"Felix, are you crazy? Or do you think I'm easily fooled?"
I laughed angrily, finding his words utterly absurd.
But he seemed not to hear my mockery and began his confession on the other end of the phone.
"I really regret it, Yara."
"After coming back today, I thought carefully for a long time. Only after you left did I realize I can't function without you! And that Lilith can't do anything except cry and ask me to solve the troubles she creates."
"She's nothing like you—she can't fight alongside me in business. After you left, when she took over that jewelry series, she made a complete mess of it. It has no commercial value at all!"
His words were earnest, as if he had truly seen the light:
"I admit, I was blinded by her back then, which made me overlook how excellent you are! I'm an idiot! I was wrong, Yara, please forgive me!"
Listening to his flawed "confession," I only felt disgusted.
But he began using our son as an excuse.
"And our son, Yara, Liam can't be without his biological mother. For the child's sake, give me a chance to make amends, okay?"
I couldn't help but laugh coldly, interrupting his performance.
"Felix, stop pretending."
"The reason Lilith could bewitch you is because in the Allens family, only the so-called 'real heiress' has inheritance rights, isn't it?"
"What you regret isn't losing me."
"What you regret is that after Allens Group lost me as its free helmsman, its market value kept shrinking, assets kept declining, and it's about to go bankrupt!"
"And just at this moment, you suddenly discovered that I'm actually the sole heir of the Sinclair family!"
"Felix, what you regret is not discovering that I'm the biological daughter of the Sinclair family!"
"What you regret is not getting the Sinclair family's wealth! Your confession isn't worth a piece of waste paper!"
"Stop disgusting me."
With that, I didn't want to hear another word from him and hung up directly.
In the hotel room, Felix was stunned by my fierce scolding.
Lilith, seeing his dejected state, went crazy with jealousy and shook his arm vigorously:
"Felix! You're not really regretting it, are you? Are you still thinking about that bitch!"
Felix shook her off forcefully, his eyes full of irritation and pain, unable to say a word.
Seeing this, a flash of venom crossed Lilith's eyes.
She took out her phone and called the Allens family parents through gritted teeth:
"Dad! Mom! That bitch Yara found her real father in New York! She's become the richest heiress of the Sinclair family!"
"The Allens family is about to go bankrupt, and the Smith family won't last much longer either. We absolutely cannot let this fat sheep go!"
On the other end of the phone, the Allens couple's breathing stopped for a moment upon hearing this news, then they erupted in ecstatic shouts.
"What?! The richest?!"
