The divorce papers felt heavy in my hand, but my heart stayed numb.
Ever since Dora was gone, nothing seemed to reach me anymore.
That is, until Gloria showed up at my door.

Revelation After My Daughter's Death
The moment I opened it, she exploded. "Linsey Wood, when are you going to stop this? It was just your daughter! Why are you being so dramatic? Do you want to destroy Spencer?"
"Just my daughter?"
I stared at her, my blood turning to ice. "Gloria, if you had even a shred of decency, you wouldn't say something so vile."
Dora's death had left a wound that would never heal—yet to Gloria, it was nothing.
She scoffed, flipping her hair. "So what if she's dead? Who are you writing all those posts for? Spencer won't even see me now—he's locked himself away. This is all your doing, isn't it? You're punishing me!"
Of course. She wasn't here for me. She was here because he had shut her out.
"Whatever's going on between you and Spencer is your problem. Take it up with him."
I tried to shut the door, but she shoved her way inside, lips curling into something ugly. "You know, Linsey… I misjudged you. Spencer was obsessed with me. When I left, he was broken. I thought for sure he'd dump you the second I came back. But no—no matter what I did, he wouldn't let you go. Not even for your daughter."
"Why are you telling me this?" My voice was flat. I didn't care about their twisted history.
Then she leaned in, her whisper dripping with poison. "Here's the thing… I used to think he stayed because of her."
A pause. A smirk.
"So… I made sure she was gone."
The world shattered.
