Bella originally wanted to pull Grayson away, but just halfway through, Grayson shook him off and ran back. "Sonny!"
Right now, besides Serena's crying, Grayson couldn't hear anything else. No matter how much Bella called him from behind, he ignored it.
Tommy saw Grayson coming back and immediately threatened. "What are you doing? Don't you fear me hitting you?"
Just a moment ago, he was terrified, constantly calling for his mom and dad. Tommy didn't believe Grayson actually had the guts to interfere. He figured a couple of threats would scare him off.
Grayson was indeed scared; he was too afraid to even look at Tommy. Two voices were battling in his mind. 'Don't go, you'll be hit, and it'll hurt so much! But that's Rena, my sister!'
He felt like he couldn't breathe, and before the beating even started, his tears began to well up in his eyes.
"Ah! I'm going for it! I'm going for it!" Grayson shut his eyes and, not wanting to look at Tommy's frightening face, ran straight toward him.
Before Tommy could react, Grayson ran into him, knocking him to the ground.
"I'll kill you! Kill you!" Grayson kept his eyes shut, pressing down on Tommy and flailing his fists wildly.
Tommy was stunned by Grayson's random punches. Just as he was about to speak, a fist landed directly on his mouth. His lip was cut by his teeth, and it hurt terribly. "Grayson, are you out of your mind? We're on the same side!"
Grayson stayed on top of Tommy, crying while swinging his fists, landing another punch on his face. "We're not on the same side! Definitely not!"
Getting hit again, Tommy's anger flared up, his temper skyrocketing. By now, he had completely thrown out Keeley's warnings. His eyes turned red, like an angry bulldog. In one swift move, he flipped Grayson over, pinning him down.
"You dare hit me? I'll kill you!" Tommy's fists were far stronger than Grayson's. He sat on Grayson, landing punch after punch on his body.
Grayson cried out in pain from the blows. "It hurts so much!"
Grayson still kept his eyes shut, wildly swinging his fists around. But his attacks had little effect; Tommy's punches kept coming, landing one after another. Just as Grayson thought he was going to be beaten to death, Tommy's punches suddenly stopped.
"Let go of me!" Tommy yelled.
"I won't." It was Rena's voice.
Grayson opened his tear-filled eyes and saw Serena's red, bloodied face, tightly clinging to Tommy to stop him from continuing the beating. "Grayson, get up."
"Rena!" said Grayson.
She was saving him. Seeing Serena's face red from effort, her chin covered in blood, her hair messy, and her princess dress dirty, Grayson felt a cord snap inside him, and in an instant, tears flooded out.
"Let go!" Tommy used all his strength to angrily push Serena away and punched her shoulder.
Serena cried out in pain and fell to the ground again. It must have hurt badly; she didn't get up for a while.
"Rena!" Grayson's eyes widened, veins popping on his tender neck, "Ah! I'll kill you!"
It was as if Grayson's entire body was filled with blood as he forced himself up. He rammed his head straight into Tommy's head. The collision made Tommy dizzy, blood streaming from his nose. Grayson wasn't in a better state either, his eyes spinning, blood dripping from his nose.
Tommy recovered faster than Grayson. His eyes burning with rage, he grabbed Grayson, ready to strike back. Grayson also grabbed him, and the two boys instantly started wrestling with each other.
Bella stood not far away, watching the situation get worse and worse. She finally started to get scared and ran out crying.
Inside the main banquet hall, Paisley had just met a few distinguished figures in Montera, thanks to Tyson's introduction. Edmond and his son, along with Zim, were accompanying her the whole time.
Initially, Edmond and his son were waiting to see Paisley make a fool of herself and embarrass Tyson. To their surprise, Paisley handled everything with ease, and not only that, she had some very unique insights. Many of the angles she considered were ones Edmond himself hadn't even thought of.
"Hey? Paisy, why do you look so familiar to me?" asked one of Tyson's old friends.
He worked for the Montera government now and held a position where a single word from him could decide the fate of an entire business.
Paisley tilted her head and looked at him, smiling, "I think you look familiar too, Mr. Drego."
"Really!" said Jay Drego.
"Jay, don't get too familiar with my daughter. I know what you're up to," Tyson teased.
This big shot, whom Tyson called Jay, had a son. Ever since he and Paisley had met, Tyson felt like every man in the world was trying to make a move on his daughter.
Tyson's comment made the other big shots around them laugh. Only Edmond's smile seemed a bit forced.
However, before Edmond could even fix his smile, he heard Jay say, "No, really, I do think Paisy looks familiar. We must have met somewhere before."
After saying that, Jay began to seriously think about it. No one hurried him; they all waited for him to remember. Paisley was also curious when she had met this Montera political figure.
After a moment, Jay's eyes suddenly lit up. "I remember now! At Cloud Crest Winery headquarters!"
Everyone in the room knew Cloud Crest Winery. Even the wine they were serving today, Cloud Crest Reserve, was from Cloud Crest Winery.
As for the premium craft beer, it was a rare delicacy that needed to be kept in private storage. It wouldn't be served casually to guests.
Anna was also fond of good wine and often drank premium craft beer. But it was limited each year, and sometimes they didn't have enough. Tyson had only a few bottles of it, and he still hadn't been able to bring himself to drink them.
"You met Paisy at Cloud Crest Winery?" Edmond asked, utterly confused.
Jay nodded. "Yes, exactly. At that time, I was representing Montera to visit Brightmoor. The first place I was told to visit was Cloud Crest Winery, and Paisy was the one who hosted me."
As soon as he said that, everyone was stunned. For someone at Jay's level, when visiting a company, the one responsible for the reception would be the company's highest executives. So that meant Paisley was a high-level executive at Cloud Crest Winery.
Realizing this, Edmond gasped. He thought, 'Wait a minute. Cloud Crest.'
"Paisy, you even said you'd send me a few bottles of premium craft beer from that year. You forgot, didn't you?" Jay chuckled at Paisley.
Hearing Jay mention it, Paisley suddenly remembered that she had indeed hosted some leaders from Montera. But she was certain she had never promised to send him any premium craft beer.
After all, she only brewed a small batch with the master every year, so a bottle or two might be possible, but not several. It was clear that Jay was just trying to trick her.
But she couldn't say that, so she just smiled, "I've been really busy this year and haven't had time to brew. Next year, I'll send you two bottles."
"You brewed it yourself?" Jay quickly caught onto the clue in Paisley's words.
Paisley nodded. "Yes, that's right. All the craft beer is brewed by me. It's mostly for my personal consumption, so the quantity is limited every year."
