causing Brittany's quality of life to decline.
So Christina hired someone to kill Enya and abandoned three-year-old Paisley. Then, as if everything was meant to be, she brought Brittany into the Sullivan family under the guise of an adopted daughter.
Christina had done all of this behind Gregory's back. Gregory had never known any of it.
Until now, Gregory had always believed that Paisley was his biological daughter. But it turned out that Brittany was his real daughter.
Before Gregory could even digest that shock, he was now being told that Brittany wasn't his daughter either.
Gregory turned to Christina, clutching the report tightly in his hand. "Christina, what the hell is going on? Who is my real child? Tell me! Speak!"
At this moment, Gregory no longer cared who was the true heiress of the Godard family. He only cared about who his daughter really was.
He could accept that Brittany wasn't the Godard family's rightful heiress. But he couldn't accept the fact that Brittany was Christina's biological daughter but not his.
He thought, 'Won't that mean that I have been cuckolded since 20 years ago?'
"Say something!" Gregory felt like an utter fool.
Facing Gregory's interrogation, Christina instinctively denied it. "Honey, don't believe that wretched girl Paisley. She's just trying to drive a wedge between us. Trust me, Brittany is your daughter—your real daughter."
"It's simple. If you want to know the truth, just do a paternity test," Paisley said coldly. Though she despised Christina, she had to admit that Christina had always been scheming for Brittany's sake.
Even now, when Brittany had no chance of becoming the Godard heiress, Christina still wanted to secure a final safeguard for her—Gregory.
At the very least, Gregory was a normal man without a criminal record. Even if the Sullivan family's company eventually collapsed, Gregory could still provide Brittany with what she wanted.
Paisley wouldn't give Christina or Brittany that chance.
"Paisley!" At this moment, Christina looked like a vengeful demon with a contorted face.
"That's right. A paternity test." Gregory, overwhelmed by emotions, immediately grabbed Brittany and dragged her toward the door. "Come on. You're coming with me."
Brittany had dressed meticulously for the banquet tonight. She wore an extravagant, form-fitting gown adorned with diamonds, paired with eight-centimeter heels. Every inch of her was dripping in luxury. But now, she was in a completely disgraceful state.
Gregory's grip made her stumble forward, and she fell hard onto her knees.
The gemstones embedded in her gown, once a symbol of elegance, turned into weapons against her own body. As Brittany hit the ground heavily, the delicate skin on her knees was cut and scraped by the gems.
She screamed in pain, but no one came to help her.
Gregory continued dragging her without a care for her injuries. "Move. Stop resisting. I need to know whose bastard you really are!"
The word "bastard" pierced through Brittany's heart. Mustering all her strength, she shoved Gregory away. She pushed herself up with trembling arms, struggling to stand.
The force of her fall had severely damaged her gown. Her carefully styled hair and flawless makeup were now completely ruined.
"I am not a bastard. I am the Godard heiress. My father is Tyson. Stay away from me, you piece of trash!" Brittany refused to believe a single word they had just said.
"Bastard!" Gregory roared and slapped Brittany hard across the face. He couldn't tolerate Brittany humiliating him in front of everyone.
The slap was forceful, making Brittany's face jerk to one side as her entire body staggered in that direction.
Christina screamed in agony, her eyes filled with hatred toward Gregory. "Gregory, how dare you hit her?"
Brittany wobbled as she stood up, but she didn't look at Gregory. Instead, her eyes were locked on Paisley.
"It's all your fault. I'll kill you!" Brittany's disheveled appearance made her look even more like a vengeful spirit than Christina.
But before Brittany could get close to Paisley, Leo and his men restrained her.
Brittany thrashed and struggled, looking both pathetic and deranged. "Paisley, why do you always go against me? I was living just fine in the Sullivan family, then you came back.
"Now I've returned Christina and Gregory to you, and you're still trying to take my dad! Why do you always take everything from me? Why do you have to steal everything? Why don't you just die?"
The people around, after understanding the whole story, found Brittany's words completely unreasonable.
"Hey. Calm down." Leo couldn't stand listening any longer and tightened his grip on her. "Steal what? Everything was always my lady's to begin with. If anyone stole, it was you. You and that heartless mother of yours owed my lady everything."
"I'm the real lady!" Brittany kept struggling, refusing to accept reality.
But then Leo let out a mocking snort. "You? The real lady? Your biological father is right over there."
Leo freed one hand and pointed toward Zain, who was restrained by the police.
