I just discovered that the director of Ethan's new drama was him. He didn't beat around the bush—he told me straight up that he couldn't stand Ethan's unprofessional behavior and was dropping him as the lead.
Then came the kicker: he'd only reconsider if I designed another suit for him.
But we both knew that wasn't happening.
No wonder Ethan had been so desperate to drag me back, dropping not-so-subtle hints about needing a new design.
I thanked the director—he was the only one who still valued my work and had stood by me in the past.
A week later, I handed Nathan the first draft of my new design. He loved it so much he offered to create a custom logo for my brand once the final piece was ready.
I couldn't wait. The thought alone fueled my motivation.
Meanwhile, Ethan was still blowing up my phone, begging me to return and "fix" things for him.
I'd had enough of his act. "The cheap stuff I make isn't enough for you," I shot back. "Why don't you ask Linda to bail you out this time?"
At the drama's premiere, the director made on his word—Ethan was out, replaced by his biggest rival. The humiliation was brutal.
The media went wild with speculation, and Linda wasted no time pointing fingers at me, screeching about how I'd "ruined" Ethan's career even after leaving.
I rolled my eyes and fired back, "If you love him so much, why couldn't you get him the role? Maybe stop blaming others for your own incompetence."
Done with the drama, I snapped my SIM card in half and tossed it down a sewer. No more distractions.
Dreamscape approved my design, producing samples and showcasing them in their stores. Nathan called me, thrilled—VIP clients were raving about my work, even asking for private fittings.
For the first time, I felt seen.
By the weekend, Nathan had finalized my brand's logo. Demand skyrocketed, and Dreamscape doubled down on funding.
I threw myself into my studio, sketching nonstop, and spent my free time taking client measurements in-store.
Then, the bombshell dropped: Linda was caught in bed with the assistant director—literally thrown naked into a hotel hallway.
The media had a field day. Ethan's name got dragged into the mess, and what did he do? Deleted every trace of their relationship online like a coward.
Linda lost it. She blasted him in three furious tweets, admitting she'd slept with the AD for him and calling him a backstabbing ingrate.
Ethan's team scrambled to deny everything, claiming he'd turned down the lead role due to "scheduling conflicts."
I couldn't take the hypocrisy anymore. I reached out to the director, who agreed to help—on one condition: I had to personally make him a suit.
"Deal," I laughed. "It'll be one of a kind."
That night, the director dropped a scorching exposé—detailing Ethan's demotion to a minor role, his betrayal of me, and his shameless pivot to Linda.
Ethan's name trended all night. Fans abandoned him in droves, and some even defended me, praising my designs.
With everything settled, Nathan and I took a week off. He suggested coming home with me—partly to unwind, partly to scout studios for future collaborations.
riddance, Ethan. Hope we never cross paths again.
