HALWRIGHT SCHOOL OF SUPERNATURALS - Chapter 48: Chapter 48

"Mael." Hayes growled as he looked at the angel that has just walked in, the ball was over, it had ended with half the royals not showing up and the rest only showing up to say farewell to their kids, so Taylor being the mischievous brat he was turned the mother up and the ball became a party which parents and children alike enjoyed, until everyone started dropping to the ground unconscious.
Only the eleven supremes and the adviser Benjamin were standing looking at the angel with a cocky smirk on his face. "You better have a good reason for being here." Ben warned as a katana appeared in his hand, his four neo beasts appeared around him in defense. "I'm not here to fight my love, not yet anyway, I'm here to deliver a warning, the war between our schools isn't over and now that you've completed your tedious parents week, it's time we finally finished, don't you agree." The next king of the angels remarked as he looked at Hayes to Benjamin.
"Give it a rest Mael, you were defeated already, stop making a fool of yourself and Vastorway." Carter argued looking at the male in front of him but the angel seemed to focus on Ben only, the witch himself knew Mael was looking for something and stalling them here, so immediately Devin appeared by his side, and together they held hands. "Activate." The two mystics called out and the school immediately went on lockdown, the three golden barriers of Halwright glowed with power in the evening sky.
"Taylor, Tate, Theo, Robin, and Alarion, find whoever is in the school, kill them." Hayes ordered and immediately the five vanished to look for the one Mael was stalling for, the angel smirked, he knew they would figure it out almost instantly. A long katana appeared in Hayes's palm as well, he pointed it toward the angel. "I've had enough of you, your mother and every wretched twisted parent of ours that came here, leave before I cut you down then leave in pieces." The demon warned just as Mael had his own blade in hand.
In a flash the angel was attacking the demon, the two blades clashed and sparks of gold rained down when the two grazed each other again, Mael swung his blade at sonic speed to cut down the demon but Hayes flipped back avoiding him completely, Mael lunged for him again but this time the demon was ready, Hayes bent to the left and swiped Mael off his feet, he cut the angel's left side, Mael flipped over and into the sky clutching his left side, he couldn't believe anyone could be that fast or could have that kind of agility.
"Focus or you'll die!" Hayes yelled as the angel held his blade above his head and the demon grazed over it with his own letting sparks rain down onto the ground, the two dodged and attacked the other in an art form, Mael's wound had healed but there was pain, somehow he knew it was the blade Hayes held, he took a blade from his thigh and threw it at Hayes, when the demon dodged the blade it made an opening for Mael, he burst in fury toward Hayes, swiping him off his feet then plunging his blade into him, when the angel didn't feel any mass he was alarmed.
Hayes circled Mael creating afterimages of himself in the process, he was too fast for the angel's eyes he knew that so he used it to his advantage, the first cut was appealing, he then began to cut Mael at different vital points until the angel was on his knees clutching his stomach, seeing as there was no option but to retreat Mael pulled out every weapon he had and threw them at Hayes in astonishing speed whilst Hayes was throwing away the weapons with his katana Mael vanished from where he was.
On the roof of the Hall the angel appeared what he didn't expect to see was Hayes there with him, he scoffed looking at the demon, obviously he had gotten rid of his diversion easily. "You might be the next king of the angels but never accept a challenge to a weapons fight by a Shadows demon, only one other family can win against us, and they're not even angels, I don't know what you're planning Mael but I advise you to stop now before I kill you." The demon warned just Tate and Theo threw two angels and a witch onto the ground near the archive gallery.
"Plan failed I guess." Mael conceded just as his wings sprouted from his back and he flew off through the barrier, Hayes sighed as he vanished and appeared where the others were, his mate was already there, three orbs of white spherical orbs danced in Ben's palm until each one moved into one of the three mystics dead on the floor. "How?" The witch asked as she got up from the ground but Theo pushed her down. "I'm Hayes Shadows, and you're about to tell me everything you know about whatever Mael is planning, if not I'm guessing you're okay with being dead." The demon exclaimed and the girl immediately nodded.
"That didn't take much." Tate taunted as he waited for the girl to talk, the other two angels were silent but he could smell their fear, they were surrounded by the strongest students at Halwright and they had just come back from the dead, it would be unusual not being afraid. "I will tell you everything please I don't want to die again." The witch pleaded as she looked around her, the two angels beside her nodded toward her as well so she had permission to speak.
"Go on already, we're waiting." Carter added as he looked at her. "Mael wanted the chalice of immortality, with the right spell the elixir that gives immortality can also give new life to a body that had been mummified." She confessed and everyone knew why he was after it, they had forgotten about Connor and Corey, now it seemed Mael had found one or several of the tombed abominations. Hayes knew they needed to needed to act fast, Halwright wasn't as safe as he thought it was.
"When does he plan on attacking the school or using the abominations to purge the mystic races?" Carter questioned looking at the two whimpering angels, they showed even more fear when Tate growled. "We don't know, but what we do know is that he's planning on getting rid of this school before he does the purge, he and the other supreme believe Halwright and it's exiled are the biggest obstacles in his way, so he's going to remove you." One of the angels replied which made Carter stumble back, a portal opened then and the witch along with the two angels vanished.
The golden barrier that was the first defense to any attack on Halwright fluctuated as it was attacked, Devin's eyes turned pure white and the barrier responded, in a flash of white, pure raw power was shot out destroying everything around the school below or above, the demon supreme sighed as he looked at his friends, at his pregnant mate who had his neo beasts guarding him and his nephew, they had to protect their home.
"Papa." Taylor choked out as fear was finally making its way all around them, their parents were part of this Hayes knew it, he also knew Mael would stop at nothing to gain power and get this goal. "It's okay sweetheart." Hayes comforted his nephew, Taylor clung to Hayes and Ben, he was terrified of what was coming. "We have to fight." Alarion announced. "We are counted amongst the strongest mystics in our time, we can do this, Benjamin, Kyra, you're the two strongest witches I've ever seen, Hayes you just fought Mael and won, we've all been through a lot and we've survived all of it, we can do this, we just need to have faith in each other and ourselves, if we give up now, we've lost." The angel exclaimed as he looked to everyone, his words were clear.
"Devin and Kyra, open portals to different parts of the mystic realm where parents have come from, Taylor, get Alfin and fly to the forbidden forest and check for any intruders, Theo I need you to summon the divine forest beings, Paige I need you to summon your full power by the sea, they will come from there and we need to prepare a defence, Alarion, Robin, Tate, and Carter, fortify the school and get the students to the assembly hall, Lucian in your dragon form, you and I will activate the pillars, babe we need the sun." Hayes ordered just as everyone stepped back.
Raw power emanated from Ben as before he spoke. "God Circle: Rah's Sun." Ben called out just as everything became silent, they could all feel it moving in the air, they could all feel the shift in power as the perfect symmetrical shape made itself in Ben's palm, as it grew bigger Ben moved from the ground, he shot up straight into the sky, his light illuminated all that was Halwright and beyond, it broke the spell on the parents and students, just as the others realized this, they all sprung into action.
"Benjamin, these are crucial times now, your protection and the baby come first, we can't separate from you like this, it's become dangerous." The neo beast of Visions remarked and Ben didn't argue, he knew Vision was right so he nodded to OL, Drac, Verity, and Vision, one after the other they moved into Ben, merging with him in the deepest way. Ben flew down and moved to the hall where students were being gathered, all eleven factions moved in a steady speed to get in but before the witch got to the door he saw his only coven member waving at him.
"Lario, has your mum gotten back safe?" Ben questioned the witch who nodded immediately. "She did, Kyra made sure of it, he even placed protections spells on her and my family, so I'm not worried but I'm worried about this place, I was thinking of a way to reflect attacks on the school using my magic, Kyra's and Devin's." Lario replied and Ben moved them away from the crowded area."Explain." Ben ordered and Lario kneeled down onto the stone path.
"The school was perfectly crafted for defence and retreat right, but also for reflection, my theory was what if we could use magic similar to your tetragrams, we could summon several around the school, they could rotate absorbing and reflecting attacks like mirrors, they could work in concert with the pillars Hayes is going to activate, you have enough power to make this happen but the strain on your body could hurt you or —." Lario explained as he finished he pointed to Ben's stomach.
"The idea can work." Kyra exclaimed as he and Devin appeared beside Ben, the witch remained silent as he calculated everything in his head, he had already crafted the spell able to make the mirrors, what he needed was phantom manipulation and Kyra's runes. Ben flicked his fingers and they all appeared at the center point of Halwright which was the study park, a golden circle etched itself on the ground along with hieroglyphs and a golden tetragram.
The four of them stood at four cardinal points on the circle representing Halwright. "Each one of you place the representation of your power onto the circle, Kyra place the runes for the ice mirrors I will place mine as well." Ben instructed as Kyra's palm burst into blue flames, his other hand runes were etched onto every part of it, he kneeled down and placed the two powers onto the ritual circle, Devin handed down the same as his phantom glyphs rolled onto the circle in thick black smoke, a circular spiral of elements was placed by Lario just as Ben placed his flame and runes.
All four stepped away from the ritual circle, Ben placed the spell they were to cast in their minds so they didn't need to say anything besides. "Protego Lexmos Talimaxis Egoesvos." They all spoke the spell one after the other, bright red light shot up from the pillars that guarded the school, just as it did so did the mirrors that the four had cast, instead of them being four, there were almost too many to count all rotating between the bigger ones.
"Now that's what I'm talking about." Alarion praised as he looked at the sky, he knew the battle wasn't going to be easy, but they had survived and they were going to continue as long as they had something to fight for.
