The afternoon was a little different than earlier morning. Rather than sunny halos and fresh air, Seoul suddenly felt gloomy and unusually dull.

Jungwon looks out of the window of the bus as it drives nearer to the place he plans to go. Busy eyes encaptured the vicinity that the bus passes by. There were a lot of food stalls and boutiques, albeit that it's a given considering that Hani's house is located in the middle of the downtown.

The bus stopped at the station, and Jungwon stood up to rush towards the exit. And as his feet land on the concrete sidewalk, his heart grows more nervous.

This is it. A little walk away from here, and he'll get to Hani's house, where he'll finally meet her again— But of course it's only for tutoring purposes... Right?

Yang Jungwon is a little good with the crushing game. In his hand is a plastic of two cartons of banana milk, along with warm chocolate chip cookies for snacks.

Jungwon gallops down the pavement, passing by stores after stores. The sky was covered with blasting clouds, and even with many people around, it was silent.

However, the boy was too busy walking hurriedly towards the pinpointed direction that Hani gave him beforehand. And as he turned to one corner, he finally saw it.

"Dark blue gate, orchid walls." Jungwon softly murmurs as he gazes at the dark blue gate and wall full of orchids. The house itself was fairly huge. It was allost like a mansion, except it was a little smaller— Something that a humble and a low-profile millionaire would live in.

It was decorated with various colourful flowers and plants. Only this house felt warm and bright, as opposed to the modern type houses that surround it.

And one thing that stood out the most were the marigolds. Its deep orange colour contrasted to the calm blues, violets, and pinks of the other flowers. It was a bright shade that fit well with the dark green leaves surrounding it.

Orange marigolds represent positive energy and strong emotions, which reminds Jungwon of Hani. Just like the dark green leaves, the girl may wear the darkest clothing, but the bright orange that's her beauty will always stand out.

Jungwon found himself smiling at that thought. Despite not being fond of 'pathetic' meanings and representation of anything related to nature, orange marigolds may just be his new favourite flower.

Because to him, orange marigolds represent Hani.

Ding!

The sound of the doorbell rings from the inside as Jungwon finally took a step from the front porch and pressed the doorbell button.

The sound of Jungwon's sneakers-clad foot constantly tapping against the pavement accompanied the continuous ringing of the doorbell.

However, one more sound sang along with the taps and rings: It was Jungwon's phone.

CAT LADY🐈 is calling...

"Hani..?" Jungwon tilts his head, confused as to why Hani would call him when he's right outside her house. She must've heard the doorbell by now, right?

Nevertheless, Jungwon answered the call and put his phone right beside his ear.

"Han-'' He was just about to greet her... But another voice was heard over the line.

"This is Hani's schoolmate speaking, right?" A voice that seemed to be from a middle-aged woman asked, which confused Jungwon.

"Yes Ma'am... And may I also ask who's this?" Jungwon's eyebrows were furrowed. He couldn't tell exactly why— But he felt something was off.

"I'm Hani's mother and... you planned to tutor my daughter today, no? And what'syour name?" Mrs. Im sounded authoritative yet she was also not intimidating. However, how could one not be nervous when you're speaking to your crush's mother?

"Ah... yes Mrs. Im. My name is Yang Jungwon. I am actually outside of your home right now." Jungwon smiled the nervousness out, as if Mrs. Im was even there to see it.

"Oh gosh, I'm terribly sorry dear!" Mrs. Im exclaims from the other line. From the sound of it, she was worried and sorry, but for what?

"Hani and I are not at home... No one's home right now." Mrs. Im says, and that cleared everything in Jungwon's head.

"Hani hyperventilated earlier... She was having a panic attack because of the tutoring session. She insists that it's not you, dear! It's just... her condition." Mrs. Im explained, but Jungwon felt a little numb over the disappointment in his heart.

"I think tutoring is not for her, Jungwon. I'm afraid it's going to drain Hani's energy. It's really not about you, boy. As you may know, Hani is a different case. She needs special care and understanding." All the efforts Jungwon gave, it was for nothing.

"I hope you acknowledge Hani's condition, and I really apologize for the inconvenience we caused. If anything, I can wire you in some payment online? To compensate for your time and your fare." Says Mrs. Im apologetically.

With flattened lips, Jungwon forced himself to smile despite his aching heart. "You don't have to, Ma'am. I completely understand Hani. Please just tell her that it's totally fine for me, and I hope she feels better!"

"Alright, I can do that. Thank you, young boy." Mrs. Im bids her farewell before hanging up.

Even when Jungwon said it was totally fine, yet it's not. He felt irritated, annoyed. It irritated him to know that things didn't go as plan. His daydream, imagining how well he'd teach Hani the lessons at hand, how he'll make her laugh, and how dreamy every moment would be with her.

His heart swelled over the fact that there was nothing he could do, and that the sole reason to which he could get closer with his crush is gone. Now, he doesn't even know any other way to pursue these feelings of his.

He felt powerless, and he hated that. he looked at the plastic bag in his hand, the carton of sweet banana milk peeked out. Jungwon bit his lips.

Jungwon then dumped all of that annoyance to the banana milk and cookies at hand, throwing it out to a nearby garbage bin with a frown evident on his face. The bin was almost full, and the plastic bag almost fell, revealing the yellow carton of sweet banana milk.

A huff escaped his lips.

"I never liked banana milk anyway."
