Tiffany had remained silent throughout, her face growing paler by the second.
"You idiot!"
The manager stepped on Mike's back, signaling with his eyes toward me.
"That's our real Miss! Stop clinging to her and making up nonsense. Our Miss is a woman of noble status. How could she ever be interested in someone like you?"
Mike, battered and bruised, seemed like the sky had fallen. His face was full of shock. "No... impossible... absolutely impossible!"
He looked at me, then at Tiffany. "If she's the real Miss, then who is Tiffany?"
The manager shrugged. "How would I know?"
Mike's eyes bulged as he stared at Tiffany, shouting hysterically,
"Tiffany, say something! This is your family's hotel! Even the manager is ignoring your authority. This is outrageous!"
Tiffany still remained silent, not saying a word.
She knew that by this point, her facade of being a wealthy heiress could no longer hold up.
Mike was on the verge of collapse. Tears and snot streamed down his face as he wailed, "Tiffany, tell me what's going on! What the hell is happening?"
"Let me explain it to you!"
My voice shattered Mike's last shred of hope.
"The wealthy heiress you planned to marry is actually the daughter of my family's driver. That man who was just carried out? He's Tiffany's biological father."
Mike froze, his face blank as he collapsed onto the ground, mumbling incoherently,
"No... impossible... this can't be true... I don't believe it... If Tiffany is the driver's daughter, then who are you?"
I said coldly, "I am Fiona Fendi, the only legitimate daughter of the Fendi family!"
The revelation caused an uproar.
"The Fendi family of South River? She's the Fendi family's daughter?"
"No way! That's the most powerful family in the South River region, capable of influencing half of the area with a single hand!"
"So, Tiffany's fiancé's ex-girlfriend... has such an incredibly terrifying background?"
The whispers and chatter rose and fell around us.
Mike's face twisted dramatically, growing darker by the second.
He stared at me in disbelief, his eyes nearly popping out of their sockets. "You... why didn't you ever tell me? Why didn't you tell me your true identity?"
I replied icily, "I kept it from you because I didn't want you to feel pressured or inferior due to the difference in our social status."
"The day before you left, my father had already agreed to let us be together. I was going to tell you everything... but instead, I received your breakup letter."
"I should be thankful I didn't reveal my true identity. If I had, I wouldn't have seen your true colors in time!"
Each word I spoke stabbed into Mike's heart like a dagger.
He froze, as if his soul had left his body. Kneeling on the ground like a broken puppet, his eyes were void of any light.
He had grovelled at Tiffany's feet like a dog in hopes of marrying into a wealthy family, only to find out it was all a cruel dream.
And the real chance to marry into wealth? He had personally thrown it away.
"Fiona, I was wrong! I know I was wrong! Please give me another chance!"
Mike scrambled toward me like a madman, tears and snot streaming down his face.
"I was forced to do it! Deep down, I've always loved you! I swear!"
Looking at Mike's pathetic display, I couldn't help but frown deeply.
Utterly disgusting!
"Mike, you make me sick!"
I kicked him away with full force.
A heartless scumbag like him wasn't worth even an ounce of regret.
"Miss Fiona, we didn't know your identity. Please forgive us!"
"All of this... it's all Tiffany's doing. We had no idea!"
Upon learning my identity, the entire hall of guests went weak in the knees and dropped to the floor.
Especially those who had poured wine on me—they were trembling, their faces as pale as paper.
Some, however, still appeared confused and whispered among themselves:
"If Tiffany really is the driver's daughter, how could she afford such extravagant spending?"
I was just as puzzled.
"You idiot!"
