                    My pupils contracted sharply.
"Lilith! What do you want to do?"
"I'm warning you, if this ring is lost, you absolutely cannot bear the consequences!"
But Lilith, enjoying my expression of shock and anger, laughed even more wildly.
"Can't bear the consequences? Yara, you're a penniless street sweeper. What is there that we can't handle?"
"You treasure this ring so much, you must want to steal it and sell it for quick money, right? Looking at your poor appearance, you probably can't even pay next month's rent?"
"I won't let you have your way!"
Seeing that she was really about to let go and let the ring fall into the filthy sewer.
"You wouldn't dare!"
I gritted my teeth and lunged at her, struggling with her.
"Yara! You shrew have no manners at all! Lilith was just scaring you, do you need to get physical!"
Felix coldly tried to pull me away, but I shook off his hand with red eyes.
"Get lost! You bastard, get away from me!"
Liam was frightened by this scene. His knee injury hadn't healed yet, and he stood aside crying loudly:
"Bad person! You're a bad person! Stealing things and hitting people! Wuu wuu..."
Hearing his cries, my heart no longer stirred even a ripple.
This child—I completely gave up on him.
I didn't even look at him once, only pressed Lilith firmly to the ground with one goal in mind.
"Give me back the ring!"
Lilith was pinned under me, her hair disheveled and in a sorry state. She glared at me through gritted teeth, but suddenly smiled.
"I won't. I'm going to destroy what you treasure most! Just like you stole twenty-plus years of my life!"
She roared, using all her strength to smash the ring against the concrete ground!
"Lilith, no!!"
"Crack—"
A harsh shattering sound.
The largest main gemstone on the ring shattered on impact, and the band was completely deformed. The carefully engraved letters "Y·L" were twisted beyond recognition.
The wedding ring I had personally designed to give to my fiancé was ruined just like that.
"Ahhh—!"
I grabbed Lilith's collar and shook her desperately.
"Give me back my ring! Give it back to me! You crazy woman!"
"I am crazy! What can you do about it!" Lilith still wouldn't back down, cackling: "I won't give it back, what can you do? Go ahead and kill me if you can!"
"Yara! Haven't you made enough of a scene!"
Liam was still crying, but Felix rushed up, roughly trying to separate us:
"Look at yourself now, like a shrew! How embarrassing! You really can't do anything without me!"
His hand was about to touch my shoulder.
Just then.
"Screech—"
A globally limited Bugatti Veyron silently stopped beside me.
The car door opened, and a tall, imposing young man stepped out.
He wore a perfectly tailored haute couture suit, with handsome features and a cold expression.
He was my father's most prized student—Lucian Bennett.
Lucian's gaze swept over the chaotic scene before him, finally settling on me, his sharp eyes instantly softening with concern.
When he saw Felix's hand reaching toward me, his expression turned even colder, like a Siberian cold front.
"Take your dirty hands away."
He quickly walked to my side, protecting me behind him, his gaze shooting toward Felix like a sharp sword.
"Who gave you the courage to touch my fiancée?"
