HALWRIGHT SCHOOL OF SUPERNATURALS - Chapter 53: Chapter 53

Portals opened in front of the school itself, they couldn't open anywhere else, and besides, ariel attacks, sea or forest attacks seemed to be unable to pass through the defenses Halwright had set up, it was the one thing they hadn't accounted for but they wouldn't lose, not to a bunch of unwanted royals and children. "I hate this place." Axe grumbled as he walked in front of the first wave of attack, he saw no point in stalling, so from where he was a sphere of black energy swirled just in front of his face, it grew bigger and bigger until it shadowed the school in front of them.
Then he released, it hurtled toward the school but never exploded on impact with the barrier. Nine black tails moved behind him, his eyes trained on the wolf who had attacked his home, in one swift motion, the explosive sphere vanished shocking everyone, Tate hovered in the air, he was a being swimming in an endless sea of power, his tails gently swaying around him. "Hello cousin." The kitsune greeted with his eyes partially shifted just like his tails. "Hello halfbreed." Axe replied hoping to bait Tate on his anger but it never came.
What surprised them was the kick delivered to Axe, it only registered when the impact finally made a show, gasps from several of the Vastorway mystics floated around but Tate didn't care, he had just made the first move but with that first move came his army, in a flash of bright white the first wave of Halwright's own appeared, what shocked them, even more, it was only four people. Taylor, Tai, Theo, and Alfin, they were the four man army against a thousand. "Go, we've got this." Theo called out and Tate nodded.
The kitsune vanished and appeared between the sea and the forest where his cousin had landed, the wolf seemed to have healed already. "You do know I'm a superior species right?" Axe mused as his bones cracked back into place. "There isn't such a thing my dear cousin, we are all the same under the moon." Tate replied as his tails seemed to take on an orange glow from their usual black, the wolf growled and lunged for his opponent, Axe swiped his claws at Tate but when his hand went through he knew there was nothing good coming his way,  the kitsune attacked from behind, he punched Axe but the green aura coated on the wolf made sure there was no damage, his will had gotten stronger.
The wolf attacked again knowing where Tate was, he set off a barrage of fists on Tate but each one was dodged with precision and speed, he flipped back but before he landed Tate was kicking his lower back, the attack threw Axe into the trees which all broke in half on impact, the wolf growled again as Tate hissed, he hovered in the air again waiting for Axe to attack, green spears appeared in front of the wolf and were sent toward Tate, the kitsune knew this was a diversion so he simply veered to the right and blocked the kick that Axe was about to deliver to his left side.
"You've gotten rusty cousin." Tate taunted as he looked at the wolf, he didn't get a response only a beam of green sent toward him which exploded the moment of impact but Tate didn't flinch or move. "It tingles." The kitsune mumbled as the smoke dissipated, they began to fight then, each one with speed the other tried to match, Tate flipped back in order to avoid the spear aimed at his stomach, what he didn't account for was the wolf behind him, a large sphere of green was pressed onto his back, it exploded and in the process threw the kitsune into the water.
Tate knew his cousin was getting serious therefore he had to as well, he moved from the water and straight up into the air, when he looked down he saw Axe and the multiple versions of him with green eyes surrounding him, he had summoned them from his aura, it also weakened it there was his opening, Tate's first tail glowed red and flames erupted around Axe, they fed off anything near the wolf and surrounded him, he began burning the oxygen from around Axe so that he couldn't breathe and that's when he attacked.
He went past the flames and punched Axe who was struggling for air, he attacked with a barrage of combos on his cousin until the wolf coughed out blood, Axe used the final attack from Tate to make distance between them, the fire vanished just as Axe completely shifted into a large black wolf, he lunged for the kitsune who evaded his attacks, Tate used his tails as shields to block the wolf's attack but only succeeded in making the wolf angrier, the kitsune shifted completely as well and took on an attack from the wolf that threw him back and crashing into the trees.
Before Tate could recover a barrage of spears rained on him, a sphere appeared as well and was sent toward the kitsune, Tate saw no way to avoid the attack so he hoped his shield would hold, on impact with the shield an explosion that rocked the entire forest was heard and felt, Axe waited to see the result of his attack and the result was pleasing, Tate was on one knee coughing out blood. "Will you beg for mercy now or should I continue?" Axe taunted but the kitsune burst from the ground into the air, when the sun hit his skin he felt himself heal and change.
The third tail glowed a dark blue as the sky changed into darkness, lightning flashed in the clouds, charging up to its maximum potency. "Kyra would be proud." The kitsune mumbled to himself and released the lightning with a force only one other person could muster, on the ground Axe was holding up his barrier but it wasn't going to last, he screamed as the lightning finally shattered his barrier and he felt the raw power tear him apart, his screams of pain echoed all around them.
When the lightning stopped Tate was already on the ground, he punched the staggering wolf, Axe retaliated with a swipe at the kitsune's left side but it didn't reach him, Tate used his knee to injure the wolf's stomach then swiped him off his feet sending a blast of energy as he went down throwing him to the boulders that their fight had brought up. Axe coughed out blood and growled at the kitsune who hissed at him as well. In a burst of speed, the two were fighting again, claws and fists dodging and throwing each other away for the other to attack again, Axe bit down on Tate's shoulder, he wanted to rip the whole thing off but when he felt Tate's hand and claws pierce through his abdomen he was at a loss.
His slight pause gave Tate time to attack, with a head butt and a tail crashing down on the wolf who let go of his shoulder and made distance between them, both of them were injured but their healing would take care of it, Tate hissed as his eyes turned into reptilian slits, Axe growled as well as his green aura resonated and he growled loudly toward Tate, green spears appeared in his palms as his eyes turned black completely.

"Cataclysm." Theo cast as a gigantic tornado appeared from thin air, the ground broke and lava spewed from the cracks, from the swirled whirlpool lightning struck in heavy bolts, those who could shield themselves tried their best to do so but to some, it was useless the attack from the fae was too much to handle, they all felt it's severity.
Behind Theo, Tai laid his hands on the ground which summoned beings that shocked everyone from Vastorway, wood golems were rare and summoning them hard, they sprung up from the ground with their destructive powers and in their numbers, it wasn't war without casualties but many were about to occur but those of Halwright weren't to blame,  the golems attacked with force pushing back the students of Vastorway, those who got hurt or were at the brink of death vanished from the battlefield.
"Taylor it's time." Theo announced as he flew above the masses, what surprised the fae was the army of green berserks headed toward the golems, he realized there was a fae helping the Vastorway students, and when he spotted him, his anger spiked. "Esteban is here and he's helping them." Theo relayed to everyone on his side of the battlefield. "Enact protocol 4." Alfin replied from the ground and Theo flew up into the sky. "Dark Script: Heathen God's Wrath." From the sky, dark clouds gathered, and it didn't take long to realize they were about to release a massive attack.
Vines appeared and protected the dwindling army but Theo knew they wouldn't do any good, this was one attack not even vines could repel. "Rain down hell fire." Theo mumbled and from the sky meteors and fire rained down, they destroyed the vines and went through to kill their opponents, the attack lasted for longer than Theo anticipated but it had worked the army was hurt and incapacitated, the fighting resumed as students of Vastorway fought the wood golems.
Alfin shifted into his true form, his tail and raven wings gently swayed to his command, he burst into the sky then came down to tunnel through the army, it was annoying that Mael would send weaklings to fight like this, but he didn't have the luxury to feel sorry, he cut down and crushed his opponents with ease, slicing through them with his wings and his blades, sigils appeared around him in a semi circle, they protected him from the fire and earth being hurled at him as combined attacks.
To him it was pointless. "Enchanted Haze." The incubus uttered as a black fog appeared and slithered from his mouth, it froze everyone near its vicinity, keeping them in a frozen daze, he began to suck out their life force as they were frozen and unable to move or attack, an earthquake rumbled around Alfin, to avoid whatever was causing it he flew into the air but that was his mistake, lightning hit him, it made him scream and release his attack on the army, he was thrown to the barrier of Halwright bloody and bruised, it seemed they expected him to stay down but he got up and two blades formed in his palm. A war cry tore from his throat as a black bird appeared from his aura and screeched loudly.
He burst from the ground and attacked with more ferocity than before, they may have been ready to defend or attack but they weren't ready for this, he began attacking with his black aura turned into weapons, he was also manipulating shadows, as his nature granted him, he dodged the spear that whizzed past through him, in retaliation he sent his own which was dodged as well, the incubus clasped his palms together and breathed in as his wings beat into the air. "Cover yourself!" One of the army soldiers yelled just as the incubus released his attack, a large raven appeared and screeched again but this time it's screeching caused mayhem and then black feathers rained from it, they paralyzed their victims on impact.
Seeing the boy he had feelings for fight more intensely caused Taylor a moment of realization, the boy wasn't just fighting for a school, he was fighting for his home, often papa would tell him that Halwright wasn't just a place, it was a welcoming home for those who were never wanted, and he knew he belonged there, his papa and dad were here, the people he loved, and this was enough for him to rise. A massive explosion occurred when the incubus let loose his true power, his eyes turned completely black as wings appeared on his back.
He burst into the air. "6th Circle: Dunes of Devastation: Nature's Purge." He had just combined his incubus nature and his demon nature to create that spell. "Thanks, dad." He mumbled. "Now I can protect you." He added as hundreds of circles appeared around him in the sky. "Let the sands be merciful." And from the circles black hands made of sand appeared, they glimmered in the sun but their destruction was worse than their beauty, every time this massive black fist came from the circles they destroyed the army significantly, when the sand gathered on the ground it formed human like beings which attacked as well.
Of course, Taylor watched the army dwindle and retreat or they were getting ready for something bigger, the ground cracked as giant hands appeared from the crack itself, something huge was coming, but they were ready for this.

"Crescent Dance."  Tate mumbled as a giant moon appeared and protected him from the attack Axe had hurled against him, when the two attacks dissipated Tate could hardly stand, his body was torn apart, half his body was broken, his ribs had multiple breaks which didn't do him any good, Axe wasn't any better, he had suffered the same if not more than Tate, he picked up his torn leg and reattached it to his body, the two of them knew that this was where the strongest would be determined.
Tate clasped his palms together he began to channel his mana to heal himself, all nine tails glowed and gently swayed upward as they too healed and swelled with power, Axe concentrated on his own body, his healing was slow because he had exhausted his mana and now Tate was about to attack, none the less he wouldn't back down, he growled as his wolf agreed with him, they wouldn't back down, Tate hissed as his power gathered, then burst in an explosion that caused everything to shake, his aura was no longer orange, he had gone completely pitch black as the night sky, only his red catslits shown but that is not what shocked Axe, it was the tenth tail on Tate that rattled him to his core.
He regained himself and stood in attack stance, he knew this was it, Tate hissed as his ten tail moved to create an arch behind him, they released a baggage of spears made of his aura, every part they pierced on the ground exploded making it a minefield for Axe to cross, but that wouldn't stop him Axe, he readied himself and burst from the ground, in front of him multiple bombs appeared and he shot them at Tate, they all exploded on impact but made little damage on him, he made a larger one appear just as he landed on the ground and shot it at the ten tailed kitsune.
He expected an explosion but his attack went on and exploded when it was high enough, he frantically looked around for Tate but he wasn't there until he felt him behind him but it was too late, a red beam was set on him already and it exploded once it got in contact with him. He screamed in pain as the energy was more than he thought, he felt himself being torn apart by it until he felt blood dripping down his torso, he realized the many holes in his abdomen were because of Tate, how they got there was a mystery.
With no time to think he gathered the last of his mana and prepared his final attack when he got to the ground,  Tate hovered in the air watching his cousin crawl to his feet, he had underestimated him, Axe had indeed underestimated Tate, he wasn't just a half breed, this was something much more and Axe knew it, he was an abomination to the were mystics.
Green waves began moving from nature itself into Axe, he began channeling the energy into his final attack toward the abomination in front of him, this would be it for his cousin, he couldn't let him live, not after witnessing this side of him. Sigils appeared in a circle in front of the wolf, each one appeared with the energy he channeled from nature and it would be his greatest weapon, Tate knew what was coming, he could feel it in the air, his seventh tail glowed and a shield appeared around him, his eighth tail glowed a dark gold and ten pillars appeared rotating anti clockwise around him, the nineth tail glowed white as sigils appeared on his fur and in front of him, this was also his final attack.
"You may detest me cousin but you won't survive this, raise your barrier and hope to survive." Tate warned as the sigils began to rotate, they created a white orb in the middle, which would release the final attack, or so Axe had surmised, the wolf scoffed but took heed of the advice given by the kitsune. Axe charged his attack, the green glow it cast shadowed everything, sparks from its power reverberated all around them, then he released the attack, it burst in fury but Tate was ready. "Moone Reflection." Tate exclaimed as the ten pillars moved into a circle, each sharp point made the circle complete in its rotation, when the attack from Axe hit the pillars they exploded in a burst of green fire, the pillars cracked but repaired as they did so.
Axe could see his attack failing, he screamed as one last burst of power came from him, the reflection mirror created by the pillars worked and they in turn, moved when the nexus Tate had created was to be released. "Feel my wrath." Tate mumbled as blazing white fury was released from his nexus, it destroyed everything in its path, Axe screamed as the full force of Tate's power hit him, he screamed so loudly that anyone near them heard him, the explosion occurred in multiple turns, and they all destroyed the wolf, Tate's power carved the ground itself and made the earth shake until the power dissipated.
Axe was on the ground in his human form, blood seeped from his mouth, his eyes were milky white and every part of him was broken, Tate moved toward him, his pillars rotated around him, his tails gently swaying in the winds that were beginning to settle with the debris, his barrier finally came down as he flew toward the body of Axe. "You should be chained and killed." Axe mumbled looking at the creature in front of him. "I would expect vile words from you, my love, I suppose only you could break me." Tate responded as his fifth tail glowed and green waves of energy pulsed from Tate's palm into Axe. "I don't love you anymore." Axe defended but the kitsune chuckled. "I know mi amore, we weren't meant to be anyway." Tate replied just as large black wings with golden glyphs covered the daylight, that was who he loved now.
Axe vanished leaving Tate as the winner.

The giant no longer had its arms and only two of five tails remained. "We need to get rid of that thing, and we also need to win this war." Theo exclaimed as Tai and the others gathered around him. "What would dad do?" Taylor mumbled to himself, indeed what would Ben or his papa do when the odds were against them. "Remember what Ben always does, multiple attacks and an unbreakable defense, mounting to one explosive finish." Tai recounted and they all nodded.
"Theo and Alfin will handle the elemental giant and the barrage, I will handle the defense, Taylor you'll be the final blow." Tai instructed and they all nodded. "Scatter!" And in an instant they had all vanished to places where they would be, the elemental giant screeched as lightning bolts were released from its tails toward Halwright but the golden barrier wouldn't even break and when the mirrors reflected the power it weakened the giant.
Theo was the first one to attack. "Elemental Script: Storm of electricity." The fae cast as a large sigil appeared in the air, it sparked of electricity and once the fae released his hold, it rained down on the giant and the remaining first wave from Vastorway, Alfin had charged enough mana and sprung into action, he burst toward the still recovering beast and cut through its legs, he twisted in the air and dived again to attack the other leg, when the giant crumbled he released his aura at once and a huge raven came about, it screeched louder than the giant, with its black wings, it wrapped itself around the crumbling giant and passed the mana onto its host, Alfin.
Seeing as the giant was down Theo let the meteor shower of ice begin, the ice should've been cold but it was scalding hot, this was the barrage that injured the multitude. "Move now!" Tai yelled as a green barrier appeared around him, and the others, another barrier had appeared around Taylor whose wings beat freely in the air. "This is my home!" The incubus yelled as a circle appeared, instead of normal yellow runes these ones were black, smoke billowed out of the circle, a heavy fog that covered the expanse of the battlefield. "Venus Style: Explosive Flare." This was the final attack from the incubus and it exploded rocking the entire area.
Screams of agony echoed all around, the fog was designed to repeat the explosions over and over until the enemy was down, it also acted like poison eating away at your soul, the ground broke apart as lava spewed and lightning hit the ground with frightening quakes, they had won in explosive glory.

Annel had been watching the battles undetected by anyone, he had seen the abomination which had been born in the form of a ten tails, the abomination between demon and incubus, they were protected by Halwright, he began to think what exactly was his place in the war, was he truly on the right side of it.
