Mael had allowed his wings to take him to the sky where Hayes easily followed. "Its you and me, one last time." Hayes mumbled as Mael kept a neutral face but he knew the demon was right, it was time they settled this, time they finally chose who was worth having Ben's love. "All my life I've had to live with your praise you know that, even when you were cast away by your own father, even when you were betrayed by your own kin, I was reminded of you, then Ben came into your life, of course you'd never let him escape you, no one ever does." Mael muttered as his eyes were now fixed on Hayes. "I am sorry Mael, life has been cruel to you and it led you to almost destroying all of us, my family included, and to let you simply live after that, I cannot, as your opposite equal, I must bring you to justice." Hayes asserted as as held out his hand and a sword much alike to excalibur appeared in it, the difference was that it was on fire, a black flame burned over it, Mael did the same, and his blade had white flames that seemed to burn yes, but also dying out, he was falling.
Hayes took a closer look of Mael's wings and indeed they were turning black, not unlike his wings that were already black, for an angel falling meant their grace was no longer pure and their wings showed, there was no recompense for that with the Goddess only a lifetime of trying to fix your mistakes, but for Mael, that would never happen. As for Mael when he looked at Hayes, he couldn't see the demon, powerful and able to cut him down, he saw a child running in a field of wheat, him trailing behind laughing to nothing, their first and only meeting, so many years ago.
Mael attacked first cutting away his day dream with ferocious fire that he threatened Hayes with, Hayes didn't dodge he parried the slash away, and slashed upward at Mael's torso who spun back to avoid the cut, but the power behind the attempted cut made it seem as if he had been cut, but he hadn't. Hayes retracted his blade and created orbs of dark matter and summoned the golden flame into being, imbuing it in the spheres then setting each one on Mael, the first ones he cut but Hayes snapped his fingers and they began to explode cutting off his vision making Mael hiss, the bombs continued until the angel let out a ferocious roar and light flooded everywhere destroying everything that had been sent to attack him, he then turned on Hayes and unleashed a beam of white scorching light, but Hayes wasn't a push over he retaliated with blazing black light unlike the angel had seen, the two powers pushed each other until they absorbed each other and exploded throwing both demon and angel into opposite directions.
Hayes shook his head getting his bearing right but Mael was already on him impaling him with his sword, Hayes covered his torso in thick amour from the neo realm so Mael's blade didn't penetrate, so when he kept trying to force it in, —he began pushing Hayes back to the ground, past the trees to the mossy ground, the demon smirked as he held out his hand and vines wrapped around Mael's legs and swung him back, slamming him into the rocks nearby that shattered on impact several times, then Hayes commanded them to release, he shot up into sky where Mael had been swung and blasted him with more power than before that it caused the angel to scream as some of his skin was peeled off by the sheer power Hayes had unleashed. Mael wasn't a king for nothing, his skin healed slowly, as another pair of wings appeared on his back and Hayes could feel the change in his power.
So he crossed his arms. "Fourth Circle: Devils Successor." He whispered as the power flowed into him like nothing before, his wings seemed to grow and unfurled revealing that he also had another pair, but this was only the start. Mael didn't waste time, he knew Hayes was much more powerful than this, and he had to cut him down, so he released his power over the mountain they now flew above, boulders came to his command and he began throwing then toward Hayes, each one being cut, blasted or turned to sand, Mael raised bigger ones, imbued them with his power and on impact they hit Hayes with twice more force and exploded, Hayes knew it was better to bide, so he let Mael have his way, the angel hit him over and over again until his body was covered in shards of rock and blood, Hayes knowing the barrage was over turned the damage he'd gotten into power, Ben's magic allowed him to do that as golden insignias appeared on his wings and he attacked with brunt force and speed shocking Mael, he punched his gut causing the angel to spit blood, an upper cut that cracked his jaw, then a shoulder chop that forced him to fall from the sky blazing like a meteor. Hayes didn't stop even when Mael was on the ground barely speaking, he pounded him down further, it was as if a large wrecking ball was being slammed over Mael's body over and over again until there was not a sound to escape his lips, then Hayes unleashed a single beam of black light that cascaded from the cloudy sky, further wrecking Mael.
When the assault was over brilliant white light blazed up into the sky, Mael flew upward and past the clouds, heaving, who would've known Hayes would be so brutal. Healing the damage he did alone took a considerable amount of power, now he needed to create an all out attack and see if it would damage Hayes enough to push him back, but before that Hayes appeared behind him swinging his leg to kick Mael as if he were a football in midair, Mael caught the leg and struck Hayes with a punch to his chest which he avoided, and the demon pushed him back using his other leg, now apart they attacked again in close combat, every kick Mael released was matched, every punch, head butt and block, indeed Hayes was his opposite equal but he'd never accept that so he pushed more, and was able to break through when his upper cut connected and Hayes was thrown back, if only that were true, around Mael were tiny grenades, and further around him was a minefield Hayes created whilst they fought, having a witch as a mate taught you more about combat, be sneaky, be fast and be smart, overthink everything and when Hayes was far enough he snapped his fingers and the grenades exploded causing Mael to hiss and scream as one had exploded right on his cheek ripping it open and on his wings tearing them apart.
"How dare you, —how dare you!" Mael screamed as he unleashed a tidal wave of explosive power and that was a mistake he soon regretted because the mine field also exploded further damaging him. The explosion rose up to the sky matching those of the previous battle that took place. Mael was healing slowly as he hovered in mid air, how could Hayes drive him down like this, he was a king, and his eyes turned black. He attacked Hayes with every ounce of power he had conjured, Hayes knew to summon armour then and it appeared protecting him from a lost mind, Mael was like a wild animal now, unable of rational thought as he attacked Hayes in a furious barrage not caring about how he was damaging his own body, he cut Hayes's legs which healed then turned for his head which he protected with his arms, as Hayes parried away the next attacks he knew Mael wanted him to die therefore he couldn't hold back so they fought. The two of them caused the sky to burst, echo in the blows they matched and attacked with as if bombs were exploding in the cloudy sky. "Die!" Mael yelled as he unleashed energy unlike before, this time it ripped through Hayes'd armour like a lazer, giving his face what would be a sexy scar, he continued his barrage until he willed his power to come together over Hayes, and explode in the fashion of an atomic bomb destroying not only the demon but the forest aswell.
But Mael wasn't done, as his attack faded and Hayes lay on the ground broken and bleeding, he held out his hand over him and forced his power, control, Hayes tried to resist, fight back but he couldn't, only his power would save him but before, Mael toyed with him. "You don't need wings." He stated in a disjointed voice as a snapping like sound echoed in the air, Hayes's wings were ripped off. "Ah— stop!" He screamed as his other pair of wings was torn off again. "No!" Mael could hear it in the air, Ben's cries as he tore apart Hayes. "Hear his scream Ben!" He called out, eyes black as night, then he broke Hayes's arm off and continued to break his bones, when he was done, he released. Hayes felt the pain in his soul, as a part of him was ripped off, his arm fell next to him as Mael hovered in the sky and unleashed another sphere that would explode the moment he hit the ground, and as his body fell past the tree canopy to the ground, so did the sphere that would explode but it never did, the sky darkened as rain began to fall, a cry for the demon, and magic so ancient permeated the air.
"Finally you die." Mael whispered as his wings turned completely black and his eyes turned back to normal, he had truly fallen from grace. As for Hayes, he lay on the ground motionless but power bubbled inside him. "The fear of death is the resolve killer, the fear of what will be clouds judgement, the fear of not allowing ourselves to become, destroys our souls, so I must forge on." He mumbled to himself as his body released steam and a purple light overtook his whole being molding him back, his arm, his wings scattered in the forest flew to him on their own and each pair put itself back on his body like skin sawing itself back in place. "Forbidden Circle: King's Right." Hayes mumbled as the sky darkened even more and instead of pure rain, black rain began to fall, a show to his power coming into being, as he was raised into the sky his body grew bigger and his wings aswell revealing two more pairs of wings shocking Mael completely.
"What —how?" He hissed as Hayes waved his hand and pure unbridled power scorched the angel king leaving him burned and unable to describe what he felt. "You breaking me, is what I needed to gain the power of my predecessors, so thank you." Hayes spoke facing the shocked angel who had golden marks appearing on his skin. "This is from Ben." He told Mael as the dark sky unleashed a beam of purple energy so strong that Mael had no chance of stopping it even when he tried because it was the accumulation of all their previous attacks and it broke him, unlike what he did to Hayes. When it all subsided Mael had only his pair of wings and Hayes ready to strike him down again with a sphere of accumulated chaos energy. "In your words, die." Hayes mumbled as the sphere touched the fallen angel's skin and exploded. "No!" Mael screamed as all the chaos he had created, the madness and death played over in his mind as his body experienced all the previous attacks he had been put through, it was mind numbing like what he did to Hayes but this was only the beginning for him. "I wont accept defeat!" He screamed as his torture faded and light flooded his whole being, Mael was equally powerful, his mind was broken but he had power, so his body grew in the light as behind him two pairs of wings appeared, all black to show he had fallen, he flew right past Hayes to the sky, past the clouds so the sun would give him power but when the sun embraced him there was no power.
"Haven't you noticed Mael, you've fallen." Hayes pointed out as shock registered on his face. "No it can't be!" He yelled but it was. "Did you think you would remain pure after all you've done." Hayes taunted as Mael hissed. "Shut up." He spat as he looked at Hayes. "Let's end this." Hayes replied as he began accumulating energy for a final strike and so did Mael, this was it, the deciding finish as Mael gathered all his power in a single blow, much like Hayes, their power materialized in large spheres brimming with chaotic energy, red hot and for Mael, it was all the divine energy he could summon and the two unleashed their attacks on each other, blazing in the sky to decide fate, and when they collided an explosion that caused tremors on the ground and engulfed the school miles away in a flash of brilliant light occurred, along with destroying more of the school aswell.  When it subsided a pair of wings disappeared from the two, angel and demon. Hayes appeared behind Mael. "Unlike you with control, I will cut you down myself." He whispered over the heaving angel, shocking him as a blade went through his back to his chest and out, then the demon placed his knee on the angel's back an tore off his second pair of wings making him feel what he felt. "No please, no!" Mael begged as Hayes let go of the wings he tore and grabbed the first set and pulled, tearing flesh and bone apart, blood spattering on his face.
The blood splattered on Hayes's face, slipped into his mouth and when he swallowed his eyes changed, a red dragon slit appearing oved a black background, a true demon, before Mael could register anything with the pain flooding him, Hayes pulled out his blade imbued it with black fire and cut off Mael's arms, yes— both of them, then flipped over and cut off his legs. "Forbidden circle: Lucifer's prison." A golden sphere appeared and encased Mael in mid air whose eyes were now deathly in shock over what Hayes had done. "You'll die soon, but I'd like you to know, you would've been a better person if you had just quit when you could." Hayes stated as the sphere he held the mutilated Mael turned red and he screamed in agony. "Just make it stop." He begged as Hayes conjured a rainbow sphere, the power of the hybrids now his to command. "I saved this for you, to erase you from the world." Hayes whispered as he took a sliver of the rainbow power and mixed it with red, golden, purple and black energy, pieces of him and Ben.  The prison dissipated for him to pass through and place the molded energy on Mael's chest. "Goodbye, my friend." He added as he placed a kiss on Mael's lips, he didn't deserve to die like this, after all —his mind had been broken by his own father, but his crimes could only be wiped clean with this.
"Your soul is strong, combined with my power, you shall be a conduit to bring back all the innocent lives you took, a fitting death." Hayes explained as the sphere burrowed into Mael's heart and with one breath his mind was brough to peace and then all because of Hayes an explosion of ancient power, a light so bright it blinded everyone and cleared the clouds away so the sun could shine again. When the blinding light that seemed to overtake the sun dissipated a figment of Mael appeared. "You were the better one Hayes, tell Benjamin I'm grateful for the time he loved me, even when I wasn't worth it, and as for you my friend, thank you, for just that one day of peace." Mael whispered as his whole being like dying embers vanished into the wind. "I will Mael." Hayes replied as he was embraced by the sun, it healed him, and he smiled, finally it was over.
So he flew home, the place he yearned to be, he opened the gateway to the neo realm where his love was waiting, body and soul in one place. "How is our child?" Hayes whispered as Ben just hugged him, a peace overcoming them both.
