"Do we have to go, we can always just sleep in, plus I'm still trying to find Corey and Connor." Kyra whined as Robin insisted that he go along with him for the lunch date he was supposedly having with his dad, to Kyra meeting your father in law wasn't exactly a fun thing to do, it could end up in many different scenarios and none of them were good.
"Please baby, I will make you, your favorite smores when we get back." Robin pleaded knowing Kyra was a sucker for smores, Ben popped up in their room just then. "I heard smores." He asserted making Robin laugh. "Hello love, I was begging your best friend to come with me to meet my father, please tell him it's a good idea, please." Robin begged Ben but the witch had a plan of his own up his sleeve. "If I make him go with you, guarantee me smores where you come back." Ben laid the bait, as Kyra watched the whole interaction between his mate and best friend he seemed amused.
Robin was falling for Ben's trap all too easily. "Yes, I give you my word, that today when I come back I will make you smores, on any other day, you'll have to bribe me." Robin replied with a glint of mischief which made Ben narrow his eyes on the vampire. "Fine deal." Ben accepted and he swiped his fingers giving Kyra and Robin the perfect outfits for their day. "Have fun with King Lacrio, oh by the way comment on his achievements and his estate in the Northern Starkit." Ben pointed out and vanished before Kyra could say anything in protest.
The witch groaned, grabbed Robin's hand, and vanished with him to the sunny patio of the dining hall. "Robin!" A tall man cheerfully greeted, to Kyra this was nowhere what he had expected, but when he got close he felt what the vampire felt, it made him uneasy. He was the king, stoic, cold, and judgemental, but looking at him now his demeanor was different, he was trying to hide himself from Robin and his son.
"Your dad seems, uh...nice." Kyra mumbled next to Robin making him laugh. "He's kind of bipolar which at times is annoying." Robin explained and Kyra understood perfectly. "Hello dad, this is Kyra my mate, Kyra my father the vampire king Lacrio." He introduced and Kyra plastered his best smile for the man. "You're quite the beauty, I suppose all Syre's are, except a few." He complimented making his son's mate blush. Kyra was still apprehensive about sitting opposite the vampire king, though he knew the man had changed, that piece of information needed verification.
"How are you father?" Robin questioned after they had ordered their food. "I'm alright, I've heard about a disturbing rumor about the witch king, is he really trying to do it?" He replied back but his question was more directed to Kyra. "Your grace, I wouldn't want to cause any trouble but it's true, we are working on stopping him." The witch replied with as much courtesy as he could muster. "In times like these, I wish they hadn't given that boy the crown, anyway tell me more about yourself Kyra, and how your studies have been Robin." The king of vampires stated and both Kyra along with his mate felt relieved that the topic of Kaiser had been dropped.
"My studies are going fine dad, I think I've informed you a week ago and I'm also sure your little spy in my dorm has been reporting." Robin responded with a harsh distaste which made the king sigh. "It's better to keep an eye on your child when you have someone who can report almost daily, I know what's been happening around here and it's what prompted me to come, not some invitation from the angel queen to join her radical plans." He confessed shocking Robin, Kyra had also picked it up, the angel queen was involved more than they thought.
"I'm not mad dad, I know with what happened to mum you're trying to keep me safe and I promise you we're safe." The vampire reassured his father, the vampire in turn chuckled slightly. "I know you are, I saw both your battles against Amelia and your brother Declan, with the union of houses he will be crowned king, if only he had the power and backbone to back it up." Lacrio remarked making Kyra snort and Robin belly laugh. "Dad, stop being mean, they tried their best, but when you go up against true royalty, there is always something that you'll lack." Robin asserted cheerfully.
"I have a confession to make, when I first heard about you, I hated you, but Ben came here to this school, he changed a lot of things in our lives along with his mate, he showed both Robin and I the real you, the father who yearns for his son and the king who wants what's best for his people, I'm so sorry that I judged you without knowing you, but sitting here now and having a conversation with you , I can proudly say that I'm glad to be your son in law." Kyra exclaimed and the king stood up walked to the other side of the table and hugged him.
This surprised a lot of those who were around them, no one expected the vampire king, the demon of blood to be so kind and gentle or even be a hugger but he had done it. "I'm glad you accepted me, it's what some parents actually want, their kids to accept them, not the other way around, so if you ever need me just call for me and I will be there." Lacrio promised the witch but it wasn't just for the witch, it was for his son as well. "Thank you, dad." Robin expressed as his father sat back down to enjoy his dessert.
"You're welcome, my boy." He replied as they continued to laugh and enjoy their meal, Kyra realized also that the alliance Ameli and Kaiser were trying to build, didn't have all the royal factions, that's why they were trying to enact a plan to resurrect the abominations of the world.

"What if they don't like me, what if they don't approve of us because of my family, I don't want them hating me because they think I am dark bitch." Theo complained as he paced back and forth in their room at Ben's house, since they couldn't be in the mystic realm with all the drama going on there the neo beast realm was a great hideout.
"Babe they will love you, believe me, they will, you just have to show up, you can't chicken out now when they know you're coming, that's not putting effort babe." Tai argued and Theo felt even more guilty, he had promised to meet them, but with a past like his, and a family a quarter of the fae hates, it was easy not be liked, even by his mates's family. "You're going to be okay, I promise you that, if they give you a reason not to stay then we can summon Merc and he'll take us back." Tai comforted his mate who was still uneasy.
Tai knew Theo wasn't easily convinced, it took a lot to make him cave to anything, his own self hatred at times made it worse, he didn't have the best time growing up, and learning to trust new people was a big leap for him, he's overprotective and rash, powerful yet weak when faced with an obstacle that challenges his own personal self.
A knock on the door made both fae turn to see who it was. "Come in!" Theo called out and Hayes walked in, he always made air around him either cold or hot, each step he took radiated dominance that even Tai acknowledged. "Let me guess, you're whining about meeting Tai's parents." Hayes shot at Theo who happened to hide behind Tai, it was a known fact that Theo saw Hayes like an older brother, close to a parental figure so when he wanted to complain, he feared Hayes would go ballistic.
"Babe, he's just here to talk, I hope." Tai bit out and Hayes chuckled sitting on the bed, it wasn't a lie that the demon was intimidating, he was the mate to Benjamin, those two were scary when they wanted to be. "I'm not here to beat your ass, Theo, I'm here to advise you, so sit." Hayes ordered and Theo sat by the bed like a child waiting for a scolding. "Have you met Tai's parents?" Hayes questioned with his signature smirk. "No I haven't." The fae replied biting his lip.
"How do you know they won't like you, and how do you know they are like the rest of the fae who hate your family, you're judging them without knowing them, I thought we talked about this." Hayes calmly asserted and Theo sighed knowing that they had and he had promised not to judge people without even knowing them. "I'm sorry, it's just, they are Tai's family, I don't want them to feel or think that I'm bad for their son." He explained and Tai hugged him, Hayes smiled sadly because, over the years of knowing Theo, one trait had stuck.
Deep down he was a child who wanted approval from those he valued most. "I know what you're going through, but I believe Tai's parents are different and you need to give them a chance, Theo everyone has a past but it's not what determines who we are as individuals, so go out there and have that dinner with his parents, maybe you'll even realize that they aren't so bad." Hayes asserted with a proud stance and Theo felt reassured, so he nodded to Tai. "You should get going." Hayes added before he walked out.
"He's going to be a great dad." Tai mumbled and indeed Theo agreed, the demon Hayes was going to be an awesome father. "Merc, I summon you." Tai uttered and a neo beast appeared in the room. "Please take us to my parents at the school." He asked and the beast smiled holding out his hands for them, when they connected, the fae vanished and appeared on the roof of the dining hall where parents were having dinner with their children.
"Oh, my goddess." It was Tai's mother who had shrieked when she saw the neo beast, to the students it was something normal, lately whenever a faction leader was around, a neo beast was not far. "It's okay mom." Tai quickly comforted his mother. "His name is Merc, a very good friend of ours." Tai nodded to Merc with a smile and he vanished. "Goodness who would have such a summoning." His father was the one who interjected. "Actually he's a part of Benjamin, not a summoning." Theo argued as he stood awkwardly at the table.
"Oh my, you must be Theo, I've heard a lot about you and very little of it is good, what are your intentions with my son." Tai's father accused and Theo knew this was going to be a long night. "I don't have horrid intentions for your son, sorry to disappoint, he's my mate and the only intentions I have for him are loving him and making sure he knows he's loved and appreciated for who he is." Theo replied calmly yet defensively.
"Your old actions would argue otherwise." The man argued and Theo sighed. "You can judge me by my past and that's on you, I really don't care, I'm with Tai and I love him, I may want you to accept me but I won't go above and beyond for it, the only person I would do that for is my mate." Theo replied the man daring him to say anything to trigger him. "Who is the dominant partner in your relationship if I may ask?" Tai's mother questioned and Tai facepalmed. "Tai is." Theo replied trying hard not to blush.
"Alright that's enough Menti, you've badgered him enough." Tai's mother was the one who stopped her mate, somehow her last question had meaning and Theo didn't want to find out about it. "I'm sorry I came onto you like that, Tai is our youngest boy, and as a parent, you want the right partner for your son, and I think the goddess was right in pairing you two, you stand up for what you believe and that's a trait most children don't have." Tai's father confessed as they ordered.
"Thank you, sir." Theo mumbled his response and the two engaged Tai's mother and Tai himself in a conversation about school and their futures, Halwright wasn't going to see another display of power tonight. Theo cursed himself for wishful thinking when an explosion occurred at the incubus dorm, luckily the shield around it reacted right on time. "What now." Tai groaned as he looked out. "Hayes has it handled." Theo asserted as he sat down again at the table.
"Halwright is interesting as always." Tai's father mumbled with a glint of mischief that made Theo wonder, how innocent was his father in law.
