Richard and the other two looked completely stunned—clearly they hadn't expected the matriarch to show up out of nowhere.
After my mom died, Grandma had moved to the neighboring city, leaving Richard to run Harrison Industries while she stayed out of company affairs entirely.
In my past life, she was the one who brought me back into the family, but back then I chose to keep quiet and take the abuse.
She always thought I was doing fine with the Harrison family.
When Bridget was spreading lies about my personal life, Grandma had tried to help me.
But by then my depression had gotten so bad that I shut her out completely, and we missed our chance.
Seeing her again, my eyes welled up and I choked out:
"Grandma..."
Grandma looked at me with such pain in her eyes, her wrinkled hand gently stroking my cheek: "Oh, my poor Serenity, it's all Grandma's fault for not being here on such an important day."
Richard's jaw dropped so far you could've shoved a whole egg in his mouth: "Mom... why didn't you tell us you were coming?"
Grandma slammed her cane down so hard the ground shook: "I finally help my daughter find her child, and this is how you treat her?!"
She pointed straight at Richard and roared: "I wouldn't have known if I hadn't seen the livestream! You've got some nerve!"
"You're nothing but a live-in son-in-law in the Harrison family! When did you get the right to boss Serenity around?!"
The paparazzi who'd just been getting screamed at by Richard suddenly perked up, raising their cameras and going crazy:
"SHOCKING! Corporate CEO is actually just a gold-digger!"
"Real-life rich family drama! Total plot twist!"
Outrageous headlines flooded the livestream chat.
Richard's face went from red to white to green, and he grabbed Jake to use as a human shield, shouting desperately: "Get the hell out of here or I'll sue you for using my image without permission!"
Bridget, who'd been so smug before, now looked panicked, tugging at Grandma's sleeve and begging: "Grandma... please don't make this so ugly... you're embarrassing Harrison Industries..."
My grandma yanked her hand away, eyes blazing: "Don't call me Grandma! Serenity is my only real granddaughter! And you're the ones who should be embarrassed!"
One of the paparazzi seized the moment and shouted: "So... Jake isn't your grandson?!"
Grandma was furious and didn't hold back: "He's just Richard's son from his first marriage! My daughter and Richard were a blended family!"
She got more worked up as she spoke: "I never should have agreed to let that ungrateful snake into our house!"
The crowd instantly erupted.
The livestream chat absolutely exploded with "HOLY SHIT" and "BIGGEST SCANDAL EVER" flooding the screen.
Jake's face went pale, and he grabbed Richard and Bridget, rushing toward the mansion.
Grandma took my hand and followed close behind.
Inside the mansion, crystal chandeliers sparkled brilliantly.
The moment Grandma walked in, she slammed her cane on the floor with a thunderous crash: "Richard Harrison! Get on your knees!"
Richard jumped like he'd been electrocuted, but still stubbornly refused to kneel.
"Mom, what are you doing? I'm the CEO of Harrison Industries!"
"CEO? What the hell are you?!" Grandma was livid. "Without the Harrison family, you're nothing! You were some broke nobody back then—if the Harrison family hadn't taken pity on you, you think you could've married my daughter? You think you'd have what you have today?!"
Richard tried to argue back, but Grandma immediately cut him off: "Don't forget what I said when my daughter died—if you behaved yourself and didn't cause trouble, Harrison Industries would be yours after I'm gone!"
"Right now, I still hold the controlling shares in Harrison Industries! You're nothing but a puppet!"
Seeing Richard wouldn't budge, Grandma grabbed an vase from the cabinet and hurled it at him:
"Don't make me repeat myself!"
"I said get on your knees!"
