Meanwhile, Maria and Serena were ecstatic in the other presidential suite. They ran all over the room, exploring every corner with excitement. Serena, in particular, was overjoyed.
The room had a specially prepared play area for Serena, filled with toys and even a mini castle she could freely crawl in and out of.
Wendy, the manager responsible for receiving Paisley, smiled and said, "These were all prepared under Mr. Beaumont's instructions for you and your daughter."
Paisley replied politely, "Thank you for the trouble."
"It's no trouble at all. You're an honored guest of Mr. Beaumont, so this is the least we could do," Wendy reassured her.
Wendy had missed Paisley's arrival due to an unexpected incident and had been worried that Paisley might complain to Nathaniel about it. But seeing how easygoing Paisley seemed, Wendy finally felt relieved.
Serena darted out of the pink mini castle and ran straight toward the balcony and the floor-to-ceiling windows. Maria chased after her, clutching her nervously. "Goodness, my little troublemaker. Don't go falling on me."
Serena laughed gleefully and pressed her face against the window, pointing downward. "Look, Mommy, a big horse. I want to ride the big horse."
Wendy noticed and turned to Paisley to say, "The stables are not far from here. Mr. Beaumont said you're welcome to ride any of the horses, including his own, Nyx." Actually, Paisley already owned horses, though they were all kept at the stables over at Brightmoor, not here.
"Alright," Paisley replied calmly. At the moment, she didn't feel a strong urge to ride. Still, since Serena was so eager, she figured she'd take her daughter for a little fun later.
Wendy handed Paisley the room key card and said, "Ms. Sutton, Mr. Beaumont has instructed us that during your stay at the club, you and your family or friends are free to enjoy all the facilities and services."
Paisley accepted the card, and Wendy continued, "Also, there's the opening cocktail party tonight. Do you already have a gown prepared, or would you like us to assist? We have a professional team available."
"Thank you, but I'm all set," Paisley said. She had brought the gown Emery had custom-made for her. According to Emery, as her best friend, attending a major event without wearing her designs would be a betrayal of their friendship.
"Understood." Wendy nodded. "If you need anything else, don't hesitate to contact me. Otherwise, I'll take my leave now."
"Thank you." Paisley gave Wendy a thoughtful look and then pulled a small bottle out of her bag. "You seem to have some stomach issues, don't you?"
Wendy froze, clearly startled that Paisley had guessed her condition so accurately. "Yes, Ms. Sutton. How did you know?" In fact, the reason Wendy had been late was due to a sudden bout of stomach pain that only subsided after taking some medication.
Paisley handed the bottle to Wendy and instructed, "Here, take one of these the next time you feel unwell." Without overthinking it, Wendy assumed the bottle contained regular stomach pills. She thanked Paisley sincerely, tucked it away, and then left.
Maria carried Serena over and said, "This place is huge and so luxurious, Paisy. Why don't we just have Lucy stay with us?"
Paisley was unpacking, pulling out her riding gear for later. "It's fine. Let her stay on her own," she replied.
She pondered, 'No matter how big or luxurious, it's still under the same roof as her boss. Finally getting a chance to relax, and in a high-end club like this, who'd want to stay with their boss and end up talking about work?'
"Emery and Teddy aren't arriving until tonight, right?" Maria asked. She placed Serena on the couch and started helping Paisley change her into her riding outfit.
"Yeah." Paisley nodded. "They should be here just in time before the party starts."
It couldn't be helped. Emery had a demanding client—a real headache with endless requests. And, of course, the client was a super VIP who didn't hesitate to throw money around.
Even as rebellious as Emery could be, there was no way to brush off that kind of cash flow. So, she had to tread carefully.
Initially, Emery and Teddy were supposed to come with Paisley. But thanks to that client, they were delayed and would have to make their own way over later.
Serena was soon dressed in her riding outfit. While Paisley was confident she could keep Serena safe, she wasn't taking any chances. She made sure Serena wore a helmet and protective gear.
In contrast, Paisley wasn't as particular about her own attire. After all, it wasn't a professional competition. She wasn't planning to show off or race. It was just a casual ride with the kid.
She threw her hair into a quick ponytail, changed into something comfortable and easy to move in, pulled on knee-high riding boots, and headed out with Serena and Maria.
From the top-floor suite, the stables looked like they were nearby. But in reality, it was a bit of a trek, requiring a golf cart ride. The stables were vast, and when they arrived, no one was riding. Only the staff and a few trainers were around.
Following the staff's guidance, Paisley carried Serena to the stables to pick a horse. One of the staff members introduced, "Ms. Sutton, this here is Mr. Beaumont's Nyx."
Looking at the majestic, snow-white horse before her, Paisley shook her head. In the end, she chose a smaller, gentler brown horse. She wasn't aiming for anything flashy—just something calm for a casual ride with Serena.
Meanwhile, Dominick stepped into Room 3303, the presidential suite, and immediately switched into work mode. His sole purpose here was the evening cocktail party and a brief meeting with Nathaniel. Everything else? He didn't care and wasn't interested.
Especially knowing that Paisley was also here. Worse, there was a chance her boy toy might show up, too. The thought of seeing their little happy family made Dominick's stomach churn.
He didn't want to deal with any of it—especially figuring out why she had come here in the first place.
With his dad busy working all the time, Grayson had no choice but to stay off to the side, silently reading his book. Every now and then, he would glance up to admire the rolling green hills and clear streams outside.
But he was still annoyed, thinking, 'That woman definitely saw me back in the hotel lobby, but she acted like I didn't exist. All she cared about was Serena. Figures she's bad news.'
The goodwill Grayson had built up toward Paisley during last weekend at her place was now entirely replaced by anger.
Just then, the doorbell rang. From outside came Marissa's gentle voice. "Dom, Sonny, it's me." Grayson's eyes lit up immediately. He tossed his book aside and bolted to open the door for her.
Standing at the door, Marissa had changed into a stunning riding outfit. She wore a fitted white turtleneck under a tailored, navy blue riding jacket. Her white riding pants were tucked neatly into knee-high boots that fit her legs perfectly, highlighting her tall and elegant figure.
Marissa smiled, "Want to go horseback riding, Sonny?" She directed the question at Grayson, but her gaze kept flickering toward Dominick.
Noticing Dominick hadn't come out to greet her, she stepped inside confidently and stopped right in front of him. "Let's take Sonny riding, Dom."
Dominick paused his work and looked up at Marissa. Then his eyes shifted to Grayson, catching the eager excitement shining in his son's face. "Do you want to go?" Dominick asked.
Grayson nodded enthusiastically. "I do."
Dominick smiled at his son, replying, "Alright then, let's go."
