A pentagram had been etched onto the floor, various runes and glyphs were inscribed on it and around it, in the middle of the pentagram was the Egyptian symbol for the deity Seht, the one who had done all this was a man with orange almost chestnut hair, it was long enough to reach his shoulders but he had styled it not to, his caramel skin glimmered in the candlelight which lit the room, his obsidian eyes were focused on his task so much so that even when the angel walked in he barely paid him any mind.
He kept working, drawing runes and glyphs, after he was done, he flicked his fingers and black candles appeared on each point of the pentagram. "Do you have what I asked for?" He questioned the angel just as Nico walked into the room. "Here, extremely rare ingredients, I'm sorry I took long, they were hard to find." The witch noble apologized but the man nodded in understanding. "Unicorn heart, naga blood, fox ashes, willow bark, bloodroot, red fern, witch hazel, dead man's blood and volcanic ash mixed with angel feathers along with sun blessing." He recited it all adding one after the other.
His bowl was set up with all his ingredients inside, he stirred the mixture bleeding into it until it turned a black color that Nico and Mael seemed not to like, gauntlets appeared on his hands, they shimmered in the candlelight, their intricate design making the witch in the room gasp but not speak up. The man took his mixture and poured it onto the pentagram, just as he did so he grabbed the last ingredient, a green viper which hissed at him, in a quick motion he was gutting the snake and letting its blood flow onto the mixture he had poured previously.
"This is a thirteenth echelon spell how are you performing it, it needs a massive amount of energy." Nico blurted baffled by the spell he was seeing. "I see you know your craft child of magic, when I came back to this world recently, there was a witch there, he conjured a temporal dimension, one I'd never thought was possible, it made him a ruler of time and space, I've never felt so much power, I need to protect myself." The man replied with a slight quiver. "Why would you do that Annel?" Mael questioned looking at the man.
"You don't understand do you, you haven't felt what I felt when I looked into his eyes, my four kin are gone, their souls were shredded out of existence, their power he and his mate took, purified and made their own." Annel replied as he stepped onto the middle of his pentagram. "If I'm to survive and not fall to the same fate I must protect myself." He asserted as the pentagram glowed a deep orange and a heavy purple fog began to whirl around him, it created a cocoon around him until it was all absorbed into his skin.
"Benjamin doesn't have that kind of power." Mael argued but neither Nico or Annel looked convinced. "Mael, Ben can perform a sixteenth echelon spell with the flick of a finger, he created a dimension of his own with a complete society, he rerouted the Time Pillar, you have to admit that Ben is a lot stronger than you want to admit." Nico expressed hoping his point would be taken into consideration. "I know the witch, he might be a siphon with multiple spanning abilities but to kill hybrids of Annel's caliber is ludicrous." Mael argued again but it was in vain, Annel chuckled looking at him.
"You have no idea what you're dealing with angel, you might be powerful but there are others just as powerful, let me tell you a story, maybe you won't be so adamant in believing the siphon witch is more of a threat than you realize." Mael scoffed looking at Annel but did not go further, Nico was also paying attention to the man who wanted to reveal something he didn't know about their enemy. "In the time before the great purge of bloodlines, before the siphon witches were hunted and killed, a special child was born, to a demon and a siphon witch, in most cases when there is a cross between species the child is considered hybrid like myself but this child was completely a witch, what set him apart was his base abilities, he was a siphon with an entity, like that of a wolf." The man began and he realized both the two men in the room were listening.
"You see a hybrid would be demon and witch, this child was witch with a second soul, an anomaly which wasn't questioned at first, this child grew to be powerful, made his bloodline special, when the demon father realized what they had created, he was greedy for more, therefore he and his wife created more children, thus the first seven siphon witches with entities were born, these witches quickly rose in power until it came to a point where their mastery of craft surpassed the royal witches of the time, they overthrew the royals and were crowned themselves, as children who were brought up with kindness, the witches flourished in the new rule, they too in time brought their spawn into the world but unlike them, their children had entities but could not siphon." Annel explained showing images of the old texts and documents.
"Just like Kyra and Ben, one can siphon the other can't, but both of them come from the same bloodline, Syre." Nico interjected and Annel made a sharp turn to face him. "So that's why I felt his power, he's a pureblood." Annel mumbled to no one exactly. "You were saying." Mael exclaimed and the man was brought back to reality. "The first of the children was the only one who bore children who could both siphon and had an entity, when his siblings realized this they weren't exactly happy, some of them eventually had children who could siphon, with the right timing of course, with the witches prospering some of the nobles began to envy what they could not have, desire what wasn't theirs, in secret over time these nobles orchestrated in the dark, planning the downfall of their king and kin." Annel explained as an image of the old witch king appeared.
"They attacked much later, two thousand years ago to be exact." Mael offered and Annel nodded. "Indeed, the great purge of bloodlines was done to eradicate the king and the siphons but not because of his rule but because they feared his power, though he had already stepped down as King and his son who had an entity but could not siphon had taken his place: The purge was put into motion, they killed the old king because a siphon is an endless abyss of power, they can absorb and store it for a long time with the right vessel in place, they cannot be easily taken down since any spell thrown at them can easily be absorbed into the skin, and if a siphon were to be mated to a powerful mystic then their power grows immensely, they will get complete access to that mystic's kind of magic and that's that last thing you want to happen." Annel mumbled looking dazed, it was as if he knew from personal experience what he was narrating.
"Ben and Hayes are nothing special, and his siblings aren't siphons, only he is." Mael announced but Annel didn't seem convinced. "There are two others who will wield the same gifts he does, I felt it when I was close to him, tell me what is his full title?" The man questioned Nico who was trying hard to keep his anger under control. "Benjamin Roman Syre, master of the neo beasts, the shade summoner, the witch of Verve and Fury." Mael replied looking outside. "And you think someone with that title can easily be taken down, on top of that he has royal blood in his veins, he's taken power from the pillars of Holiness, his mate is the exiled demon king and he's siphoned the very flames of magic in my kin, think again of your strategy angel." Annel warned as he walked toward the door.
"I'm grateful you helped me come back but what you did was stupid." Annel berated but not only Nico was surprised by this, Mael was too. "Just be grateful hybrid." The angel snapped back. "There are things held by time angel, that is why messing with it is forbidden, why do you think the witch you love so much froze time during my resurrection, he had no choice, he who shall not be named is held by the very fabrics of time itself, altering time or making it go haywire like what was done could've freed him, his prison is made from the marble of the Greek pantheon, the waters from the river Nile, the steel from the eternal forge of the Celtics, those who believed enough taught that Osiris's orb is the one that keeps all these things together and intact, if ever he should be let free not even I could stand up against him, so you must understand how idiotic it was to use the pillar of time." Annel replied walking out the door.
Nico turned around to leave as well. "Mael I know Ben is special to you, but remember that he is as powerful as you, as powerful as Hayes, take heed of what Annel said, siphons grow in power and their supply never runs out, Ben is a perfect example for it, I know you want your dream to become reality but that single witch and his demon mate stand in your way, find a way to get rid of them, maybe Annel can help, I don't know, what I do know is that to fulfill what you want you have to get rid of Ben or get his power." Nico advised and walked out the door, the angel hadn't replied, what could he say anyway, he still loved Ben, if only the witch could want him back, he was even willing to have Hayes as well but it would never happen, so he sighed and walked out of the room toward the council building.

"Report!" Mael ordered the girl who stood beside Demetrius the next king of the demons. "Yes master Mael, the body of the fourth abomination was taken by his grace Benjamin, we don't know what happened to it after he took it, four pillars have been nullified, the pillar of light has been protected but his grace Alarion still draws from it, Halwright has been placed under security, they are getting ready for war, with our lack of spies in the school, the only thing we know for certain is that the school had multiple defense systems in place." She surmised and waited for the angel to blow but he never did.
"They've gotten stronger, more coordinated." Demetrius added looking at Mael. "I'm aware Demitri, Axe, Tyrone, Nico, Melvin, and Kat are you ready for your opponents and the rest of you, are you ready to back up our army?" The angel questioned looking at his fellow leaders around him. "I can't wait to tear Lucian apart." The girl Katrina boasted with pride, everyone noticed but didn't question or comment, she was a prideful creature, dragons always were. "I'm not sure which one is my opponent, Kyra, or Ben." Nico noted and everyone turned to face Mael which questionable stances.
"The advisor of the council is not to participate in the war directly anyway, he is to observe as ruler besides Ben is royalty and is still your prince, your opponent is Kyra, I suspect he's ready." Mael replied and Nico seemed to relax ever so slightly. "The rest of us have faced our opponents all we can do is help the students." Esteban mumbled with scorn and the angel didn't like it. "Did you beat Theo, no, he beat you, you're allowed to challenge him again, you'll only be attracting more humiliation to yourself." The supreme responded harshly yet Esteban knew it was true. "Get the first wave ready, we attack in the night." Axe the wolf shifter announced with a grin on his face, he couldn't wait to see his cousin.
