Edmond, Zim, and Anna watched as Paisley used just one pill and three injections to revive Josie, who had been in a coma, twitching.
Edmond slumped in his chair, his face devoid of color. It was only at this moment that he realized that it was Paisley herself who had saved Tyson from the brink of death in Brightmoor. This meant that from the moment Paisley appeared, the outcome had already been sealed.
"Impossible! How could this be?" Even now, Zim still couldn't accept the reality. "I had everything planned out, everything was going according to plan—where did it go wrong?"
"Trust." Paisley walked toward Zim. "From the start, I never trusted anyone here, except for my father and brother."
Anna froze. Her chest tightened with pain. In other words, Paisy never trusted her from the very beginning. When she asked Paisley to go to Mt. Sapphire to pay respects to late Mr. Godard, she already knew her intentions. Paisy had always been giving her chances. But she—
"Tyson!" Ocean walked in, visibly excited, with his team following behind. "I've already taken control of the control room and the perimeter of the mansion. Not a single fly can escape. We're clearing out the other accomplices now."
Edmond's eyelids twitched. No wonder he hadn't seen Ocean by Tyson's side from the start. It turned out that they had already prepared everything early, just waiting for him to walk right into their trap.
Jake walked in with two unconscious men in his hands. Like throwing dead dogs, he tossed them toward Edmond and Zim.
"With just these two useless pieces, they thought they could blow up Ms. Sutton?" Jake sneered.
His security company had the strongest security system in the country. Personal safety, cybersecurity, and various other fields were all under their control.
A lot of the security personnel were retired from the military, with plenty of combat experience. They were far stronger than these worthless people from the dark web.
"Ah!" Christopher screamed, hiding behind Edmond, trembling. "Someone's dead!"
Anna glanced at Christopher, then at Max and Paisley, before finally closing her eyes in pain.
Jolin raised an eyebrow, looking at Jake. Though they were under her sister's command, if a life was lost, she would still handle it according to the law.
Jake quickly explained, "They're not dead."
After saying that, he slapped the two unconscious people awake. He then awkwardly glanced at Jolin. "They're not dead, they're alive."
Jolin finally turned his attention back to Paisley and said, "Paisley, we've got things under control here. I'm going to take my team outside to handle those wanted criminals. More reinforcements will be here soon."
Paisley understood the implication in Jolin's words—it was time to take revenge for her. After all, her professional identity was in play. Some things just couldn't be done with her around.
"Alright, thank you for your hard work." Paisley nodded in acknowledgment.
"No problem," Jolin smiled happily. "Caught so many people in one go, I'm not far from a promotion."
With that, she left with her team. She also took the black-hat man and the two others Jake had slapped awake.
Zim watched as the people working for him were taken away, leaving him standing alone, finally panicking.
"No! You can't leave! Come back, kill them! Kill these people!" Zim screamed madly, his eyes bloodshot, chasing after them.
But after just two steps, Jake grabbed him as easily as picking up a chicken. "Where do you think you're going?"
With that, Jake slammed him hard onto the ground. The others around them winced. Even though it wasn't them getting slammed, they couldn't help but feel a chill.
Leo blinked. The more he thought about it, the more it felt like he had seen this move before. He thought for a moment and finally remembered. It was just recently when Linna almost used the same method on that kid named Tommy.
Zim had lived in luxury for so long. His entire body felt as if it had been trampled by an elephant. There wasn't a single part of him that wasn't in pain.
He lay on the ground, unable to get up. But even then, he still muttered, "No, I haven't lost yet. Come back. Come back and kill them!"
Christopher was already stunned by what had just happened, terrified that he would be the next one slammed. He hid behind Edmond, not daring to take a breath.
Edmond appeared calm on the surface, but his pale face and trembling legs and hands revealed the panic he was feeling.
Anna was equally shaken by what she had just witnessed, her face pale, and when she looked at Paisley, her eyes were full of fear.
"Paisy, what should we do with these people next?" Tyson fully trusted his daughter's decision. After this incident, he was even more determined to pass on the family business to Paisley.
Paisley smiled lightly, "Dad, there's no rush. The others haven't arrived yet."
If they were going to settle scores, it needed to be done when everyone was present.
Max showed perfect coordination. He turned to Leo and said, "Go; bring the others here."
After Florence returned to the residence with Bella, she had been feeling uneasy. Something about the house felt off today, and the servants seemed to have disappeared.
Just as she was about to find someone to ask, she saw two of the servants who had originally been in charge of Rainfall Retreat.
"What are you two doing here?" No sooner had she spoken, than the two servants grabbed her.
"What are you doing? Don't you know who I am?" Florence's face turned pale.
The two servants couldn't be bothered to argue. "Please come with us to Rainfall Retreat. Someone wants to see you and your daughter."
Without waiting for Florence's protests, they dragged her and the crying Bella away. They didn't release their grip until they had brought them upstairs to the second floor of Rainfall Retreat.
Florence immediately hugged Bella, checking her over. "Bella, are you alright?"
Bella was scared out of her wits and could only cry.
Florence was frantic, and upon realizing they had forcibly brought her to Rainfall Retreat, Josie's place, she was furious. "Josie, what are you doing? I'll kick you out of the Godard family!"
The thought of soon becoming the lady of the house and having Josie looking at her in this house made Florence burn with anger.
"There is no Josie here. I had someone bring you here," Sandy said, now dressed in Josie's clothes and wearing her expensive jewelry, sitting in the main seat on the sofa.
However, she didn't have the perfect figure or noble demeanor, so even though she wore expensive clothes and jewelry, she didn't exude any elegance. On the contrary, it looked awkward and out of place.
"It's you?" Florence frowned. She had met Sandy twice before and knew she was Zim's cousin. By now, Florence no longer cared about Josie, let alone the relatives of Zim.
Seeing her dressed in such an awkward way, Florence sneered, "How did you end up looking like this? Does Josie know? You look ridiculous, like a beggar wearing a princess dress."
This provoked a laugh from Keeley. "Haha, I told you, you don't deserve these clothes."
Although Keeley looked down on Josie, she looked down on Sandy even more.
Sandy's face turned pale with anger, but since it was Keeley, Zim's biological sister, she had no choice but to endure it. In the end, she vented her anger on Florence. She stood up, walked over to her, and slapped her hard across the face.
"Ah! You dare hit me?" Florence was furious. First, she had been slapped by Paisley, and now this woman. She swung her hand back to retaliate but was immediately restrained by the two servants who had brought her here.
"You bitch!" Sandy slapped her again. "If it weren't for your daughter, my son Tommy wouldn't have gone through all that torment."
Sandy would never forget the sight of Tommy urinating himself in fear during the Godard family's recognition banquet. Since Paisley was already dead, she could only take revenge on the root cause of the entire affair.
