The vase shattered at Richard's feet, sending fragments flying everywhere.
His legs gave out and he dropped to the floor with a thud.
Bridget and Jake were trembling with fear, not daring to breathe.
Grandma pointed at Richard and said to me: "Serenity, I'm laying it out right here and now! You run this house! Anyone who dares mess with you, I'll break their legs!"
She turned to look at Bridget with ice-cold eyes: "Especially you! Since when do you get to make rules in the Harrison family!"
Hearing this, Bridget's head hung even lower, looking like he wanted to crawl into a hole and disappear.
Looking at Grandma, my emotions were all over the place.
She was another victim—her daughter died young, and she'd been fooled by that snake Richard for years...
And I only figured out the whole truth right before I died in my past life.
Then I pulled a document from my purse and handed it to Grandma.
Her hands shook as she opened it, her expression shifting from shock to fury to deep grief.
She slammed the document into Richard's face and screamed: "You! How dare you lie to my daughter!"
Richard frantically picked up the papers, quickly scanning them before his face went deathly pale.
It was the first thing I'd done after being reborn—a DNA paternity test that proved beyond doubt the father-daughter relationship between him and Bridget.
"You... you... how did you know?!"
Richard pointed at me, his voice trembling, eyes full of terror.
Grandma shot to her feet, jabbing her cane hard against the floor: "The only reason my daughter married you was because she thought you were honest! That you'd treat Serenity well!"
"She felt guilty that having a daughter wasn't fair to you, so she let you bring your son into our house. She was always good to your boy, wasn't she!"
"You agreed before the marriage that you'd each only have one child! But you heartless bastard! You lied to my daughter! If she'd known you had another daughter, she never would have married you!"
Seeing everything exposed, Bridget decided to go all in: "So what?! My dad worked his ass off for the Harrison family! Since they got married, I'm their kid too! What's wrong with that?!"
Jake jumped in too, protecting them both with righteous indignation: "You said it yourself—my mom was always good to me. So what if she didn't give birth to me? I took the Harrison name anyway, and Harrison Industries will all be mine someday!"
Looking at their disgusting faces, I let out a cold laugh: "Your little scheme was so loud the whole country heard it!"
"Deliberately lose me, then bring your real daughter back home, claiming you're making up for lost family love! Really you were just waiting to inherit everything from my mom's side of the family!"
Hearing the word "lose," Grandma's body jerked, and she stared at me in disbelief: "Serenity, what are you saying? They lost you on purpose?"
I didn't have solid proof yet, but I'd find it eventually.
I gently patted Grandma's hand and gave her a reassuring look: "Trust me, Grandma. I'll make them pay for what they did!"
Grandma turned to Richard, each word squeezed out through gritted teeth: "Get out of my house right now! You're no longer part of the Harrison family!"
Richard's expression changed instantly, and he pointed at Grandma, cursing: "You old hag! Are you legally illiterate?! I was legally married to your daughter! You think you can kick me out?!"
"Your daughter's dead! Half her property belongs to me!"
Grandma was about to argue with him, but I quickly held her back and whispered:
"It's okay, Grandma. He won't get a single penny."
