Hani was dumbfounded as she stared blankly at Jungwon.

"You don't need to pay me, but can we be friends?"

His words repeated inside her head yet she still couldn't comprehend what he was talking about- Or rather, she refused to do so.

"I'm just wondering if we could be friends, Hani.." Jungwon looks away with a blush on his cheek. He lets out an awkward cough.

"In exchange for being your tutor," Jungwon pauses and stands up, unintentionally towering over Hani. He looks down at her with nervous eyes. "I want to be close to you."

Badump!
Badump!
Badump!

Everything slows down. The cafeteria noise was no longer heard, and the soft light of the sun ray beaming from the large windows made the scene more romantic. It's just like those in the cute dramas where both the male lead and female lead locks eyes and all of a sudden, electric sparks shocks their hearts.

Eureka.

Perhaps, is this the discovery of something new, raw, and unique? Perhaps, is this something out of the time-told fairytales?- Maybe, are they about to experience the most essential feeling in life?

Love.

Both of them felt it. Maybe it's too early to conclude, but it's also not too late to say otherwise. This moment they're stuck in-

It's a moment in time where your body just freezes, and only your mind and heart could be heard. Unintentionally, you'd be taking vivid and hazy pictures of each other inside your mind, enough for it to live on to a lucid dream where you could feel each other's lips, or arms. Whatever it is that holds the most sentiment to you.

Hani experienced something similar to this before... But it also felt different. It's strange, she couldn't tell if it's a bad feeling or not. Whatever it is, she does not like the way her stomach twisted, especially towards someone who she knowingly let admire her from afar.

"Is that why you stalked me around school?" She says with doe eyes, heart beat still racing and racing as if she suddenly went to a full stop after running miles and miles. Her body was hot, almost as if she suddenly caught a fever. She fumbles with her own hands nervously, but it did little to calm her down.

On the other hand, Jungwon was flustered. Wait- No, that's not the only thing he felt. His mind was clouded with rumbled thoughts, and his heart was full of mixed emotions. Shivers went down his spine and he felt his body getting cold.

How did she know? Does she hate me now?
She probably thinks I'm some kind of freak, am I?
Why did I even freaking walk around the school always looking for her?
Jungwon did not know whether he should be regretting, apologising, or being ashamed as of this moment.

And before he could recollect himself, he was already being shoved out of the way as Hani scrammed away with a brown paper bag in her hand, Jungwon doesn't even know where the hell she got that from, as he was too preoccupied with the initial shock of Hani knowing about his not-so-sneaky endeavours these days.

He can only stare at her with flustered eyes as she runs away from the cafeteria, her figure disappearing from Jungwon's sight before he could even realise it.

"Shit." Jungwon could only curse under his breath while he blankly stared into empty space upon realising that he screwed his plan in being all cool and handsome for his crush- At least that's what he thought.

Feeling defeated, he cleaned his leftover meal and threw it to the trash. He no longer felt hungry, not even the slightest bit. Who would have the energy to eat? Not him, especially after he's been indirectly rejected by his crush. He didn't even get the chance to make a move on her.

Jungwon was never caught up with jumbled feelings. Whatever life threw at him, he always faced it with a clear mind.

Im Hani was a new challenge; One that Jungwon did not expect. Who would've known that after 17 years, he'd meet the one who'd prove him that he is not asexual?

Im Hani is different, and she made him feel things that he never felt before.

Meanwhile, Hani closes her tearful eyes as she sits down on a bathroom stall. Her mouth was covered with the small paper bag which she used to breathe in and out from.

Her body is awfully warm, even though she didn't sweat one bit. She could feel the warmth radiating off her body, and the burning sensation around her lungs weren't helping at all.

With every breath she took, it felt like she was losing more oxygen. Is was shitty feeling, this was something she hated the most.

Stupid Hani. Stupid tutoring session. Stupid plan. Stupid anxiety. Hani was frustrated. She hated herself for acting this way, even when she knew she couldn't control her condition, she hated the sole fact that she has it.

Hani usually doesn't mind her anxiety, but when it hinders her desires, she just finds herself pointing fingers and blaming everything she could blame- And that includes herself.

Truth be told, approaching Yang Jungwon did not put her into distress. In fact, she liked the thought of getting closer to the handsome boy.

Indeed, before, she was creeped out over knowing that he's been watching her from afar for quite a while now. But honestly, there was something about Jungwon that was intimidatingly welcoming.

It was a redundant feeling, but Hani found herself getting intrigued over him; How he is when he casually converse with her, how he is as a friend, what his interests are, what he dislikes, and what he finds attractive to a girl.

Knowing Yang Jungwon's existence made a huge impact on Hani's life.

She doesn't like being the centre of attention, the mere thought of being inside someone's mind overwhelms Hani... But she did hope that whenever Jungwon was near her, he would notice no one but her.

Hani felt guilty and evil for thinking likewise. Why should she like getting his attention? He's a stranger to her, she doesn't even know a thing about Jungwon. Is she an attention seeker? What if she's constantly trying to have a good image, but deep inside, she's corrupted and rotten?

These questions, they're all the results of having another voice inside your head. Anxiety was never this bad for the longest time, because Hani always avoids stress before it can even come to her.

This way, she wouldn't be consumed into overthinking and being constantly anxious. It's even the exact reason why her academic standing was plummeting.

Jungwon's aura, his handsomeness, his deep yet soft voice, his dimples, his smile: Everything about him overwhelmed Hani in many ways.

Hani constantly read romance books knowing full well that with her condition, she wouldn't be able to live such fantasies. However, she's afraid that Yang Jungwon might prove that wrong.

Just like in those happy-ever-after stories, will the knight in shining armour pursue the damsel in distress no matter how many obstacles there are?

"Gosh, why am I even thinking like this? I'm literally hyperventilating."
