After the Allens parents were "escorted" away, my world was peaceful for a few days.
Soon, a top-tier jewelry exhibition in New York was held as scheduled.
As the heir of the Sinclair family and Lucian Bennett's fiancée, I naturally attended in full dress.
Unexpectedly, Felix also managed to sneak in with Lilith through various means.
Felix followed behind various capital moguls like a lapdog, flattering and fawning, trying to secure even a thread of investment.
Meanwhile, Lilith looked at the dazzling jewelry on my body, at me being surrounded like a star in the center of the crowd.
Then thinking of her own family's decline, unable even to afford a new dress—wearing a three-year-old outdated gown—jealousy and resentment grew wildly in her heart like weeds.
Just as I was introducing the jewelry I was wearing to several socialites, Lilith suddenly rushed out.
She pointed at me, her voice shrill with accusation:
"Yara! This shameless fraud! Thief! You're copying me again!"
"The brooch you're wearing is clearly from my design draft! I even showed it to Felix! How dare you claim it's your own work!"
The entire banquet hall instantly fell silent, all eyes focused on us.
Felix stood to the side, his face pale as death, desperately grabbing Lilith's arm.
"Lilith, stop making a scene, let's go!"
But I wasn't going to give him a chance to save face.
I chuckled lightly and signaled to my assistant.
Understanding immediately, the assistant projected a high-definition design drawing onto the large screen in the center of the banquet hall.
It was exactly the design I had drawn five years ago to help the Allens family through their crisis, letting her take credit for it.
Seeing this drawing, Lilith's eyes lit up as if she had found solid evidence.
"Did everyone see that! This is my design from five years ago! She's been copying me for five years!"
The audience below murmured among themselves.
"Crazy."
Lucian's face was iron-blue, about to step forward and solve this trouble for me.
But I shook my head at him, smiling sweetly at the seemingly mad Lilith:
"Miss Lilith, are you certain that I plagiarized you?"
"Of course I'm certain! You shameless thief!" she cursed without hesitation.
"Very good." I nodded and asked again, "Can you take legal responsibility for every word you just said?"
She hesitated with guilt.
Felix shook her arm and hissed in a low voice: "Lilith! Have you forgotten why we're here? Stop provoking her!"
Hearing this, grievance immediately surged in Lilith's heart:
"Felix! Even at this point, you're still protecting her!"
Felix's face was deathly pale as he said urgently in a low voice:
"Am I protecting her? I just don't want to be dragged down by you, you stupid woman!"
But Lilith couldn't listen anymore. She violently shook off Felix's hand and shouted recklessly:
"What can't I be responsible for! You did copy me!"
"Good."
My smile became even brighter.
"I was waiting for exactly those words."
I turned around, pointing to a corner of the design on the big screen—a seemingly insignificant small diamond.
"Then, Miss Lilith, as the original designer, can you tell everyone what this diamond here means?"
