The first thing I did when I got home was check Twitter.
As expected, the trending topics were completely dominated by the Harrison family drama.
#Billionaire Son-in-Law Abandons Late Wife's Daughter#
#Billionaire's Fake Heiress Takes Over#
#Fake Heiress Identity Crisis#,
#Rising Star Serenity's Rocky Return to Wealthy Family#
...endless headlines, but almost all taking my side.
The comments were even more entertaining:
"Holy shit! This is more dramatic than any TV show! Rich families really are shark tanks!"
"I feel so bad for Serenity! She can't even go home! I would've had a breakdown ages ago!"
"Bridget is such a fake bitch! And she wants to be famous?! Consider me her first hater!"
"But Serenity's comeback was so satisfying! This is how a celebrity should handle things!"
Reading these comments, I couldn't help but laugh.
Looks like Richard and his crew really pissed off the paparazzi this time.
Over the next few days, news about the Harrison family kept escalating.
First, all of Bridget's past scandals got dug up—school bullying, plastic surgery, messy personal life, everything was exposed.
Then Harrison Industries' stock price started plummeting, business partners canceled contracts left and right, and Richard was running around like a headless chicken trying to put out fires.
Meanwhile, I lounged at home, eating pastries Grandma made while watching the Harrison family fall apart.
My mom's "arrangement" came through right on schedule.
Bridget got her role as promised—not as a leading lady, but as a minor servant in the show.
On the first day of filming, she acted all high and mighty, bossing around the makeup artists and stylists: "Do you think this makeup looks good?! Does it suit me?!"
"What kind of garbage are you putting on my face! My face is precious!"
"What is this outfit! It's all wrinkled!"
"I'm the daughter of a billionaire! How dare you treat me like this!"
When she saw me in my elaborate costume, she completely lost it: "I want what she's wearing! If you don't give it to me, I won't act!"
My manager Amy wiped her brow and whispered to me: "Thank God that whole mess got cleared up, or you'd be playing that servant."
"But honestly, I can't stand people like her either. Makes me want to deck her..."
By then, the director walked in with a cold expression, urging: "Hurry up! We're about to start!"
Bridget kept trying to argue for a better role, but the director tore into her: "I don't care who you are! Either act or get lost!"
"If Ms. Stone hadn't recommended you, I wouldn't have bothered with you!"
Bridget looked hurt but eventually walked out reluctantly.
The scene was supposed to show the servant disrespecting me.
I got a sudden urge and really slapped her during the emotional moment: "You worthless thing! How dare you steal from me!"
Bridget stumbled from the hit and was about to hit me back when the director angrily yelled "Cut! What are you doing!"
"Serenity had such great intensity! You ruined it! Do it again!"
So we did over ten takes, and I got to slap her more than ten times.
I was having the time of my life.
Finally, Bridget held her swollen face and screamed at the director: "I'm done! Let me tell you—cross the Harrison family and you'll regret it!"
The director just smiled: "Feel free to try. Your breach of contract fee isn't cheap either!"
Besides, with the Harrison family in shambles, they had no energy to deal with her problems.
She couldn't argue back and had no choice but to grit her teeth and keep filming for several days until her character got killed off.
In the final cut, her close-ups lasted maybe a few minutes total.
Her dreams of stardom died right there.
Meanwhile, the private investigator had made progress.
I immediately took Grandma and rushed over.
